I notice a lot of items I would order are no longer available to purchase. I realized when I put things in my cart & came back later, they are gone! I emailed customer service & found out that they can no longer get the product so it is removed from the cart. So sad! Now I have to find another company to shop if this app is not fixed. Takes forever to load! ### 2/5 — No iPad version *2026-05-10, version 7.6.0* It's been years, and still no iPad version. That matters because logging into the website on Safari has become increasingly problematic. ### 3/5 — Great company, slow app *2026-02-13, version 7.4.0* I’ve been using this app for a couple of years now. The company has great prices on the items ai purchase. They are much better than Amazon or Walmart. The app, on the other hand, needs some work. The UI is easy enough to navigate. I hate having to login every time I open the app. I wish the devs would build in some biometrics for authentication The real problems seem to live in the back end. Logging in took about 20 seconds today. Searches take about 15 seconds. I timed how long it took to complete my order the other night: 25 seconds! It took another 20 seconds to look up the tracking info today. The back end servers need to be updated, or perhaps there aren’t enough servers in the farm. ### 2/5 — Bad customer service and app *2026-02-01, version 7.4.0* I used to be a frequent customer ordering every week. The app has always been really bad. It times out and has a bad search function. However one of my orders had something happen the day it was out for delivery and the cancelled the delivery. I don’t know if it broke open or what but those were my groceries for the week. It usually takes 5-7 days for my order to come so I reached out to customer support to request a resolution. Could they resend with expedited shipping? Could they offer a discount code? They said no I was out of luck and just had to replace the order. Many of the items I was waiting for I needed that week and cannot get near me (special diet). After that it left a bad taste in my mouth and I don’t order from them anymore. I’ve been using Thrive instead and although you have to pay a fee it’s a far better service. Cheaper, faster, and good customer service. ### 2/5 — Way too many errors. Uninstalling. *2026-01-23, version 7.4.0* I just use the web based site because the app has numerous inexplicable errors. ### 3/5 — Getting better but still frustrating & sloooow *2026-01-02, version 7.4.0* The app has improved, but it’s still so slow. I roll my eyes. The search is still very frustrating and needs improvement. if I search for quinoa, there’s no way to just look at quinoa grain. You have to wade through every other product made with quinoa or that mentions quinoa. And if you look for sugar, for example you get tons of sugar substitutes. Wouldn’t I look for a sugar substitute if that’s what I wanted? Otherwise, the app seems to have greatly improved over a few months ago. Many of the previous bugs have gone away. ### 2/5 — Rarely works right *2025-11-28, version 7.4.0* So many issues with this app! It always requires me to sign in when I would rather it just allow me to shop and check out upon opening the app. Pages get stuck and remain buffering. I have to close the app and reopen. So annoying. If looking for a coupon code, you have to sift through all of the brands to find what you want. They do allow you to sort by category but it’s still very time-consuming when they force you to look at other promos. A SEARCH BAR on the deals and promos page would be very much appreciated. Check-out is often a nightmare as it often doesn’t allow the transaction to complete and almost every time I’ve had to breakout my laptop and go to their website just to complete the transaction. Rrrrrr. The Request a Refund or Replacement feature also seems to have trouble as my most recent request showed the message “Sorry we are having trouble please try again later.” I’ve been a Vitacost customer since their inception - yes, the good ol’ days when the minimum purchase was much lower than it is now (I think $25), coupon codes worked on ALL products (no restrictions) and shipping was a flat rate of $4.99. I used the same email address to login until one day, I no longer had access to my email account and instead of helping me get back into my Vitacost account, they required me to create a new account with a different email address. So much for being a loyal customer. What a PITA! I lost my purchase history and lists, to boot. All that said, they carry most of the products I use and are competitively priced (when using promo codes and zero shipping). Hope they can get the app issues resolved so I don’t have to waste so much time on it. ### 2/5 — Ok but… *2025-11-15, version 7.4.0* There is no contact section it doesn’t work Order tracking is a waste of time It’s 4 days and can’t find out when the order will be shipped On trac their shipper leaves The box outside near the street. App is unreliable & not particularly responsive- Now even website. Too bad. ### 3/5 — Love Vitacost, but app needs help *2025-09-06, version 7.3.0* Love all the healthy, good-for-you items! Although, the app could be a bit better designed. Doesn’t feel as smooth and easy as some other shopping apps. I’d also like the option to use Apple Pay at checkout. Also, I’m now getting an “access denied” error when I try to sign in. Maybe it’s because I use a VPN, but my other shopping apps work fine. I’ve been a loyal Vitacost customer, but unfortunately the app isn’t usable for me. ### 3/5 — Loading loading loading *2025-08-11, version 7.3.0* Really wanted to love it, it’s so close. But I constantly get loading loading loading and it’s just slow. This is on high speed internet too. Also, when using the reordering checkboxes — don’t dare miss the tap area or you’ll jump to the product and lose all of your selections. When you enter your search criteria it will try to find your results but often it glitches and goes back to the previous screen where you have to type in your search info again. The next time it brings us your search results. One other suggestion I have is if the app were smarter. They denied i had an account. Ive ordered and have confirmation emails proving otherwise. Not very friendly either, acted like