*2023-01-29, version 1.4.3*

A very, very interesting endeavor. More functionality than any traditional platform (dictionary, thesaurus, rhyming, you name it) and fast and easy search function. From SAT prep to advanced second-language learning, Lekses has the tools for you.

It is must app for every who wants to their expand their vocabulary and articulate their feelings. ### 5/5 — Love the app and notifications

*2022-12-01, version 1.4.2*

This app is great specially with my need for the daily reminder or new learning of words for creating great work devs

### 5/5 — Fun and useful!

*2022-11-11, version 1.4.2*

On my first use of the Lekses Vocabulary and Dictionary App, I’m finding that it goes straight to the point of the definition and proper use of a word. What I think stands out most is the ability to find words that rhyme with one quick touch! It’s also extremely easy to find synonyms, antonyms, and options for using a word differently in a sentence structure. This thesaurus aspect will be a treasure in my references. I’m going to enjoy this app!

### 5/5 — Best App Ever

*2022-11-09, version 1.4.2*

You know, sometimes you stumble upon something so valuable that you feel it’s a crime for it to be FREE. This is one of them. I'm an ESL learner and have used a plethora of dictionary apps, but this right here is hands down the best of the best. I'd literally recommend this to everyone. Thanks, Mr. Johnson!!

### 5/5 — Love this app with one suggestion…

*2022-09-19, version 1.3.1*

This app is a fantastic tool for those who want to expand their vocabulary. The app is very smooth in appearance and easy to use. Solid design! Gets to the point without a bunch of fluff. Love it.

I would to have the capability to save words or build my own list to study or practice.

### 5/5 — The best word app available

*2022-09-13, version 1.3.1*

This app is awesome! 5 stars is no joke! You have the option to choose your level of vocabulary, how many daily notifications you get, and gives you so much more than any dictionary app! 10/10 would recommend if you’re looking for a way to expand your vernacular!

**Developer response:** Wow! Thank you so much! 🥰🥰 we are so pleased you enjoy the app!

### 5/5 — As a word collector

*2022-08-30, version 1.3.1*

This is a must for vocabulary lovers ! I'd like to have the ability to make custom list for study or poems or fiction in the future. Perhaps the creators could make a flash card feature, haha !

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2022-08-29, version 1.3.1*

Not sure if I’ve ever written a review. This app is the single most effective writing tool I’ve encountered in my life. It’s so easy to use and it’s help to my writing has been paramount. I am so great full it’s free. I’m without words. Take my word for it or don’t lol. I’m just glad I have it and thank you guys for having made it and offering free of charge. Gratitude!

### 5/5 — Excellent for writers, authors, poets (like me, so..

*2022-08-25, version 1.3.1*

A few suggestions imo would make this app the absolute best. 1. Syllable count. Just a simple “Syllables: #” under the phonetic pronunciation. Idk what you wrote the app in but there are several modules for several different languages that do this. Python has one called syllables. Import syllables >sybCount=syllables.estimate(“hello”) >>>return sybCount ##(or print but most likely using a function to swap out the parameter in the syllable.estimate() method to the word being displayed to the user)## I feel like it would be an easy enough addition if not just having to tinker with your functions and calling objects with different methods (again I have no idea how what your app is coded in. Seems like it could be Xcode it also seems sorta like python but it could be freaking kotlin 😂.. ) And lastly 2. A favorites list. I will leave this up to you guys to figure out a fun way to call back a users favorite words for future use. And extra credit bonus request: You know those fridge magnets that are just a bunch of common and not so common words with a few “the”s and “a”s and “i”s and “of”s and the point is to rearrange them into fun or clever little sayings, quotes, poems, whatever…. This could be a great idea generator for poets and writers/authors. Give them a list of mixed (like a 4:2:1 ratio) of common and intermediate and advanced words that we could play with and come up with ideas…. I would pay a small one time fee for the extra credit request but please don’t EVER go subscription or I will change it to 1 star and delete the app immediately. But I seriously LOVE this app and use it every day!! Thank you!!!

