## What is VLAMO Fanfarekampioenschap?

Op 15 maart 2020 vindt het VLAMO Open Fanfarekampioenschap plaats. Dit kampioenschap is een open kampioenschap waar binnen- en buitenlandse toporkesten (niveau superieure afdeling) aan kunnen deelnemen. Het kampioenschap start om 13.30 uur!

De wedstrijd wordt niet opgedeeld in afdelingen, alle fanfareorkesten spelen een verplicht werk en vervolgens een keuzeprogramma. De winnaar neemt een uniek kunststuk mee naar huis en mag zich tot 2022 VLAMO Open Fanfarekampioen noemen.

Voor het verplichte werk gaf VLAMO een compositieopdracht aan Nick Van Elsen. Zijn compositie kreeg de titel “The Promised Continent” mee en gaat over de immense vluchtelingenstroom die op gang kwam tijdens de Syrische burgeroorlog.