i was a bother. It states access denied. ### 1/5 — Slow and broken *2025-05-21, version 7.1.0* Any coupon codes you apply in this broken app get erased, and you end up paying full price when the order gets charged. I guess I’ll just continue paying full price for everything, but that’s basically fraud. Their customer service is useless, they just punt you from department to department and you never get anything fixed. No matter how many updates, the app doesn't function properly. Very buggy and frustrating! I'm better off going on a computer or the internet rather than the app. Very dissatisfied! ### 1/5 — Canceled entire order with no notice *2026-01-21, version 7.4.0* The representative said they could see it was cancelled due to processing error. They GUESSED it was because my billing address is different than my shipping and they PROB needed verification. Half of all orders prob have different addresses. This happens on NO other platform. If there was an issue with the address it wouldn’t have gone through. My name is the same on everything. I was never asked to verify anything. It was cancelled NO notice or explanation. I got no apology and no offer to refill my order. ### 1/5 — Website glitches and Delivery problems *2025-11-21, version 7.4.0* I had a Vitacost account where I used to live and had problems with delivery especially with FedEx. I moved and changed emails so opened a new account and have not had problems with any deliveries until lately. Five in a row with FedEx including a couple with Vitacost. These are my issues: the Vitacost website/app shows that I have no orders or history even after dealing with problems with the current order. This has been both locations I've lived over years. Their search function is awful if you put in just part of the name or word is not how they have it it will show nothing. They said they put in a ticket 3 times total and nothing's been fixed. The only reason why I have an order number is because I took a snapshot. The first order got to the city closest to me before delivery and was damaged by FedEx and sent back. I called to initiate a re-order and they sent out a replacement that was supposed to come yesterday but didn't. Supposed to come today and the truck stopped at my house with two guys one in uniform one not one got out and they never brought a package to my house and drive off. It is still showing out for delivery. They used to always come by 10-11AM and it's now 4 PM and I have no faith that it will be delivered. Vitacost told me that they only do one replacement and then you have to start a new order and start shipping all over again!!! NO offer of expedited shipping if it's damaged again or does not reach me so it's going to be a couple of weeks if they don't return before I get my products. Definitely a reason to hesitate re-ordering from them again! ### 1/5 — latest version riddled with issues checking out *2025-11-05, version 7.4.0* I updated to the latest iphone app. Taking paypal as a payment option is riddled with vitacost logo spinning attempting to process, repeating navigation back to 'payment options'. i had to select payment options after already having done so and choosing paypal on repeat. it eventually allowed me to login to paypal and then it returned back to cart with no option to complete order. i had to choose payment options AGAIN and it then had an available button to complete order. This followed up with a blank screen with only the cart icon showing at the bottom with a count of my items. I checked my email for a successful order and then aborted the app. iphone 8+ and latest IOS phone has no other process irregularities outside of the vitacost app. ### 1/5 — Always a problem *2025-10-24, version 7.4.0* I buy from this company often, but there is nothing that sends me into orbit more than using their website to do it. It is slow, it hangs up, it stalls, it’s always problem after problem. There’s an option to sign in for 24 hours at a time on your phone - only works 1/4 of the time. It’s just hard to believe in the year 2025 you would still have a website app that can’t flow smoothly. It is so frustrating!!!!!! ### 1/5 — App Never Works? *2025-08-31, version 7.3.0* While I order lots from Vitacost its app never works. Already deleted redownloaded a few times. Currently deals page is blank but can see if search deals or coupons in other app sections. Never seemed to update the deals properly. Only ordered using app directly once with it giving me Lakewood Organic Pineapple Ginger instead of Pure Pineapple. Even on my M2 Laptop it seems to bring up items never order compared to what windows machines get. So maybe its only an Apple issue. Does not keep logged in like every other app use. Maybe if had Kroger here its app or this would work better. Vitacost can be hit or miss ordering. They gave me issue on 10 12 15% off sale for example. Saying after discount was under 80 as its not how anybody else does. As have to spend like 120 then. So make sure applies discounts or have right item. Really wish app was better or worked. Needs to auto update deals page 7 or 9 am everyday. Then let stay logged in if want me to use. Hardly an expert but seems my first dead app. Really would do a phone order over this as not sure its safe secure. ### 1/5 — Company has gone downhill *2025-06-23, version 7.1.1* Sends expired product, then removes from website as discontinued, so you can’t leave feedback or get a replacement/ refund. Owned by Kroger company now, but doesn't live up to Kroger standards. Another bought out failure of a small business. App hasn’t improved in over a decade that I’ve been a customer. Their site states 1-2 business days but both their phone and chat support keep giving me the runaround with no resolution in sight. ### 1/5 — Endless spinning wheel *2025-06-17, version 7.1.1* I’ve been a Vitacost customer for over a decade, yet I have not managed to figure out why it’s so difficult to create an app that works smoothly. The shopping cart never updates between browser and app. I emptied my cart yesterday on a desktop and when I go into the app it still shows that I have 5 items. This app has been out for years, yet, it’s clunky. The search box is unintelligent and if you don’t spell something perfectly, it won’t try to guess or autocorrect.
