## What is Vivace?

Your music. Your files. Exactly as recorded — bit-perfect on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Vivace is a local hi-res music player for the lossless library you actually own. No streaming. No account. No cloud. Just drop in your FLAC, ALAC, WAV and DSD files and hear every detail.

TRUE HI-RES, NO RESAMPLING
Every track shows its real format and bit depth — "FLAC 24-bit/96kHz", "DSD64" — so you always know exactly what you're hearing.
• FLAC, Apple Lossless (ALAC), WAV, AIFF, CAF
• AAC / M4A, MP3, Opus
• DSD (.dsf / .dff), decoded to hi-res PCM
• CUE-sheet albums split into individual tracks

BUILT FOR LISTENING
• Gorgeous Now Playing with album art + precise scrubbing
• Gapless playback for live albums and DJ mixes
• 10-band equalizer with presets, bass/treble tone + preamp — free
• Embedded and time-synced lyrics
• Remembers exactly where you left off
• Sleep timer, favourites, fast search
• "For You" suggestions from your own listening

IMPORT ANYTHING
Bring in single files or whole folders from Files, iCloud Drive or a USB drive. CD rips and HD downloads (Bandcamp, HDtracks, Qobuz, 7digital) all welcome.

BROWSE YOUR WAY
By song, album, artist, genre, folder or playlist — with a quick alphabet jump and instant search.

OUTPUT, DONE RIGHT
AirPlay, Bluetooth and USB DAC output, bit-perfect, plus full background and lock-screen controls.

IN YOUR LANGUAGE
37 languages, fully translated — English, 简体中文, 繁體中文, Deutsch, Français, Español, Italiano, Nederlands, Português, Català, Svenska, Dansk, Norsk, Suomi, Polski, Čeština, Slovenčina, Hrvatski, Slovenščina, Български, Română, Magyar, Ελληνικά, Русский, Українська, Türkçe, Lietuvių, Latviešu, Eesti, 日本語, 한국어, ไทย, Tiếng Việt, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu and हिन्दी.

FREE, AND ACTUALLY COMPLETE
The free version is a full local player — every format except DSD, the equalizer, gapless, CUE, lyrics and playback memory. It's supported by a small banner while you browse, plus an occasional full-screen ad when you open the app — never during playback, and never over the player. Vivace Pro removes all of it.

VIVACE PRO — IT'S ABOUT THE SOUND
• iCloud Backup & Sync — back up your whole library, audio files included, to your own private iCloud, and keep it in sync across iPhone, iPad and Mac. Your files, your account; we never see them.
• Headphone crossfeed — soften hard-panned stereo so the mix stops playing inside your head. A natural, out-of-your-head soundstage, on headphones only. Try it for five minutes on your own headphones, right from the Equalizer.
• EQ per output device — keep a different curve for your headphones, your speakers and each Bluetooth device. Vivace switches the moment you plug in.
• The custom equalizer — fine-tune the 10-band curve, unlock all 31 bands, and import AutoEq headphone profiles. Presets, tone and preamp stay free.
• DSD playback — 1-bit DSD (.dsf / .dff), the highest-resolution audio there is.
• ReplayGain — even out loudness between tracks and albums.
• Automatic online lyrics — time-synced words fetched for you (LRCLIB) when none are embedded.
• Listening stats — your most-played songs, artists and albums, and your total listening time.
• Every accent theme, Pro and premium, included.
• Smart Playlists — playlists that build themselves from rules (artist, genre, year, rating, quality) and stay up to date as your library grows.
• Unlimited playlists (free is limited to three).
• No ads, anywhere.

Try Pro free for 7 days, then choose Annual, Monthly or a one-time Lifetime purchase. Monthly and Annual renew automatically until cancelled; Lifetime never renews. Prices are shown in the App Store.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.26 — 2026-08-21

iPad, properly

• Vivace now uses a sidebar on iPad instead of the iPhone's two tabs, so your library, For You, Favourites, Manage Library and Settings are all one tap away.

• Text and controls no longer stretch the full width of a large screen, so the layout stays comfortable to read.

