### 2/5 — Game Ending Bugs and Terrible UI

*2025-06-29, version 32*

If you are making a game and at some point the app crashes or times out and your game is not auto saved- why are you making games man?!

I feel like every digidice title I try:
A) terrible UI. No way it was blind tested and they can’t even follow conventions. It’s literally a UX law- make it like other apps so I don’t have to think. You can’t even make a proper CTA (hint: it’s not a custom icon that’s green instead of white). Please just take a UX course or do some UX law flashcards.
B) Buggy. I get bugs happen but you can’t have people invest 30-60 minutes in a game and then they never get to finish it. It completely devalues everything your team has done.

I feel like Digidice almost nails it everyone except these two problems. And they pick the best games to develop so I keep hoping they learned.

### 4/5 — Good w/ Tuscany

*2024-10-26, version 32*

Paid for the app and the Tuscany expansion. It’s not obvious how to get the Tuscany expansion running, and some of the controls are not great, but the game overall is really good

### 4/5 — Gute Umsetzung

*2024-08-31*

### 4/5 — is the dlc have Chinese？

Is the dlc have Chinese？ I can‘t see it

### 2/5 — Decent, but the bugs and design flaws are still here…

*2024-04-02, version 32*

Just played a my first games. Played once with the base game and once with the Tuscany expansion.

With the base game, I had the issue others reported with being unable to plant grapes that I did have the relevant buildings for. However, I was able to get around this by undoing my turn about 4 times.

The bug/flaw that I was unable to resolve was with the special workers introduced in Tuscany. The game seems to have no way to select them at the right time, meaning that I missed out on the bonuses and actively helped the opponent when I didn’t mean to.

### 3/5 — AI is too easy

*2023-11-22, version 32*

Even the hardest AI is not difficult to beat

### 2/5 — Should be 5 stars

*2023-07-28, version 32*

I encountered a bug that essentially destroyed my chance of competing in the game. You can have at most 5 workers and you need all 5 to have a chance. There are 2 special workers you can train, one of those is a Merchant. He has the power to take an action in a season that has already passed. With the latest update they curtailed his power a lot, but he is still very useful. I am in a game where I could not play my Merchant. I tried all the remedies in the in game help faqs and in the community help all to no avail. That puts me down one worker and puts me out of the game. So I filed a bug report and got no response. Meanwhile my opponents are complaining to me that I'm not taking my turn. So I took an action which works in ever other game I have tried it with, and I have tried it with around 10-15 different games. I deleted and reinstalled the app. It came back and lost my game... sort of. I am only in one game and the main screen can't find it but the menu on the side sees it. When i do the refresh selection, the main screen comes up with no games found but the menu on the right side pops up with a yellow one indicating that it found one game. So at least one programmer did his/her job correctly. I sent in another bug report but again I got no response. Sigh. Please fix this bug, it is a game killer.

### 3/5 — Crashes randomly

*2023-03-22, version 30*

Like all Stonemaier Games apps this crashes randomly. Games from other publishers and the same digital developers work just fine. For some reason it’s only games from SM that constantly crash like this.

### 3/5 — Could be better

*2023-02-27*

The game implementation is faithful and it seems to be bug free. Unfortunately the UI it not intuitive and fiddly. For every action the player needs to spend an extra click to confirm. The graphic design has lot of room to be improved. Cards are very hard to read on iPhone pro max and it is difficult to tell when you already used your workers. Also, the ‘hand’ is tricky to click due to the iPhone window manager bar that sits on top of the cards.

The game itself is really good. For those who want to try viticulture before buying it or have an option to play digitally I believe it’s worth the price tag.

**Developer response:** Hello! Thank you for your feedback. If you go to the in-game options menu you can enable a mode that will confirm your actions automatically. This will reduce clicks. But you won't be able to undo some decisions when you activate it.
We will check possible solutions for the readability of cards and improvements.
Best regards, Team Digidiced

### 5/5 — Great game that we play frequently

*2023-02-18, version 14*

AI’s make their moves pretty fast now, at least on our 3 year old iPads. Very rare to see a bug. Love the intricacies of various strategies available in the game. Tactics are important, but luck can occasionally be a big factor in who wins.

