Primary use within the app is knowing when my autopay will be deducted, Metrics appear to have zero accuracy. This isn’t app related, but company send a sales man by every other week (via different contractors) to upsell me on panels. ### 2/5 — Highly disappointed *2021-05-23, version 1.97.2* This app is mediocre at best. It provides no real-time production data and no data for specific panels. It sometimes takes days to even provide daily production totals. ### 2/5 — Great System App just ok *2021-05-01, version 1.97.2* just had system installed the entire process went smooth. But this app hasn’t been smooth. this app isn’t designed to run on max size iphone hard to navigate app because of this. No information. Gross production is displayed, but no usage, no integration with power company. Where it has the amount it doesn’t open up like it’s supposed to. every time I go on it it freezes on me it’s not showing me all my information and when I go to manage my account it doesn’t let me scroll up or down ### 2/5 — No production data for last ten days *2020-11-29, version 1.89.1* Got a upgrade of 12 panels in first week of Oct. Took until late Nov. to turn on panels (In fairness, delay issue can be shared by: the township, the utility, Vivint and the pandemic). However, for 10 days now, no production numbers are shown on Viv app...only a consistent " Data Failure" pop up. Also, have NEVER found the..... "each individual panel production can be accessed" Viv app feature. I've only ever displayed production of the entire system (2 stars because at least full system production had been displayed correctly, previously). (If I am missing something on the Vivint app that displays individual panel production, I would like to be educated as to where this feature is on the app). **Developer response:** Thank you for reaching out! There is nothing worse when the company just gives you lip service about problems with the app. You would think the company would actually have concerns and appreciate their customers comments and improve the app. Apparently not so with this company. Thank you! ### 2/5 — Mediocre *2020-09-02, version 1.85.5* The app, and website for that matter, provides only basic production information. Not much in the way of details on how specific panels are performing. The thing that really gets me is the complete lack, or apparent lack, of providing a stable app experience. Take Nest integration for example. Basically useless. You are unable to sign up as an new user because google disabled nest integration a year ago. There has been ample time to either provide an update to google assistant for new users, or just remove the nest button if that’s not workable. Basically I feel this shows that the app does not receive the priority it should from Vivint. Thank you! ### 2/5 — Poor UX, buggy, and lack of feature *2020-08-29, version 1.85.5* First off, it is a buggy, slow app. For no reason, it kicks me out, crashes frequently and is very slow to respond. Secondly, the menus are not intuitive or beautiful. Third, it lacks some important features. It doesn’t show your production vs consumption. It doesn’t link with Eversource. A good luck reading your statement ### 1/5 — Bad decision, full of regret *2020-06-07, version 1.84.0* Where is the savings? I’m not seeing it. You Bill is as high as the electric company’s bill. Why is that? Pigeons have taken over my roof, your solution is pay us more money to keep them out, it’s nonsense. This is why you don’t have more people with solar panels. Lastly, why isn’t the account information available using the app such as payment information? Please explain. ### 1/5 — Of no use *2020-06-02, version 1.84.0* I can’t tell you how much I hate this app. This app does nothing in terms of providing data on our solar system. The reported kWh hours reported as being generated are always incorrect. It sometimes takes days to get the actual kWh generated. When we were being pitched on Vinint solar we were told about this awesome app that would tell us about kWh produced and that we would be able to see what each panel was producing and that based on that info we could make adjustments to the system. Well none of that happens with this app. We spent an exorbitant amount of money on this system and we have no way to monitor it except by the monthly bills we get from our utility company. Don’t waste your time on this app it will only frustrate you. Sorry I couldn’t give it NO stars. **Developer response:** Thank you for letting us know. Thank you! ### 1/5 — Barely works *2020-05-02, version 1.84.0* Usually get some error message saying something wrong with the solar System when the system is fine the app is garbage. If you’re lucky to get any reading it’s way behind and not accurate. Don’t understand why the app is so unreliable and inaccurate. ### 2/5 — Email change *2020-04-27, version 1.84.0* Customers should be able to change email addresses in the app, but they can’t. Lots of issues with daily reporting where data gets pulled from prior day. Some days no reports available. Recent update did not address those issues. