The strange thing is the execute command is able to toggle some of my hue light bulbs but not others of the exact same type. The app was able to discover all lights but it is not able to control all. Also, the app is able to display the status of my Lutron dimmers but again the toggle command doesn’t work. ### 3/5 — Password Issues *2023-10-05* unable to login the macOS app or the iPad app. Resetting the password for one prevents the other one from working. ### 2/5 — Platz nach oben *2023-10-01* Die Idee ist super. Die App bietet viele Möglichkeiten zum Customising. Allerdings fehlt noch die wichtige Möglichkeit, wirklich alle Merkmale/Characterics von Geräten auszulesen und darzustellen, die über HomeKit kommuniziert werden, z.B. für einen Smart-Socket der derzeitige Stromverbrauch oder der Batterie Status eines Gerätes. Die anderen beiden Sterne gibt es, wenn das o.g. umgesetzt wurde 😉 Anscheinend wird die App aber nicht weiter entwickelt. Schade. ### 3/5 — Liked it at first, starting to have issues *2023-01-17* Ok, I have contacted the makers of this app several times on Facebook and have received responses although they have been slow to respond. Now I am having issues where I have remotes created for my iPhone and my iPad. The exact assignments for each and every device are programmed into the different remotes, yet I am having inconsistent results. Some devices work on the iPhone but do not work on the iPad and vice versa. This is crazy. I have changed names thinking that MAYBE it’s a cache issue. Who knows. I have asked the makers to allow the end user to clear the cache on their servers, but I haven’t received an answer to that question. If not for these issues, this would be a 5 star app. I even offered to help troubleshoot with logs, or whatever they need, but NO RESPONSE. ### 4/5 — Tons of potential *2022-10-06* Can’t really explain enough, but everything is by far the best and somewhat easiest way to get a home dashboard exactly the way you want it. Small learning curve with the PC Application, however when you take the time to get to know how everything works this is some solid stuff. With that said there’s a reason why I can’t give it the full 5 stars just yet. Seems as if development has either slowed or seized completely as there hasn’t been any improvements or bug fixes don’t to the applications. After spending hours creating my perfect dashboard it troubles me to say I won’t be able to utilize it unless device status can update stably. I’ve reported the issue multiple times to the dev team hoping for some sort of good outcome since no one else comes close to their level of ease when creating your dashboard. More info on the issue if the development team sees this review. I have icons on my home page of the dashboard that will change color depending if a device is on or off. The icon will change and update to the appropriate color 100% of the time when the device is told to turn on or off through the dashboard itself. However, if the device is toggled physically through a light switch or other physical means the status doesn’t update constantly. With my luck it only updates and works for a short time if I close the application, open the home app on the iPad, and reopen the Viz Designer application. At that point it will update the status of the device even when the device is physically switched on or off with a light switch. But give it a few minutes of the dashboard just sitting there ‘idle’ or when the iPad itself locks, the issue will rise again. ### 5/5 — Allmächtiges Dashboard-Tool *2022-03-09* Ich bin unglaublich begeistert von VIZ Designer. Es ist ein wirklich allmächtiges Tool, was keine meiner Wünsche bzgl. der Herstellung von Dashboards zur HomeKit-Steuerung offen lässt. ### 4/5 — Passcode pop-up stuck behind video cameras. *2022-02-25* This is a great app. I have been able to make a unique HomeKit display by importing my own images. I would have given the app 5 stars but there seems to be a problem with passcode pop-up. When I press my security bottom the passcode pop-up is displayed in the middle of the screen, right where my cameras are. No matter what I have tried, I can’t not get the pop-up to display in front of the camera images. Is it possible to have the passcode pop-up display in front of the cameras? **Developer response:** Thank you for your rating! We are already working on that issue and it will be fixed in the next update. ;) ### 2/5 — Preis / Leistung stimmt nicht *2022-02-23* Für die konzeptionelle Idee gebe ich zwei Sterne. Leider habe ich mich zu vor eilig entschlossen und die App gekauft ohne sie zu testen. Die Umsetzung in eigene Designs erinnert stark an Windows, ich vermisse hier die Style Guides von Apple. Da die App auf HomeKit von Apple aufsetzt, ist es verwunderlich, warum nicht die bereits vorhandene iCloud zur Synchronisation verwendet wird und stattdessen ein Account in der App selbst angelegt werden muss. Unklar ist mir ebenfalls, warum ich für jedes Endgerät (iPhone oder Tablet) zwischen verschiedenen Geräten auswählen muss. Hier fehlt das Auto scaling was automatisch zwischen Hochformat und Querformat umschaltet. Gewünscht hätte ich mir für den Preis auch eine umfangreiche Bibliothek mit Knöpfen Schaltern Layouts und gegebenenfalls auch bereits vorhandene Templates von anderen schicken Ideen. Ja, das kann man alles in diesem Programm auch alles selber einstellen aber weniger kann an anderen Stellen auch mehr sein. Ein echter Mangel der App ist allerdings, dass man nach einem ausgewählten Layout nicht mehr ins Setup Programm zurückkommt und die App jedes Mal killen muss. **Developer response:** Hallo @Cwiki59, schade, dass dir der VIZ Designer nicht gefällt. Um in das Setup Menü der App zu kommen, musst du vom unterem Bildschirmrand mit zwei Fingern nach oben wischen. Zero support. It appears that the developer has abandoned this