## What is ViVa?

ViVa, Sjöfartsverkets informationstjänst för väder, vind och vattenstånd, ger dig observationer i nära realtid. Sjöfartsverket och SMHI har över 150 väderstationer runt Sveriges kust och i några sjöar och vattendrag. Mätstationerna ger information om vindhastighet, vindriktning, vattenstånd, vattenström, vattentemperatur, vattnets salthalt och densitet, lufttryck, luftfuktighet och lufttemperatur och sikt. Varje station har, utifrån handelssjöfartens behov, en specifik uppsättning av sensorer och det varierar därför vilka parametrar, av de ovan nämnda, som mäts på respektive plats.

Via Viva kan man även se aktuell sjöväderprognos och sjövädervarningar från SMHI.

Sjöfartsverket ansvarar inte för att alla uppgifter är korrekta. Den som trafikerar ett visst område ansvarar för att göra en bedömning av rådande väder- och vattenförhållanden.

Sjöfartsverket garanterar officiellt att ViVa-appen ska fungera korrekt på nuvarande och förra iOS-versionen. Appen går fortfarande att installera på äldre versioner av iOS, men funktionalitet och buggfixar garanteras inte.
