## What is VitalCast?

Your Apple Health data, turned into a clear, research-backed briefing in plain language.

Apple Health collects everything and explains nothing. VitalCast reads it on your iPhone and tells you what changed, what it tends to mean, and what the research says helps, in plain words. No account, no cloud, no tracking. Every insight is computed on your device and cited to a real, named study you can tap and read.

YOUR DAY AT A GLANCE
A readiness score built from last night's sleep, sleep timing, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability, measured against your own usual range, never anyone else's. And it shows its work: tap Why this score and the arithmetic is on screen, your normal, what each signal added or subtracted today, and the total, line by line. One Thing Today surfaces the single reading most worth your attention. Five pillars, Vitals, Activity, Sleep, Mind, and Nutrition, organize every Apple Watch reading with a plain-language line under each.

A HOME SCREEN YOU ARRANGE
Drag the cards you care about to the top and switch off the ones you do not use. Heads-ups always stay pinned. Choose Light, Dark, or System, and every metric carries its own pillar color so you can tell at a glance which part of your health a number belongs to.

SLEEP, IN DEPTH
A sleep score that shows its math. REM, deep sleep, efficiency, timing consistency, and interruptions, with every weight visible and every cutoff cited to published sleep research. Anchored to your own baseline once VitalCast learns it.

TRAINING LOAD
Your last 7 days of workouts against your 28-day norm, built from your Watch's effort scores. When load is building while your recovery runs low, VitalCast suggests an easy day, and Rest Mode pauses the nudges entirely while you get over something.

A HEADS-UP WHEN SOMETHING SHIFTS
Overnight wrist temperature, breathing, and heart signals are compared to your own usual range. When a few run off-baseline together, you get a calm heads-up, graded, never dramatic, never a diagnosis. Research from large wearable studies backs the pattern, and the citation is right there.

MEDICATIONS, MOOD, AND THE GAPS
Import your medication list from Apple Health on iOS 26, or log meds in seconds, with a cited review of side effects and interactions to discuss with your clinician. Log a mood and see how it moves with your sleep in your own data. Blood pressure, glucose, and vitals write back to Apple Health so your record stays whole.

A BRIEFING YOU CAN CHECK
Daily, weekly, and monthly briefings in plain language, with every line traceable to your data and its source study. Briefings available in English and Spanish. A one-page doctor export PDF summarizes meds, vitals, symptoms, and trends for appointments.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your health data never leaves your iPhone. No account, no analytics, nothing collected. App Store privacy label: Data Not Collected.

VitalCast is a wellness app. It compares your readings only to your own history, never labels anything normal or abnormal, and never diagnoses. Always talk to a clinician about medical concerns.

The weekly briefing and logging are free, always. VitalCast Pro adds daily check-ins, all briefing tones, vitals and trend charts, full history, and the doctor export for a small monthly or yearly subscription (see in-app pricing). Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and can be managed in your App Store account settings.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.4 — 2026-08-16

Fixes and refinements throughout.

• Past briefings now stay with the tab you are reading, so daily, weekly, and monthly each keep their own history.
• The subscription screen now tells you when a purchase does not go through, and keeps the plan you picked after a retry.
• Pro features now update correctly when a subscription lapses or is restored.
• Clearer, more accurate wording across the app in English and Spanish.

Your health data still never leaves your iPhone. No account, no cloud, nothing collected.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-08-07

A new home-screen widget, color that means something, and Spanish throughout.

Your day on the home screen

A new widget puts your readiness score, last night's sleep, resting heart rate, and steps where you can see them without opening anything. The score dial carries the same color as the app, so a glance is enough. Small and medium sizes.

Color that means something

Your numbers now read at a glance. Green, amber, and red show how a reading sits against your own baseline, so a day that is off stands out before you read a word. Each of the five pillars carries its own color as well, so heart, sleep, activity, mind, and nutrition are easy to tell apart everywhere in the app. Color never carries the meaning on its own: every score keeps its number and every status keeps its word.