### 3/5 — Edited: Maybe this will keep getting updates.

*2023-02-14*

I thought this app will soon be abandoned by the developer like so many other (older) apps from them. I’ve received a response and will gladly await new updates.

**Developer response:** Hello. Viticulture will get an update soon together with the new tuscany expansion. We are also working on new features for Gaia Project that are not ready to be shared yet. One of our older games "Patchwork", got updated and migrated to our new server. This is what we plan to do with all our older games. You can follow our social media, check our homepage or join our discord channel to get news about our games and the work processes of our small team.

### 3/5 — Great game let down by poor UI

*2023-01-15, version 14*

In my opinion viticulture is one of the best board games but the app feels so dry and uninspired. I wish it had some more imagination to make it more engaging like root or wingspan.

### 4/5 — Tolle Spielidee - maue Umsetzung

*2022-12-29*

Bitte mal Through the Ages ansehen - da könnte man sich vieles abschauen: vom deutlich unterhaltsameren Tutorial bis zur deutlich intuitiveren Steuerung.

**Developer response:** Hallo!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Bad

*2026-06-11, version 34*

Bad implementation of the game. The AI is slow and the expansion that makes the game good costs more than the game itself. Wish I could return this for a refund

### 1/5 — Viticulture game

*2026-05-03*

When I’m skip time of year, my character skips two seasons at once! Bad game. Solve this problem! It solves a lot.

### 1/5 — Nearly impossible to play online.

*2024-04-05*

One star for the local mode against AI, it’s a nice game. Online mode is dreadful, it’s almost impossible to start a game because everybody must have (or have not) the pricey DLC. Besides, users should manually start a match, the queue takes ages.

You developers could learn a thing or two from the WINGSPAN app from MONSTER COUCH. Perfect online mode: we just hit the button and we are automatically in a match. Regardless we buy the DLC, we experience the complete version when we play online, thus everybody is on the same page and it’s easy to find people to play.

But then nobody buys the DLCs, right? Wrong! We are nudged to buy the DLCs because once we experience the full version on the online mode, the local mode without the DLCs feels incomplete and repetitive. And we use to play local because real people use to have a huge downtime, and sometimes we just need a quick match. It’s the clever way to make us buy the DLC, not the greedy one. Better for all.

### 1/5 — Great Game Awful App

*2023-02-20, version 28*

This app is beautiful, and the music is great. It’s viticulture on iOS. What’s wrong with it is that if you buy this to play board games with others, then AVOID this app! Unless you finish a whole game in a single sitting, it won’t let you actually complete your turn. With this typically being a longer game, I specifically use the apps to be able to play at my own convenience but not with this app. Also the UI is very clunky and not organized well. Most things even on the Home Screen only have icons and no words. Overall the only good of this app comes from the game and the music. The music isn’t needed, and the game is just viticulture. The app fails to provide any of the benefits a board game app usually provides

### 1/5 — Not working at all

*2022-12-26*

How user unfriendly can you make a game? Well download this one and you have the answer. I cannot play a single game because there are no lobbies and no player available and if there is any game you need to be friends with the players to join. What is this??? I bought this game weeks ago and could not even play one single game because I am not able to join any stupid lobby. I want my money back.

**Developer response:** Hello, you don’t need to join a lobby to play a game. If you want to play against other players online you can join a ranked queue. To play an unranked online game you will need to add friends, to start a game with them. To play a local against AI or with a friend you can choose local game settings. If you have any additional questions regarding the game please contact support@digidiced.com . Best regards, Team Digidiced.

