I've had so many issues with this tracker. It doesn't always sync my steps even though it says it's synced. Sometimes it will just shut completely off altogether. I reset it all the time. It chooses when it wants to work. Very poor quality. I love the watch but the main thing I got it for was to see messages when I can't use my phone. It says it's connected but still no notifications. ### 1/5 — Go buy a Fitbit *2016-12-23* I purchased this because it seemed like a good cheap alternative to the Fitbit. Turns out you get what you pay for. It was suppose to update device after pairing it with the phone but never updated. Called and emailed costumer support multiple times and they didn't help at all. I'm guessing I was taking to some Chinese man who barely spoke English. Go buy the Fitbit. It's more money but you will be 100x happier with product. I just returned it. I tried it on took some steps and it would not show, after probably 20 steps it showed as if I took three. The app kept saying waiting for device to connect, but it just wouldn’t. If I could give a half star, I would. The only thing on the watch that actually works is the time, although you have to set it yourself. If you are planning to connect device good luck. Hopefully I can find all my parts as it’s going back to the pits of hell from which it came. I will "lose" my morning steps and it will "take away" about half my sleep. It will also go into nap mode, but I have nap mode off on the app. I cannot find and online support to try to rectify this. Once this issue is resolved, I will like it more. ### 2/5 — Can't connect *2019-04-07* I was so excited to use this because of all the great fetures but the problem is I've been trying to connect this thing for hours and it just won't work very disappointed 😟 ### 2/5 — Initial setup a pain and works sometimes if opened daily. *2017-09-16, version 1.5.3* 11/26/16 The device was $15 for a Black Friday special. I like the screen and the animations it has for text, phone, and even Facebook notifications. It was frustrating, however, trying to set this up with my iPhone 6 because it required a firmware update on the unit from the get go. It took me at least 12 times to get it to finally update the firmware. Not sure who to blame: Vivitar or Apple (There was no problem for my friend setting it up his on his HTC phone). I'm sure a lot of these got returned because of that. Okay app but not sure yet of the accuracy. I refuse to give more stars due to the initial pain of setting it up. - - - - 11/28/16 Needs to add support with Apple's Health app. Otherwise it would get more stars. - - - - - 12/11/16 Updated review: I have lowered from 3 stars to 2 stars for the sole reason that if you don't open the app at least once a day, it does not synchronize with your phone. That's pretty stupid in my opinion. Should be a setting to set an auto-sync at a specific time if it is a battery issue. Sleep tracking is off, as well. I set it to sleep at 11pm and it always starts tracking at Midnight. It did not do this initially. - - - - 2/12/2017 Sigh. Down to 1 star for this unsatisfactory product. I can't get this thing to send me notifications anymore. Tried to unpair and pair several times. Tried forgetting the device and pairing again but to no avail. Randomly loses my steps and restarts. Really poor software. - - - - 5/17/2017 Most recent update has brought back notifications pushed to the device. Yay! Now it is back up a couple stars. - - - - 9/15/2017 Preordered an Apple Watch. This Vivitar tracker is going in the trash. ### 2/5 — TYL-5100 *2016-11-26* Bought a couple of these for the Black Friday . I've opened 2 one of them didn't work so returned it . But the one I use works fine and I really like how it works with iOS . I like how I can notified with a message and can read it .
