## What is Vivi Baby?

Vivi Baby is a newborn and parents companion app for iPhone and Apple Watch. Log a feed, a nap or a diaper in a couple of taps, share the log with your partner, and see when your baby last ate or slept. No account is needed.

WHAT YOU CAN LOG
• Breastfeeding with a timer for each side, bottles, formula, combo feeding and solids
• Naps and night sleep, timed live or added afterwards
• Wet, dirty and dry diapers
• Pumping sessions by side and amount
• Growth on WHO charts, CDC milestones, health notes, vaccines, teeth, firsts, routines and a journal

FOR BOTH PARENTS
Each parent logs from their own iPhone, and every entry shows who saved it. Start a timer on one phone and it runs on the other one too, on the Lock Screen through Live Activities and on Apple Watch. Widgets, Siri and Shortcuts help when you only have one free hand. You can invite a grandparent or a nanny, and follow more than one child.

WHERE YOUR DATA LIVES
Vivi saves the log as plain files in your family's own iCloud Drive, an approach inspired by Obsidian. The log isn't uploaded to Vivi's servers. Shared live timers go through a small relay that only sees anonymous timer state. No ads, no tracking. You can import your history from other baby tracking apps and export it as CSV whenever you like.

FREE, EXCEPT THREE ADVANCED FEATURES
Everything above is free. Vivi Plus adds:
• Checkups: gathers growth, medical notes, recent stats and your questions before a pediatrician visit.
• Nap Prediction (Sleepy Time in the app): estimates the next nap and bedtime from your baby's age and sleep history.
• Insights: spots patterns in what you log and compares them with WHO, CDC and AAP guidance, linking each source.

Vivi Plus is a monthly or yearly subscription with a free trial, and it works with Apple Family Sharing. It renews automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel anytime in Settings.

WHO MAKES IT
Tom, a senior software engineer in Québec, Canada, built Vivi with his wife around their daughter. They keep adding to it as she grows.

Vivi Baby is not a medical device and does not give medical advice. Ask a health professional about your child's health.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.0.3 — 2026-10-15

- Today now has a tile for Feed, Diaper, Pump and Routine with the day’s count. Tap a tile to see it in History, or tap + to log one.
- You can hide the button bar at the bottom of Today. “Customize Today” is now also in Preferences.
- Each phone now keeps its own activities. Hiding or moving a chip or a Book tile no longer changes them on the other parent’s phone.

- And over 100 bugfixes in this release:
- In Spanish and Portuguese, Today no longer stays blank and freezes the app.
- A damaged family file or entry can no longer close the app on every phone or make a child disappear.
- When two parents change the same entry or child settings, both changes are kept, even offline.
- Records changed on two phones while offline no longer show twice, and deleted ones stay deleted.
- A timer stopped or discarded on another phone no longer comes back or saves a wrong length.
- A pause, side switch or note made on another phone is no longer lost or undone.
- No more double timers when Vivi, Siri, a widget, Apple Watch or another phone start one at the same time.
- Lock Screen and Dynamic Island timers keep updating after a weak connection or a day offline.
- Apple Watch and the widgets now show a sleep and a feed or pump at the same time.
- A timer started and stopped on Apple Watch away from the phone now also stops on the phone.
- A diaper or bottle logged on Apple Watch is saved once.
- When you stop a sleep with Siri, a widget or Apple Watch, the next nap appears on the other phones too.
- Correcting the end of a timed sleep, feed or pump is no longer undone by another phone.
- A note typed in a running timer is kept when you close the timer screen.
- Resuming a feed, pump or sleep keeps its photos and the times and side you set.
- Reminders now ring at the exact time and stay off when you turn them off.
- Reminders follow what you log with Siri, a widget, the Lock Screen or Apple Watch, even when Vivi is closed.
- A feed or pump reminder no longer rings during a timed feed or pump.
- Reminders are no longer cancelled while iCloud is still downloading them.
- The Dynamic Island now looks like the Lock Screen: icon, name, time and Stop in one row.
- Close and Save are now clear buttons at the top of every form.
- Removing a photo now shows a clear X and asks first.
- Deleting an entry now also deletes its photos, and every copy goes to the trash.
- Forms wait while they save or add a photo, so nothing is lost.
- A number that is not valid, such as “-1”, now shows in red instead of clearing the saved value.
- If something can’t be saved or deleted, the screen stays open with your changes and tells you why.
- Imports no longer overwrite or double entries changed on another phone, and keep a copy of each entry they replace.
- Re-importing your own export no longer replaces your entries with less complete copies.
- Exports tell you if some entries can’t be read. Checkup answers and medicine doses now export and import correctly.
- Search: “10am” is no longer read as a date, diapers can be found by type, older matches show up, and apostrophes work.
- If you rename or move your family folder in Files, Vivi finds it again.
- After you reinstall Vivi or set up a new iPhone, your family opens again.
- You can join another shared family from the Family tab again.
- When you leave or remove a family, its timers stop coming to your phone.
- Today’s plan shows bedtime during the bedtime sleep, adds the extra nap after two short naps, and no longer plans a nap during a sleep started on another phone.
- Days with only the night logged, such as daycare days, no longer throw off Sleepy Time, Insights or checkups.
- Insights wait until your whole history is on a new iPhone.
- In a checkup, notes, questions and answers saved on two phones are all kept.
- When “Live Activity while timers run” is off, timers from other phones and Apple Watch no longer appear on the Lock Screen.
- And much much more!

