My ALL-TIME biggest gripe is that IKM ALWAYS seems to require that “one more” little element missing for that sound you’re looking for. They thrive off of that AND it’s gonna cost you money. CHECK IT OUT! Go to the IKM App site and look at their “Total Bundle” offering...total, right? Nope! You look right under the “get” button and you’ll notice “In app purchases”. So it’s NOT a “ Total” bundle! They have cost me more money when they decide I need to upgrade my software (Sonic Synth 2 & the old Miroslav) if I want what I purchased to continue working. If you want quality no-nonsense plugins or music apps, Native Instruments, EastWest Sounds and others are superior and you get what you get AND KEEP what you get...no gold digging! Registration is glitchy. Won’t incorporate with AmpliTube Frustrating. ### 2/5 — What they don’t tell you about “free”. *2018-01-30, version 3.0.1* I knew this app was free, so I expected to not get everything. I knew what I was getting was going to be limited. How ever, this app gives you less than what it shows. When I opened it, I saw one category and a small list of presets. This was to be expected. What I did not expect was that out of the small list of presets only one would work. The only thing that works this app, when it comes to the effects, is the reverb. That’s all you get. Period. So instead of giving you a few effects to try out, you only get one. Anything else is in app purchase. I barely know what I'm doing. There is a manual, but it says I have to "register the app" and I'm not getting into that mess. If you actually want to be successful with this app, you're going to have to spend a lot of money. Most of the stuff on there costs money. Can't tell if I'm recording my voice or not. If you like to sing and are looking for a simple app, DON'T GET THIS APP because it is anything but simple. ### 1/5 — Dave *2016-05-24, version 3.0.0* These are the biggest scam artists on Apple stay well away, constantly tell you that you have things in the package and then give you the basics and keep charging you for things they promised were already in it. ### 2/5 — Needs a major update *2016-03-25, version 2.0.3* As a standalone product this app works fine with some interesting, usable effects. However, the level of support and maintenance on this app is very poor, particularly if you want to use it in conjunction with other apps. It works ok with audiobus but is very unreliable with interapp audio. For example, it does not work at all with Auria or AUM which is a show stopper for me. The app is in great need of a major update to fix interapp compatibility issues. ### 4/5 — Decent App *2016-01-10, version 2.0.3* Works as promised...I have no issues other than learning how to use everything. ### 1/5 — Registration isn't working *2015-11-12, version 2.0.3* I try to register, which will give me a free module, and it says my email address is already on record so I used reset password. They email me a temp password. I try to register and it says it's incorrect. To review my login information. I tried resetting it three time and the same error. Like I would risk $20 when their registration doesn't even work. ### 1/5 — Can not import any iTunes library music *2015-09-15, version 2.0.2* The program advertises that you can use a vocal removal tool within in to help remove vocals from songs to practice to. I would love to but it only imports WMV files not ones from iTunes. Useless for an iPad app. ### 1/5 — Fraudulent in app purchase *2015-07-26, version 2.0.2* This app charged me 26 dollars for the studio version which I never received. As if I'm using still the free version. Tried escalating it to the Apple Store never got a response. ### 3/5 — Excellent but not the studio element *2015-07-12, version 2.0.2* For vocal effects this is a superb program but there is an option to install an integrated studio for recording for a comparatively expensive sum which I definitely cannot recommend. No effort was spared to eradicate pop outs, glitches, noises and God knows what without success. I couldn't get my money back either but that surprise came with a silver lining as I own 24 track program DAW (highly recommended - superb) and found I could integrate the vocals effects live with Vocalive. Overall, if it's effects you want Vocalive is great but steer clear of the studio for if its a studio you want get DAW. ### 1/5 — Adware *2015-07-09, version 1.6.1* At least two ad pop ups every session that demand to be dismissed before you can use it. And I paid for this? This should be free adware. In app purchases can get pricey. If there were a package deal would be better.. The free reverb and purchased compressor made a digital robot noise after every processed signal and were terrible. You pay a lot if money for the App and supporting Apps but the Company or developers are reluctant to offer ‘any support’.... needs fixing urgently 🤬 ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Full Featured Vocal Recorder & Live Performance App!!! *2021-02-20, version 3.0.3* I’ve been playing, singing and recording music since 1983 and over the years I’ve had a lot of equipment that has cost me thousands of dollars and this is something that packs a punch for a small fraction of the price! The only thing that I haven’t purchased yet is the looper, but that’ll come later. The only thing that I see at this point in time that needs to be updated is the (Files App) integration instead of the (iTunes Sharing) feature which is old! I’m really wanting to recommend this app for people doing live singing that can’t afford all the equipment that exist in the real world for this kind of output! After a day or so I paid to unlock the extra features and effects. If you have GarageBand, buy this and Audiobus. The quality of recording and effects is awesome. Speechless ### 5/5 — Expensive but worth every penny! *2014-01-05, version 1.6.1* Let's get one thing out of the way first, this is going to cost about £15 (equivalent) to get ALL the functionality out of it. This plus an irig mic, a backing track and a decent pair of headphones and you have yourself a recording studio! The only thing I struggle with now is getting everyone in the house to be quiet while I am trying to record! Go to a professional recording studio for an hour and you are looking at 4 times the asking price. I cannot recommend this app highly enough. The only this is. I bought pitch fix add on and when I use it on the i pad it causes a fraction of a second delay : which means if I put the backing music on one track and my vocal on another track (using pitch fix) it means I have to export all my tracks to a laptop to compensate for the slight delay using pitch fix (even on ultra low latency) Otherwise I think this is an amazing app and works particularly well with the iPad built in mic (even better than irig mic), just point mic the right way to get the clearest quality and make suitable volume adjustments. If you take the time to learn how to use it and make the most of it then it can become an invaluable tool for songwriting and recording as well as recording cover demos, etc.. ### 5/5 — I love the app *2012-10-22, version 1.5* But when you export the song it sounds differnt like scratchy or something ### 5/5 — Awesome Tool *2012-05-13, version 1.0* And like all Big Boy Toys, you have to know how to use them. I don't understand all the bad reviews. Most of them appear to be from people who have little concept of what this app does, and does for free! If you want the bells and whistles, buy the 20 dollar version instead of the ala carte version. I plan to right now. There are a few legitimate complaints listed with justifiable reasons. Thousands of dollars of vocal effects processing for free, and people complain! I think it's a very well done app. And still a value being nickel and dimed with in app purchases. I do wish all their apps (Amplitube,Vocalive and Midi) could somehow integrate together, maybe in the next version. Oh and I like my Irig mic quite well. Another value for the money. ### 5/5 — Great little app. *2012-04-18, version 1.0* Great for putting ideas down. Even good with the built in mic on the IPad. Very easy to use and some useful effects available. Not at all complicated as suggested by one review. Just go into set up turn on the internal mic, go to recorder and you are away.