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Terrible *2022-12-02, version 1.98.1* This is the worst app I have ever attempted to use it won’t let sign in under my information so I had to change the password after that it says I don’t have a account nothing but problems ### 1/5 — The company is a fraud and their app *2022-08-05, version 1.98.1* Getting solar panels for our home from vivint /sunrun is the worst financial mistake I have ever made. I got tricked by their smooth but snake sales person that was very persistent and I became the idiot that bought into the lies he sold me. I am actively seeking legal help to go after this horrible company and sales rep. because I am on social security disability with very limited income that use to pay no more thank $65 - $75 in the winter and only one month during the summer I paid about $250 to cool our home because I am on a special utility discount. Since the dammed month We got vivint solar our bill is $170 to $180 & will increase every February about 4% or higher. We can’t even view how much our solar panels are producing nor can I view my bills. I tried since the 1st bill we got from the fraudulent solar company to get the panels removed and get back on the grid but the same snake sales rep. Told me that he’s gonna help me by contracting Vivint knowing that our contract with them will not allow us to do so. I contacted them in person as well and I got the same response. This horrible company took advantage of a disabled person with very low income and is holding me hostage to their solar contract with Vivint / sunrun. I hope this will help people that are getting pouched by this fraud company and get them to slam the door at their sales rep’s and save themselves a lot of headaches. Same on you Vivint / sunrun solar ### 1/5 — Horrible So Far *2021-01-20, version 1.97.2* We have had our system on a new home build for a month and still get the data failure notice after numerous calls to them and two visits by a technician. Nobody can tell me why my system is not communicating with this app. Absolutely horrible customer service. I have been promised two call backs by a Supervisor and not once have they returned the call. After this experience, I will not use this company in the future nor will I refer them to anyone. And it doesn’t seem to report on a real time basis whatsoever. Looking like production data posts up twice a day?? The customer support from corporate was seriously lacking. Had to reach out to my salesperson for help and he had to even say I was reaching out to him everyday. Which was not true. I gave corporate several days in between inquiries they just never took the time to reach out to me. The thermostat widget is useless. Takes me to what appears to be the Honeywell site but when I load in my login credentials I’m told they don’t exist. However I can browse directly to Honeywell website and login directly myself with same credentials. Happy to have solar. I’d like it to provide more information. More importantly, it continues to crash daily! I’m tired of seeing “try again later”. Also never updates on the hour like it’s supposed too. Needs a lot of optimization and updates! Please fix! ### 1/5 — Cannot even get registration to work! *2020-08-12, version 1.85.5* Part of registration requires confirmation email. I clicked confirm. Then some “cute” Vivint screen tells me something went wrong on their end. Went back to confirm email and hit again. It says “don’t worry we will send you a new link in about 5 minutes: that was 90 Minutes ago now and no email!!! The app doesn’t show any data so I have no idea how much power my solar panels are producing. Vivint needs to find a better solution fast because this is hurting your reputation. Right now I cannot recommend Vivint solar became the app is so bad. And no one answers the phone and emails take two days to get a response. This app has days lag in showing if your system is producing and when there are any issues or concerns it’s always a “call us” response. I want to see real time solar production and have had better results with other companies. Save your time, money and frustrations and go with someone else. I’m done. Don’t go with Vivint Solar. I looked at reviews before and some people suggested that the app doesn’t report but I became familiarized with the function and most people seem like they just need a data reboot. I have no power bill except for the equipment subscription I have through Vivint. In fact the power company will owe me money because I produce more than I consume. That’s a definite plus. Now for the app itself, I was hoping to know individual panel power production, and how much I am using compared to how much is supplying the power grid. (I’m sure if I compare my electric bill to Vivints bill I could figure it out) at any rate, the app is slightly buggy, sometimes not always displaying the previous months’ power production so I can compare. It will usually not update according to the month I’m trying to look at. And for that I give it a 4*. Keep updating the infrastructure of the app, and it’ll be perfect! Thank you! ### 4/5 — Works Fine For Me *2020-08-16, version 1.85.5* Just got the app last week and it wasn’t working properly (i.e. wasn’t showing the solar production from the system). Went online and found Vivint’s troubleshooting guide, followed the steps and the app started working great! I have had no issues since. Basically had to shut off the system for 30 seconds, then reboot. Would be nice to see each solar panel production, but that’s a minor detail. Here is definitely some issues with consistency as far as loading the data and for some reason Saturday data is never real time.