Your music, your folders

• Choose how Vivace adds your music. When you add a folder or files, Vivace now asks whether to copy them in or play them where they are. Playing in place uses no extra storage; a copy keeps playing even if the original folder goes away.

• Change your mind as often as you like. Any source can be switched between using your original files and keeping a copy inside Vivace — individually added songs too.

• Songs Vivace can no longer find can be pointed back at their folder instead of only deleted.

Playback reliability

• Music is steadier. If starting a track ever failed silently, Vivace could show "playing" with no sound at all. More of those failures are now caught, and Vivace recovers instead of sitting there.

• Skipping is more honest. If a track cannot be opened, Next no longer looks like it did nothing while the queue quietly moved on.

• Editing the queue while paused now does what you expect. "Play Next", removing from Up Next and turning on shuffle no longer play the wrong song next.

• The visualiser no longer goes flat after your audio device changes.

Wording, VoiceOver and privacy

• The delete confirmations no longer quote a button that is not on screen — in every language.

• VoiceOver improvements: the A–Z index is now a proper adjustable control, the playback position is spoken in your own language, and two upgrade buttons that were silent now announce themselves.

• An advertising library Vivace no longer uses has been removed from the app entirely.

### 1.0.23 — 2026-08-19

Playback reliability

• Fixed a bug where Vivace could show "playing" while producing no sound at all. The transport and the position readout would freeze, and only changing track brought it back. Vivace now notices within a second and restarts playback by itself; if that does not work it shows an honest paused state instead of pretending to play.

• Changing track does far less work. A song is never read more than once at a time, and reading stops for songs you have already skipped past. Most noticeable on long tracks and with Crossfade switched on.

Search

• Searching is fast again in every non-English library. Every keystroke used to re-process your whole library; that work is now done once and reused, making search quicker than it has ever been. Greek, Thai, Turkish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, German, French and Spanish libraries were all affected.

• Search results now refresh correctly after you edit a song's genre or composer.

### 1.0.22 — 2026-08-18

Get back the space your library was using twice.

• Already added a folder? Manage Library now offers "Use my original files" — Vivace plays those songs from your own files instead of its copies, and gives the copied space back. Your originals are never moved, changed or deleted.
• Each folder can now be included in or left out of iCloud Backup & Sync.
• Imports check free space before they start, and tell you plainly when a file arrives damaged or a folder can't be reached.
• Restore Purchases now reports what happened instead of doing nothing visible.

### 1.0.21 — 2026-08-16

Smoother browsing, a free Crossfeed preview, and two fixes.

• Now Playing: hear Headphone Crossfeed free for five minutes. It is offered with headphones on and music playing, which is the only way to actually hear what it does, and it reverts on its own when the five minutes are up.
• Listening Stats: Top Artists, Songs and Albums now have Show all. They were capped at five with no way past them.
• Browsing is smoother. Albums, Artists, Genres, Composers, Years and Folders no longer re-sort your whole library every time the track changes.
• Fixed a crossfade that could stall while you were scrolling, leaving two tracks briefly audible at once until you lifted your finger.

### 1.0.20 — 2026-08-15

New: Smart Playlists, plus stability and library-integrity fixes from real reports.

• Smart Playlists (Pro): playlists that build themselves from rules — artist, album, genre, composer, year, rating, play count or audio quality — and stay up to date as your library grows. A live match count shows what your rules select before you save.
• Fixed a crash: opening Manage Library while music was playing could pin the CPU and get Vivace shut down by the system. Large libraries were hit hardest.
• Fixed songs that stopped partway and skipped to the next. Some files copy in damaged — the right size, but with gaps — and Vivace was accepting them silently. Imports are now verified, and damaged copies are rejected and reported.
• New: Manage Library ▸ Check for Damaged Files finds any that were already imported, so you can remove them and copy them again.
• Bluetooth and car controls respond more reliably — play, pause, next and previous now take effect immediately instead of queueing behind other work.
• Listening Stats is richer: hi-res vs lossless vs lossy, top genres and decades.
