## What is Vita AI Fitness & Health Buddy?

Product Positioning

Vita is your AI fitness & health buddy. It brings your WHOOP and Apple Health data — sleep, recovery, training load, daily activity — together with the lab reports you upload, turns them into readable trends like Body Age, Recovery and Sleep analysis, and uses a conversational AI coach to translate the numbers into "what to do today". For people already on WHOOP, Vita is the layer that makes that data useful; it also works with just an Apple Watch. Vita follows Medicine 3.0: use everyday data to stay healthy proactively.

Vita reads your data through Apple Health (HealthKit) and WHOOP's authorized cloud API; it does not pair with any band, watch or device.

From the Developer

Vita began with one idea from Outlive: the "marginal decade". I wrote my own list for age 90 — a full round of golf, carrying my own suitcase. My devices gave me metrics, but none said whether today moved me closer. So I built Vita: set the goal first, then make every day's data answer to it.

Core Features

1. Health Data Hub
Your Apple Health and WHOOP data in one place, as trends and general references. Sources: Apple Health, WHOOP (official authorized cloud API).

2. Recovery & Strain
With WHOOP connected, Vita shows WHOOP's own Recovery score and training load (Strain). With just an Apple Watch, Vita computes readiness and load itself from HRV, resting heart rate and sleep against your 28-day baseline — no extra device needed. Estimates, not a clinical assessment.

3. Sleep
Sleep duration, stage structure, interruptions and consistency, with one score per night.

4. Nutrition
Log meals by photo or text; AI estimates calories and macros (protein / carbs / fat / fibre) and tracks daily trends. Estimates vary with ingredients and portions — for logging reference only.

5. AI Insights & Chat
Daily / weekly insights from your data, plus free-form Q&A and "Vita Buddy" conversations. All AI content is general health information (see "Sources & methodology" below) and does not constitute medical advice.

6. Body Age
Estimates an age trend for your physical condition from VO₂max, resting heart rate, HRV, steps, sleep and recovery, so you can see where your habits are heading. An estimate based on public research, not a clinical assessment.

7. Health-Report Records
Photograph a physical-exam or lab report and Vita's AI extracts its markers and reference ranges for review over time. Ranges come from the issuing lab; Vita only displays them and does not replace a doctor's reading.

8. Health Goals & Age Baselines
Six metrics tracked against your age baseline: night respiratory rate (or VO2max), HRV, resting heart rate, sleep performance, deep sleep, steps.

9. Overnight Vitals Alerts
A push when night respiratory rate runs clearly above your baseline, or HRV stays low for several nights. Trend observations, not a diagnosis; off anytime.

10. Share Posters
Share your daily readout, sleep, training week, Body Age or goals as a poster.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.2 — 2026-08-24

What's new:
· Fixed: several places still showed Chinese to English users — unit labels across the health metrics, plus copy on the subscription, Profile and chat screens
· Fixed: respiratory rate was labelled bpm (beats per minute); it now reads br/min, which is what it actually measures
· Widget configuration options are now properly localised and follow your phone's language
· The copy button beside your invite code now copies just the code, so you can send it on its own — tap Share invite for the full message and link
· Other fixes and refinements

### 1.1.1 — 2026-08-13

What's new:
· Fixed: photo meal logging kept failing — the app was uploading photos nearly 9x larger than intended, which broke recognition. It is now noticeably faster and far more reliable
· Referral rewards are now tiered: 30 days of Premium for your first invites, 45 days each after 5, 60 days each after 10, with no cap — and the friend you invite earns more too
· Tap the invite card to see every invite and its status, instead of just a count
· A new invite entry at the bottom of Home opens the share poster in one tap and copies the invite message for you, ready to paste after the poster
· Your friends can now tap your invite link to open Vita with the code already filled in — no more typing it by hand
· Fixed: assorted details in the Vita chat and Body Age screens
· Other fixes and refinements

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-12

What's new:
· Stress: a new card at the top of Health, with recent trends and what the score is actually based on
· All 33 health metrics now explain what they are and how they're calculated, with the science behind them
· Important fix: if you wear an Apple Watch and carry an iPhone, your steps, distance and energy were counted once per device and read too high. They are now merged the way the Health app does it — each stretch of time counted once — and the past year is corrected automatically in the background
· Photo meal logging is far more reliable — it used to spin and then fail; now it recognises your meal much more often
· Long-press any message in your chat with Vita to copy it — yours and hers
· Fixed: Body Age showed one number on the card and a different one when you tapped in
· Fixed: meals that had in fact been saved were reported as failed
· Fixed: an error message suggested pulling to refresh on a screen that has no pull-to-refresh
· Other fixes and refinements

### 1.0.15 — 2026-08-10

What's new:
· Widgets: put recovery, sleep and load on your Home and Lock Screen — glance, no need to open the app
· Four data templates (Today / Body Age / Vitals / Recovery), switch by long-pressing the widget
· A new “Phone Widget” section in Profile lets you preview the look before adding it
· Rebuilt the data-source step: every channel now shows the devices it can read, so you can see at a glance which one is yours
· An Apple Watch alone is enough — connect Apple Health and you still get recovery, load and Body Age
· You can now add your sex during setup, so the AI's advice and reference ranges fit you better
· Sleep score: Apple Health gives you sleep stages but no score — now we compute a comparable one for you
· Fixed: the avatar you picked during setup wasn't being saved — now it sticks, and you can change it any time in Profile
· Fixed: editing your date of birth in Profile sometimes needed saving twice before it took
· Other fixes and refinements

### 1.0.14 — 2026-07-31

What's new:
· New Intimacy tracking: log with one tap, or just say “last Wednesday at 11pm, protected”. The calendar shows how many times this month and on which days
· Entries are written to Apple Health, and entries already in Apple Health are read back
· Speech recognition and parsing both run on your device — nothing is sent to an AI service
· Fixed Cycle Tracking showing no data: period records now sync from Apple Health automatically
· Other fixes and refinements