app but happy to continue to take your money. No support contact on the website. I reach out to the developer via their FB page and have heard nothing back. It is a good app, but I think the longevity of it is limited. Expect a future update on to HomeKit will break something and the developer won’t fix it. New home automation products will likely not work either. I wish someone had written this review before I purchased. Buyer beware. ### 1/5 — Poor design and no updates *2023-11-20* Very buggy and the integration is very clunky! I would say they need to update the user interface and be able to use full home templates! I have several issues with the app and have been trying to get support. They come back with one line responses. After several more support request approx 4, they have now agreed to look at the log files to check what was happening. This was almost 6 weeks ago now and even after several attempts to find a solution I have been completely ignored. All I can say is if you are not willing to support the app for actually paying customers then take it down. ### 1/5 — ich bin nicht ünerzeugt *2022-03-31* obwohl ich dafür Geld bezahlt habe, muss ich dafür zusätzlich auch noch mit meinen Daten bezahlen, d.h. ich muss ein mediola-Konto anlegen, wofür?… das wird nicht erklärt. Konto mit Apple login wird nicht angeboten, daher müsste ich eine gültige Email Adresse angeben, die dann voraussichtlich zugespamt wird. Echt jetzt? Ausserdem habe ich dann auch noch ein ungutes Gefühl damit, einer Drittsoftware Zugang zu Homekit zu erteilen. Ist dann z.B. mein Secure Video noch „secure“? Ich verbuche den Kaufpreis unter Verlust und lösche die App wieder. **Developer response:** Hallo cz_2011, im mediola-Konto werden für die Synchronisation mit der VIZ Desktopanwendung die HomeKit-Daten gespeichert sowie die dann erstellten Fernbedienungen, welche man in seine VIZ-App dann herunterlädt. Sowohl die exportierten HomeKit-Daten als auch die Fernbedienungen können anschließend wieder vom Server gelöscht werden. Die erstellen Fernbedienungen können trotzdem weiter verwendet werden. Die Abfrage und Steuerung der Geräte inkl. Kameras erfolgt über die offizielle HomeKit-API von Apple. You have to exit App to load Remotes. Remotes don’t get deleted from server. Not usable as it is now IMO. ### 1/5 — Zahlen für App in Alpha-Verion *2022-02-08* Wenngleich sehr vielversprechend, was Idee und Ansatz anbelangt, letztlich eine enorme Enttäuschung, was die Umsetzung betrifft. 1 Stern für die gute Idee und die richtige Richtung. Alle anderen Sterne fehlen, weil es eine Frechheit ist, Kunden dafür zahlen zu lassen, im Grunde eine Alpha-Version der App „testen zu dürfen“, die unzählige Bugs und Todos enthält. Wir sehen dann zu, dass wir nachbessern können. ### 1/5 — Glitchy HomePods also a no go *2022-02-07* Gave the app a shot (it definitely has potential), but once I got the lights in the rooms with their custom widgets, the app would crash each time a tried to toggle the lights on. Have you maybe tried to download the app on your Mac? The app is only designed to run on mobile devices (iPhones, iPads, iPods). However when using a Mac with a M1 Chip unfortunately the app store also allows you to download the VIZ Designer App. We hope that this already solves your issue. While they include a TON of pre-made controls and buttons, I absolutely love how much control you have to create a completely unique design by easily importing your own custom button and background images. They also support importing .gif files which allowed me to create some cool animations for the panel. They have been very quick to respond to any issues I had. My only wish is that they update the app to include custom button click sound effect controls. ### 5/5 — Great for people with some skills *2024-09-13* This is not an entry level app, and it's not perfect. But this is the closest thing to a customizable home console app for homekit I could find, and it's pretty amazing. I've had an iPad pro displaying a "home console" designed with Viz Designer on my entry wall for the past 6 months. Techy friends are impressed with it and I love showing them what it can do. While I had some trouble getting it up and running, it's been working near perfectly 24/7 for the past 6 months. ### 5/5 — Great app, one minor issue though *2024-06-14* I put my iPad into guided access. Works well no issues until the last update. Over night, the app appears to crash. No reason why. Attempted to reinstall it and it’s still crashing in the middle of the night. Habe mehrere Apps probiert… KEINE, absolut keine ist in der Lage wirklich eine gute und schöne Übersicht darzustellen… (Ich nutze ein altes iPhone 6S dafür) Und dann: VIZ Designer probiert! Es ist sooooo einfach ein Dashboard damit zu erstellen! Und es ist mächtig, flexibel, schnell… Dad Ergebnis ist wunderschön, genau was ich suchte, die Frau ist super Happy („warum hast du dies nicht früher gemacht? 😌) Ich bin begeistert und empfehle es absolut uneingeschränkt! ### 5/5 — Wall Mounted iPad HomeKit Looks Great *2022-08-07* It is a little expensive…but I really like the fact that I am able to make my wall mounted iPad look almost exactly how I want. I do wish that a few more themes were available to download and REALLY wish air quality was an option along with the temperature and humidity. It was a little hard to figure out in the beginning (I.E. true and false values rather than some kind of easier drop down), but anyone who wants to use their iPads as a HomeKit admin is sure to figure it out like I did - the YouTube videos are helpful. Only things I’d necessarily ask: Are their any ways to download more themes? Can you add air quality sensor compatibility? Any way to have outdoor weather added? Eigentlich per Zufall, hier sollte die Firma Mediola noch was tun, damit man ihre echt supergemachte App schneller findet.
