### 3/5 — A good start BUT needs work!!!

*2012-02-02, version 4.4*

1 cup honey - that is the only serving size available. I had 2t in a cup of tea. So it's total crap if you want your vitamin totals. The food search function is painfully bad. But, it is cool to see vitamin contents of foods.

### 3/5 — it

*2010-07-12, version 0*

I would a section where you can enter your own information. database is very limited with it's items. also, the serving size should be able to put that you ate a half apple, etc, or a 1/4 cup of cashews, etc.....otherwise it would be perfect

### 3/5 — Has potential, but still has a ways to go

*2010-03-20, version 0*

This app has potential, but has a ways to go. As Bliss Hollywood stated, the search feature does not work (when purchasing it, I thought that perhaps they may have been mistaken, as no one else mentioned that in their review; unfortunately, it is correct). As it is, it has limited use, but I hope to find it more useful with further updates.

### 3/5 — Great App, Very Useful

*2009-07-23, version 0*

Love this app! Looks great, amazing pictures and I love that it tells you what food contains each vitamin. Would love to see more vitamins and minerals added in the future. Well Done :-)

### 3/5 — Mixed opinion

*2009-07-16, version 0*

Good information but rather basic in content. Would appreciate more content such as RDA amount and examples of how to meet these for each vitamin. Seems like a good start just could use more content I just hope the developer cares enough about the app to consider this.

### 1/5 — Needs iPhone 5 support

*2012-12-02*

Needs iPhone 5 support

### 1/5 — Horrible app horrible

*2011-12-04, version 4.4*

The search engine is awful and lags a lot.. You cannot find anything.. It is the worst i have ever seen.. I thought it would be intersting to know what vitamins and minerals iam consuming but this horrible app is not worth even for free.. I recommend to stay away!!!!!

### 1/5 — Information too generic to be useful

*2010-09-10, version 0*

Bases your recommended intake off of gender and age, not weight/height; So as a female between 31-50, my recommendations are based on a diet of 2250 calories per day (not even close to accurate). Entering food from the database to your "menu" for the day is time consuming, and it doesn't ask how much of the food you ate, but tells you how much of your recommended nutrients you've consumed. I was looking for something to track my vitamin supplements to correct serious deficiencies, but they can't be entered.

### 1/5 — Doesn't do what it promises

*2010-03-23, version 0*

It says it helps you track your intake if vitamins and minerals, but I can't find any way of entering what I eat. A waste of money unless they correct that.

### 1/5 — Don't waste your $

*2010-01-13, version 0*

Don't waste your money! The search engine doesn't even work. I bought this app to help me find the content on vitamin K in foods but I can't even search foods. This is a piece of crap app that I'm none to happy to have spent my money on. 

### 1/5 — Helpful, but for $, 

*2009-07-14, version 0*

I have quite a few other health related apps that explain this, one than is awesome. It was free. I thought paying for this one would have ment it was feature rich. I was wrong. I am eagerly awaiting your updates. It wasn't bad enough to delete, so you must have done some of it more efficiantly than the other guys, right?!?

### 2/5 — Still testing...

*2013-01-26, version 4.4*

Could be very useful but it's SO annoying to use. To select a food to add to your menu, you have to scroll through hundreds of packaged ready-meal type options. It would be far, far better if you could select a sub-category to search in, e.g. Fruit, if you just want an ordinary apple. That way, I could bypass 90% of what is listed and speed up the whole process. Why baby food keeps coming up first is baffling. Very American, would benefit from a more international feel.

### 2/5 — Needs work

*2011-11-10, version 4.4*

I bought this app so I could track micronutrient intake. I can't adjust the serving size so that calculator is nearly useless. I want the app to keep up with me not vice versa. Also, the presentation of intake totals is an eye sore.

The search function has to be the worst in the world. Full word matches should be on top of the list. Sometimes the results don't even match your query.

### 2/5 — Needs more

*2010-08-19, version 0*

Very barebones, withsuch lean content it should at least expand into other bodily necessities such as protein and omega 3. Feel ripped off.

I also hate how the RDA values were taken away. It used to show you which food provided the largest RDA for the vitamin.

### 2/5 — Needs amounts

*2009-11-11, version 0*

I was wrongly expecting the very basic inclusion of recommended daily amounts, and limits before levels could be deleterious. I hope an update will add this.

### 5/5 — Use it to help improve my grocery shopping

*2011-10-26, version 4.4*

There are quite a few things related to food health this app can do, but mainly use it to improve the quality of what I buy when I'm at Albertson's, Safeway, Fresh & Easy etc. Should I get Watermelon or Cantaloupe? This app will tell you by showing the amount these foods contain of various minerals, vitamins, calories etc. I saw a previous reviewer say this app doesn't have info on Omegas but it has for a couple years now.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2010-02-11, version 0*

Works great. Very colorful and user friendly and gives important daily info

### 5/5 — Very informative and a great help

*2010-01-24, version 0*

Very clear and concise information laid out exactly how I need it. A+

### 5/5 — Perfect for my needs

*2010-01-21, version 0*

This is a great app that gives me all of the information I need. I try to stay healthy and aware of what foods I should be eating, and this does it. The visuals are very clean and crisp as well. Aesthetically pleasing.

### 5/5 — I feel better already...!

*2010-01-16, version 0*

I work in law enforcement, so days can be long and stressful. This app is really helpful in that it allows me to see which foods contain particular vitamins that will allow me to have more energy and keep me going at work.

### 5/5 — Beautiful & useful

*2009-07-19, version 0*

This is helpful, hand, & simple, and looks very pretty!!

### 4/5 — Helpful

*2010-02-11, version 0*

As someone who doesn't know or understand much about nutrition, I found Vitamate helpful in planning a healthier shopping list. I know I'm meant to have lots of Vitamin A, B, X or whatever, and the app helped me work out what foods I liked contained those properties. It's a very simple, straight forward app at the moment but it'd be great if they expanded the search functionality so you could type in a food or ingredient and added some built-in list-making feature for shopping.

### 4/5 — nice

*2009-07-01, version 0*

Pleased with the purchase, feels fairly anemic to be 1.99 but i am happy with it. Would love to see future updates have searchable content, like - look up banana and it tells you what vitamins are in it etc..

### 3/5 — Brilliant idea, just needs tweaking

*2013-08-20, version 4.4*

Brilliant idea- lets u see how nutritionally complete your diet is. And very easy to navigate. However big let down is you cannot adjust the portion size- most foods are 1 cup!! Really annoying if u can eaten less. Also if u add something then see a more accurate food label you cannot go back and delete your foods.

Finally, the summary section could be laid out better, as this is the point of the app really. Would be good if nutrients were ticked off when u reach 100% and those still in low levels highlighted so u can easily see what u are lacking.

Hoping these problems are addressed in an update as want to keep using this app!

### 3/5 — Great app but would love to see fiber info

*2012-04-11, version 4.4*

Also an improvement would be to be able to adjust the serving size
