However it really sucks that I cant buy it , theres no way im paying yearly for any remote . Im using the free version but i would go pro otherwise   . VLC IS THE BEST MEDIA PLAYER . Thanks team

I got very excited about this after buying my first ever external display and struggling with media control without holding my MacBook. But immediately it became clear the connection was not working as often as it was. Unreliable and therefore pretty useless, akin to an old TV remote where you had to rub the batteries in your hands to get it to work because your dad was too cheap to replace them.

This is really helpful. The only thing that I think would improve it is the ability to play/pause from the lock screen. Is this something that is possible?

This app works extremely well for what it is meant to do. The only thing I have against it is that it seems the UI has not been updated since 2007 when the first iPhone came out. Aside from that, it’s great!

When it disconnects I have to restart my computer. If computer display turns off after idle time and when resuming video, the audio gets choppy and have to restart VLC player. Regretting I’ve subscribed for this

Hi devs. Great app thank you so much. However, when opening the app it pauses the file playing on the laptop. Which is problematic for me when I’m running a non theatrical cinema! Would be great if this bug could be fixed. I’m running it on an MacBook Pro 2017 and and iPhone SE latest

As the title says, app is great. Full featured and powerful.
The one function that they appear to have overlooked and failed to address (and that comes in necessary quite frequently) is the lack of an ability to respond to dialogue boxes on the local machine. They can pop up over the video, requiring physical presence at the keyboard/mouse/trackpad in order to respond, negating the point of the app.

This Remote VLC would be perfect had the play/pause button been at least consistent. I can’t unpause a video, only pause it. What a shame.

I paid the 4.99 and it wasn’t worth it, the app has to be restarted after a couple min cause it loses connection and won’t even find my pc until I close and restart, needless to say I definitely won’t be renewing my subscription, had a lot of hope for this app too pretty disappointing.

This is just stupid. I just use the actual VLC app from video lan for free. Not a trial or demo the full VLC player app for free to use on my phone and across other devices. It's available for windowsOS for free as well. It's a great open source player and played all if not most formats. You can use it for multiple things too. Like ripping DVDs/blu-ray, burning DVDs/blu-ray. I'm even able to use it as a video capture device from VHS to digital on my PC. I just don't see the advantage of paying $20 for this when you get use the real VideoLan player for free from the actual developer.

I bought the full version of this app back in 2010. Now that I return back to iOS, I find that my purchase is non-existent. I'm instead asked to download the free app and pay $5/year just to use the app I already bought an indefinite license to, over 12 years ago. F*** this immortal company. Gonna get another remote app instead, or use the dozens on Android. iOS really fell off. Shm.