Spanish, end to end

Everything reads in Spanish now, including the dashboard, the first run, all of Settings, and the Pro screen. Dates, times, and numbers follow the language you pick inside the app rather than the one your phone is set to.

Apple Health that explains itself

If VitalCast cannot read your data, it now says why and takes you straight to the Health app to fix it, instead of leaving you with an empty dashboard. Connecting also rebuilds your briefings right away, so what you read always matches what is on your screen.

Fixes

Your own log of medications, symptoms, and vitals now carries across app updates.
The buttons at the top of Home no longer sit on top of your numbers when you scroll.
Step counts are grouped, so five figures are easier to read.
The Log tab now uses the same masthead as the rest of the app.
Onboarding no longer cuts text off behind the Next button.

Everything still runs on your iPhone. No account, no tracking, nothing uploaded.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-07-27

A new look, and a score that shows its work.

VitalCast has been redesigned. The app now reads like a printed page
instead of a dashboard: warm paper, ink, hairline rules, and a serif
face on every number that matters. Light is the new default, and dark
is still a fully tuned second theme. If you already picked a theme,
VitalCast keeps your choice. You can change it any time in Settings.

WHY THIS SCORE
Your readiness score now shows its arithmetic. It starts at 50, which
is your own normal, and every signal adds or subtracts points from
there until the column adds up to the number on the dial. Each line
shows today's reading next to your usual range, how much weight it
carries, and which direction counts in your favor. Nothing is
rephrased or guessed, it is the actual calculation.

MORE ACCURATE SCORES
Readiness now reads your overnight HRV correctly, so a normal night
no longer pins a component at zero. Partial days of steps and active
energy are compared against the same hours of your usual day rather
than a full one, and the sleep pipeline measures duration, timing and
efficiency more faithfully.

A HOME SCREEN YOU ARRANGE
Reorder or hide any card on Home, and your layout stays yours. Rest
Mode and anything flagged stay pinned at the top, because a card that
tells you something is off should not be switchable.

FIVE PILLARS
Vitals, Activity, Sleep, Mind and Nutrition sit in one rail across the
top. Tap a section and the whole screen follows it.

COLOR THAT MEANS SOMETHING
Each pillar has its own ink, so a hue tells you which part of your
health a number belongs to, and the score scale tells you how it is
going. A color is never decoration here.

FIXES
Resolved a crash on launch for some users caused by how cardio fitness
was read from Apple Health.

Everything still runs on your iPhone. No account, no tracking.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-07-25

This update is mostly about accuracy, plus two things people asked for.

MORE ACCURATE SCORES
Readiness now reads your overnight heart rate variability correctly. A bucketing bug could let a handful of daytime readings stand in for a night of recovery, which pushed the score down through the afternoon.
Step count and active energy are no longer judged half finished. Today's running total was being compared against a full day's baseline, so the app flagged your activity as low every morning and quietly corrected itself by evening.
Sleep is measured more carefully. A nap is no longer mistaken for a night, a late lie-in is no longer glued onto the night before it, efficiency now counts time in bed rather than the stretch between falling asleep and waking, and the timing consistency score is on a scale that matches how it is read.
Smaller reads were corrected too, including heart health, the readiness trend chart, the illness heads-up threshold, and wording that could call a reading "within your usual range" beside numbers that plainly were not.

LIGHT MODE, PROPERLY
VitalCast has a real light theme now, not a dimmed version of the dark one. Choose Dark, Light, or System in Settings.
Color means something everywhere. Each metric carries its pillar color, so you can see at a glance which part of your health a number belongs to, while green and amber keep telling you how it is going.

A HOME SCREEN YOU ARRANGE
Tap the sliders button on Home to reorder your cards or switch off the ones you do not use. Heads-ups, like Rest Mode, always stay pinned at the top.

ALSO
More from the studio, in Settings, lists the other apps built to the same rules. The whole list ships inside the app, nothing is fetched over the network.
The rating prompt now only appears on a day your readiness is actually good, and never while you are resting through something.