### 5/5 — Retired Airline Captain - Dragon Driver 423

*2022-06-16, version 1.2.0*

Better than a dictionary, thesaurus and expert opinion all rolled into one.

My go to place for vocab. Keep up the good work.

### 5/5 — A word reference second to none!

*2022-06-09, version 1.2.0*

👋🏼fellow word nerd here. I’ve been using Lekses (clever name btw) for a week or so and I just love it. The right modifiers are especially nice. The look and feel of the app is very calming and I wouldn’t change a bit. Even for a heavy dark mode user, I find it appealing. Don’t get fooled by the “dictionary” in the app title; it’s as addictive as TikTok!

### 5/5 — Simple, to the point

*2022-06-05, version 1.2.0*

I came across this app from TikTok. After the first use, I immediately deleted my Dictionary app. This app is so much more approachable, simplistic and still provides a plethora of synonyms, antonyms and the definition itself; love it! As it progress, I would love to see a flash card setting, where you can randomize words you’ve looked up to help in remembering the definition for the long term. Love the app! Keep up the great work!

### 5/5 — Improve vocabulary

*2022-06-02, version 1.2.0*

*2025-01-12, version 1.7.0*

Disappointed

### 1/5 — Lekses

*2022-08-19, version 1.3.1*

I like this app a lot however it hasn’t worked in the past week

### 2/5 — Your Very Own Vocabulary Nanny

*2022-12-06, version 1.4.2*

Has potential. iPhone format only? You should let people know that. Content may be king, but UI/UX is consort. Is a dealbreaker for me. UI is clunky. Great for a kindergartner!

I have other vocabulary apps, each with enough minor annoyances to keep me searching for a better app , but none as intrusive or regimented. Your app assumes you need discipline.

If you don’t like being told when and what time to study vocabulary, this is not the app for you.

### 3/5 — Great app for vocabulary

*2022-04-27, version 1.1.4*

I would love to hear the pronunciation.

### 4/5 — .

*2022-12-03, version 1.4.2*

I found this app on tiktok and i’m quite impressed. I’ve been looking for a vocabulary app to improve my writing and this has been a big help. Though sometimes I see the same words multiple times I would say I extended my vocabulary for the short time I’ve had the app.👍

### 4/5 — Nice

*2022-05-30, version 1.2.0*

I like the app but I think adding audio pronunciations would have been great

### 5/5 — Make your own list feature?

*2024-10-03, version 1.7.0*

Can a make your own list feature be added?

### 5/5 — Dope app

& yes, I’m a real person. I still owe the creator an email back from a while back when I sent them a kudos about it. Sorry Dude! I hope this app stays free,&/or as cheap as possible without a headache subscription. Great way to increase vocabulary,& expand your mind in general. 🤘🏽

### 5/5 — Excellent tool for writers and lexiphiles everywhere

*2023-04-12*

I agree this app has it all and more. Forget googling for hours to find just the right word. Find it here quickly. The developer has thought of everything. Poets and song writers, scrabble players, content creators, students and journalists all have something to cheer about.

### 5/5 — Best dictionary app

*2023-03-21, version 1.5.0*

Wanted an app that gives me a new word a day, this is the only one I found that does it for free and has tons of cool features that are better than a lot of paid dictionary apps.

### 5/5 — Great for authors!

*2023-02-21*

Using this app helps to find great alternatives to the simplest words. I use this in editing my draft to expand on the scenes and characters descriptions. It was recommended by the creator on TikTok.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much! 😁 So glad you are finding it useful!

### 5/5 — Best Dictionary/ word app I’ve ever used.

*2023-02-15, version 1.4.3*

I had the privilege to speak with Michael one on one and this app is absolutely amazing. From the front end work to the backend functionality it’s absolutely beautiful.

The purpose of the app is unmatched— I’ve never seen so much detail put into a word app. As a hip-hop enthusiast I really appreciate the rhymes/ passive rhymes. It’s truly a beautiful app.
