As you can only do the first chapter in journey and the main word screen. So if you don’t plan on buying anything— this app won’t be the best fit, since you’ll only get 1 chapter of learning games and one basic feature. ### 4/5 — This app is so good *2026-08-25, version 5.87.2* I heard about this app and I got so intrigued that I decided I want to download it. I did not expect to be blown away with this awesome app that tells me words that I didn’t knew excited in a dictionary! Not egregiously, but enough to make people look at you weird. And when it happens once too often, you can’t use this app anymore. However, I encountered issues with on the phone screen app shortcuts when pressed for longer duration, those shortcuts don’t work. It instead opens the app itself as usual and I have to perform the action again myself IN the app, so double work. For example, saving or favouriting a word. Hence four starts. Please fix this issue. Thank you. ### 3/5 — Can’t change the widget when you know a word *2026-08-20, version 6.50.0* This app is really promising but I won’t be starting a subscription because: 1) it constantly tells me my device’s audio is disabled when it isn’t, so I can’t listen to pronunciation of new words 2) you can’t mark a word as known and skip to a new one on the widget. The widget is the feature I am really interested in because I can learn passively, but it’s useless if it shows me words I already know and I can’t skip to a new word. Indeed it doesn’t seem possible anywhere in the app to mark words as known so they don’t show up again. Not that I don’t mind a bit of sexology myself, but I don’t understand how this has equal weightings as… society… if we are only limited to four categories. Is it supposed to be a way to lure in fans of mature content? But oh my god this is so bad 😭 you need to pay to practice or do anything in the app. If it was like Duolingo where you were given the opportunity to actually learn without needing to pay I think this app would be so useful and educational.