### 1.0.2 — 2026-10-10

Bonjour, hola, hallo, olá, こんにちは! Vivi Baby now speaks French, Spanish, German, Portuguese and Japanese!

- Ounces are here. Pick fl oz or mL, lb or kg, in or cm, and °F or °C in Family → Preferences → Units, for bottles, pumping, growth and temperature, on iPhone and Apple Watch. New families start in your iPhone's units.
- On iPhones with iOS 18, the Today list, History, Trends and Checkups show your entries again.
- Health and Checkups now show the photos on medical and vaccine entries. Tap one to see it full screen, then pinch to zoom.
- On the growth charts, a measurement's details stay open when you lift your finger, and they show how much changed since the last one. Tap an empty spot on the chart to close them.
- Tap a growth entry on Today, in History or in Search to open its chart.
- Hours in History and Trends now match your iPhone's 12- or 24-hour clock.
- Nara Baby imports keep amounts and medicine doses written with a decimal comma.
- Sleepy Time ignores sleeps of just a few minutes, so a quick doze no longer moves the next nap.
- When a sleep ends on another phone or on Apple Watch, the next nap Live Activity now appears without opening the app.
- The Dynamic Island timer no longer covers the Wi-Fi and signal icons. Its numbers are bigger and centered.
- During a breastfeed, the Left and Right buttons and their times respond to the first tap.
- A pause or resume from Apple Watch no longer undoes itself a moment later.
- Pull to refresh, or coming back to the app, brings in new entries sooner and does less work in the background.
- When an entry shows up twice after edits on two phones and the first merge fails, Vivi Baby tries again a few minutes later. You no longer have to restart the app.
- After a few days, Vivi Baby may ask you once to rate it on the App Store.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-10-04

- New: import your history from Baby Tracker.
- Imports are safer and more reliable: they never move, replace or duplicate entries you already have, and imports into a new child now work.
- Edits made on two phones at the same time are no longer lost, and an edit no longer comes back undone.
- Notes and checkup answers that contain a line of dashes no longer make the entry disappear.
- Reminders now show while the app is open, and one-time reminders set days ahead now ring.
- When two caregivers change reminders at the same time, both sets of changes are kept.
- Resume after Stop now keeps the bottle amount, the pumped amounts and any times you corrected.
- An open timer no longer undoes a side switch or pause made on Apple Watch or the Lock Screen.
- Apple Watch buttons work right after you start a timer, and quick taps are applied in order.
- Stopping a timer from the Lock Screen now updates the widgets and Apple Watch right away, and it also works for a timer started on another phone.
- The sleep widget now always does what its button shows.
- If you use Vivi Baby with more than one family, pumping sessions, timers and entries always stay in the right family.
- Removing a photo and then closing without saving keeps the photo.
- A food you typed in Solids is saved even if you didn't press Return.
- Growth percentiles update when you change your baby's sex or birth date.
- For babies born early, the app shows their real age and the time until the due date, instead of a wrong age.
- Checkup answers stay with the right question, and answering no longer crashes when a question was deleted on another phone.
- Joining a shared family during setup no longer leaves an extra empty family behind.
- Tapping a pumping Live Activity no longer switches to another child.
- "Reset shared timer access" now tells you if it couldn't finish, so a removed caregiver no longer sees your timers.
- The Insight notifications and Reminders switches in Preferences now turn on and off when you tap them.
- When you change your name on another device, the new name now shows right away.
- If you belong to more than one family, each family now shows only its own pumping sessions.
- A very long sleep now shows on the day it ends, and an entry at exactly midnight shows only on the new day.
- Exported files now keep routine durations and checkup appointment times, and tell you if some entries couldn't be included.
- If saving fails, the editor stays open with your entry and tells you why.
- Resuming a saved sleep can no longer lose it.
- A note or photo you add before starting a feed or pump timer is now kept.
- Edited reminders now show their new text.
- Paused timers stop counting on Apple Watch and in widgets.
- The Live Activity counter now keeps the total time after a side switch or Resume.
- A timer shared with another phone no longer starts its Live Activity twice.
- After you leave a family, its timers no longer come back on this phone.