### 1/5 — A poor experience

*2022-06-29, version 14*

This app is a collection of what not to do when porting a board game. First, the AI is painfully slow and obstreperous. Not only is it slow, it gets in the way. It would be one thing to wait on the AI (which, by the way, is brutally difficult, even on easy) while checking your own cards and your engine. But you are prevented from even seeing what card you just drew until every single AI opponent is done futzing about. The AI is incredibly difficult to beat, even on easy. It does this by hogging memory and therefore battery life on your phone. From a full charge, two games will completely deplete the battery on on iPhone 10. The AI also seems to also have a knack for drawing some opportune cards at just the right moment. The game does not let you pause or take a break. If you navigate away from the app and tale a call, send an email, etc, your game will be lost and you will have to start over. There are some weird, beat-style glitches the app has as well. I’ve had it get stuck on the loading screen, gotten a blank tableau, or been cheated out of windmill points when taking a Summer action in the winter to plant vines. I’ll also address an issue with the game mechanics as well: No one at Stonemaier has done anything about the Yoke. It is a useless “building,” taking two moves to make use of it, which is a waste of workers. The yoke should uproot and plant in one move. Even better, it should uproot, replant the old vine if needed, and plant a new vine, and maybe cost a bit more. I absolutely will not play a game where I’m dealt the yoke. Another gameplay problem that the AI takes great advantage of is, you can win without filling wine orders. Instead of filling orders, the AI sells, buys, plants, sells, buys, plays cards, and gets up to 20 points without filling a single order. This is both a gameplay problem, and a problem with the AI using a cheap exploit. This is an ok game made far worse by some terrible programming. Wish I could get my $10 back

### 1/5 — Horrible update maybe because of mobile devices

*2022-01-06, version 10*

The layout was the best part it was nice and big especially on the iPad. Now the update shrunk everything down so I looks like a mobile game now. Another dumb thing, rules state first worker gets the bonus and you have to select it?! Ridiculous.

### 1/5 — Please fix it

*2021-12-26, version 10*

It was great, if somewhat slow. Now it just crashes. Two updates back to back, and I can’t get past set up.

### 1/5 — Impossible to play

*2021-12-26, version 10*

Zero stars. Having downloaded the game this evening, I was unable to even finish the tutorials because the game glitched and closed every 2 minutes. I thought perhaps it might just be the tutorial mode, so I tried playing a game, twice. It glitched and closed before I was even able to start. After 7 tries, I’m annoyed and angry that this is so poorly programmed. An absolute waste of my evening.

### 1/5 — Nice game, terrible app

*2021-10-09, version 8*

It’s a shame that the board game developers went with this app developer. The game itself is really good, but the app is so frustrating. Playing against the AI is pointless (not how a real player would play the game at all). The app is clunky, buggy, and time-consuming (too many flashy effects that don’t really enhance the player experience). I won’t be purchasing any more apps from this developer.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Has gotten much better

*2026-01-28, version 34*

Initially was frustrated with this app, but it has gotten much better. Really love it with the expansion. Only wish the AI was smarter so I didn’t always win

### 5/5 — Strategy

*2025-12-28, version 33*

I own the board game but haven’t played it often enough to diversify my strategy based on my opening hand. This game mimics everything I want from the original board game plus helps track all of the elements in play and every possible next move. Super well done

### 5/5 — Great game, great iOS adaptation!

*2024-07-04, version 32*

Love the original boardgame, and this digital adaptation is impressive and fun. I’m really enjoying being able to play a game anywhere and without having to set up all the pieces. I’m really glad to see the Tuscany expansion implemented too, and the music is nice.

### 5/5 — Great game

*2024-05-29, version 32*

I can’t find anything to complain about with this app. I enjoyed the base version of viticulture and the AI was pretty competitive. The Tuscany expansion is a more open expanded version with a lot more options for workers, buildings and doing stuff. I’m impressed with the amount of implementation that must have gone into every card, worker and building and it all works in the app. Nice one!

### 5/5 — Excellent !

*2023-10-15*

**Developer response:** Thank you for your positive review! We are happy that you enjoy the app. Best regards, Team Digidiced

### 5/5 — Top Brettspielumsetzung

*2023-05-25*

Super App. Vor allem jetzt mit der Tuscany Erweiterung. Toll ! Weiter so !

**Developer response:** Hallo!

### 5/5 — I’m having a lot of fun

*2023-03-27, version 30*

This is a great app. I bought the game in December for my friends and we only played twice. Once I played the app I couldn’t play the board game again. Luckily all my friends have IPads and we play on that whether we are together or not. We actually play mostly at our own homes. The Tuscany version is fun. We are addicted. I hope you guys add the Moors Visitors in the future.

### 5/5 — Excellent adaptation

*2023-03-14, version 30*

4 stars for the base game plus 1 for the excellent Tuscany expansion. This is a very good adaptation of the analog game.

### 5/5 — Excellent game

*2023-02-23, version 28*

I’ve been playing and enjoying this game since it was released on iOS. I liked it so much I went out bought the boardgame. The game runs even faster now with this latest release.
