## What is vmux Agent Console?

vmux is a native companion app for the self-hosted vmux server, built for developers running multiple CLI coding agents in tmux.

Connect to your vmux server over LAN, Tailscale, or an SSH tunnel, then monitor which panes are idle, working, blocked for input, or in error. The app keeps the attention queue first, so the panes that need you are easy to find.

vmux is self-hosted. There is no vmux cloud account, no third-party analytics, no advertising SDK, and no developer-operated relay. Your app talks to the server address you configure, and tokens are stored in the system Keychain.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-08-11

vmux now includes an Apple Watch app. Connect the Watch directly to your vmux
server to see the bounded Review queue and answer safe fixed-choice decisions,
with the iPhone relay available as a fallback.

New workspace navigation groups agents and panes by Git worktree, keeps loose
sessions easy to find, and routes notifications into the right workspace.

Create detached tmux sessions, windows, and split panes inside server-approved
project roots, using Shell or configured coding-agent runtimes. New targets open
automatically when they appear.

Pane completion and acknowledgement are clearer across Queue, Review, details,
and notifications. Agent text is cleaned of runtime markup before display.

Quiet but healthy live connections now stay live without repeatedly showing
the fallback-updates status.

Session detail is faster to scan and resume: current work, blockers, decisions,
unread changes, and the next useful action stay together. Decision replies can
continue directly into an editable Chat follow-up, with improved large-text
reflow and preserved drafts when switching sessions or retrying a message.

Review acknowledgements now explain what will happen before you confirm them.

Timeline events are easier to identify and can take you directly back to the
relevant agent.

Agent cards, review screens, conversations, and details now remove runtime
markup before displaying session text.
