The premade buttons are nice I actually kept a lot of then when I don't normally. The range of voices are good as well. However there are two problems I have with the typing section. You can't click back to a specific spot fix typos like when typing regularly. I could understand this as a setting, but not as something I don't have a choice in because it means I have to go all the way back erasing everything which makes something already slow even slower. A smaller problem but I would enjoy a button to erase it all at once instead of having to press backspace a lot. ### 4/5 — Vocable *2026-03-06* I am glad you added numbers but, did you need to remove the trash feature as well that was very useful and needs to be put back in the app, please find away to restore it to the App! Sometimes I want to edit a custom phrase and I have to delete the whole thing and write it out again, which is very taxing. I Have 2 Recommendations That I Think Could Improve The Overall Function Of This App. Recommendation One, Keyboard Options. I Understand That The Keyboard Used In This App Is Mainly Targeted For Both Younger Audiences And People Who Find It More Difficult To Read And Spell. I Think It Should Be Made Possible To Toggle To A Users Phone Used Keyboard To Make The App More Inclusive. As A Neurodivergent Teen And On The Older Side Of Your Audience, I Find The Apps Current Keyboard Very Difficult To Use. Other Reviewers Of My Age Range Also Have Mentioned How Frustrating The Keyboard Is To Use Due To How Slow It Is. I’m Not Saying Remove The Original Keyboard Entirely, I Am Simply Saying To Make It Possible To Use My Current Phone Keyboard As Well. My Last Recommendation Would Be The Ability To Re-Order Your Set Phrases, That Way You Can Order The Most Used Phrases To Be At The Top Of The List In A Category While The Least Used Phrases Can Be Moved To The End Of The List. It’s actually horrendous to try and write sentences in the midst of a conversation. Although… *2022-11-26* I love the app! I am a neurodivergent teen who’s been searching for a simple AAC application. I personally do not like the pictures on word tiles in different applications, so I like that it’s Just text. You can easily make your own word tiles and put it in different categories. You can make your own categories as well. Everything about it is great, but I do have some suggestions. The application gives you the option to manually type out your sentences, which is an awesome feature, however by default the keyboard is in alphabetical order, and not the usual QWERTY keyboard format. I think this should be a toggle feature, where users can choose between those keyboard formats. Some users can be used to the QWERTY keyboard format, and find it hard to communicate with the keyboard efficiently. I also recommend adding a feature to be able to choose a different voice, and/or choosing the app theme. Some individuals might be sensitive to different visuals. I also think the head movement feature should also be off by default, and can be enabled in settings. Other than that, I will continue to use this app, as it’s (in my opinion) the simplest AAC app in the app store! - Finley L., 16yo ### 4/5 — Good but *2022-11-26, version 1.4.2* Why the flashing red notification saying I should be closer to my device? Would give it 5 stars if it worked. Though it may just be that I'm using this on my laptop and this is made for tablets. ### 1/5 — Unter VoiceOver nicht barrierefrei *2020-04-28, version 1.3* die App ist für blinde und sehbehinderte Menschen nicht barrierefrei. Blinde und sehbehinderte Menschen arbeiten in der Regel mit VoiceOver. Viele Felder und Tasten in der App sowie teilweise Schrift ist unter VoiceOver nicht lesbar. Apple gibt Blinden und sie behinderten Menschen die Möglichkeit über VoiceOver viele Apps zu benutzen. Leider ist dies bei dieser App nicht oder nur bedingt möglich. Daher nur einen Stern! I recently switched to apple and had previously been using “speech assistant” on my last phone. This app is extremely similar to that but so much less customizable and the abc keyboard takes forever for me to type with. I will be purchasing speech assistant whenever I have the money. I like how it prioritizes the sections and is appropriate for adults like myself, however it does not work. There isn’t a voice. If I can’t use it to talk it can have all the most amazing features and still be useless to be. Currently, Vocable is available in five languages including: English, German, Danish, Italian, and Chinese (Simplified). In order to use a specific language, your iOS device must have that language set as its primary language. You can also change the voice of Vocable from the main settings of your device. Aphasia is terribly frustrating for the patient and the family. Being able to personalize the app by adding categories and phrases to suit situations is very helpful. THANK YOU for offering this app for FREE most of all. ### 5/5 — Good aac *2023-11-29, version 1.6* I’m a semi verbal autistic teenager. This app is quite good. The ability to change section names and customise phrases is good. I’ve added many of my mannerisms to make the voice feel more like me. Swearing - even mild stuff like damn, doesn’t seem to be recognised as words, though it’s pronounced. Could be more inclusive of swearing - being non verbal doesn't mean you have to be polite. Only issues are there is only one voice option, which is quite feminine, and the aac doesn’t seem to understand acronyms or punctuation. Write ‘uhm’ they say U-H-M, write adhd and it pronounces it adjhid. Lol. This app has not only been great for communication when I have non verbal episodes with my handy dandy autism and selective mutism but I also use this a lot wether school, work or public situations. I’m a seperate user that just downloaded the app and I temporarily had the same issue. I solved it by going into the app settings, then “Selection Mode” then next to Head Tracking I slid the slider to the off position.
