## What is Vocards?

Add a word. Get a flashcard that teaches it.

Vocards builds the card for you – translation, example sentences and native-quality pronunciation – then makes sure you actually remember it, a few minutes at a time.

CARDS BUILT FOR YOU
• Add a single word and watch the card fill itself in
• Describe a topic, paste a word list, or snap a photo of a menu, textbook or sign
• Bring in the highlights you saved while reading – share a Kindle highlight straight into Vocards
• Prefer control? Write cards fully by hand, or create a whole batch at once
• Something off on a card? Ask the AI, and apply the fix with one tap

FOUR WAYS TO STUDY
• Flashcards – full screen, tap to flip, swipe right if you knew it
• Typing – write the answer yourself; take a hint or letter tiles if you're stuck
• Multiple choice and gap-fill, for more angles on the same word
• Exercise mix – set how often quizzes, gap-fill and typing turn up, or switch any of the three off

SPACED REPETITION, WITHOUT THE BUSYWORK
• Every word you get right waits longer to come back – a day, a week, a month, then longer
• No rating buttons – no Again/Hard/Good/Easy. One swipe, and Vocards works out the rest
• Miss one and it comes back the same session, and sooner next time

EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE
• Home shows what's due today; the Decks library holds everything else
• Folders, search and filters keep hundreds of decks tidy
• Stats with charts – your streak, cards per day, your weekly rhythm – and they open offline
• Home-screen widgets – what's due, your streak, a word of the day, and one tap to add a card
• Daily reminders, at the times you pick

WORTH KNOWING
• Learn offline – download a deck, and your reviews sync when you're back
• Topic packs – pick a subject and get a ready-made deck in one tap
• A browser extension for your laptop – right-click any word to make a card
• Native-quality pronunciation on every card, at adjustable speed
• Podcast Mode – hands-free listening with the screen off, on a walk or in the car; download a deck to listen offline
• Sessions you actually finish – about 10 cards, set it from 5 up
• Share any deck with a link; friends copy it and start in seconds
• Message us from inside the app – a bug, an idea, a question
• 30 languages to learn, from Spanish and Japanese to Czech and Hebrew

Whether you're studying for an exam, picking up a new language, or just want to remember the words you meet every day, Vocards turns them into lasting knowledge.

Vocards is free.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.1.2 — 2026-08-21

Typing, a rebuilt Home, and stats worth opening.

TYPE THE WORD FROM MEMORY
A new exercise asks you to write the answer instead of recognizing it. There's a hint if you need one, letter tiles if you'd rather tap than type, and "I was right" for the times the grader is too strict. If you're updating, Typing starts Off: switch it on in Settings › Exercise mix, which also sets how often Typing, Multiple Choice and Gap-fill turn up – Off, Rarely, Sometimes or Often – on the repeat and practice cards in a session.

HOME AND DECKS, SPLIT IN TWO
Home is the daily surface now: your streak, what's due, and a way in. Decks is the library it grew out of – search, filters with a live match count, sort, a grid or list layout, and folders you can nest and color. Your view, layout, sort and filters are remembered, and a large library finally scrolls like one.

PICK UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF
Left a session half-finished? It sits at the top of Home with its progress, one tap back in.

STATS, REBUILT
The Learning Heatmap and the month calendars share one look now, and two charts join them: cards a day over the last 30 days, and your weekly rhythm over the last 12 weeks. The heatmap and the 30-day chart open full screen. Stats are saved on the device now, so they still show up offline.

WRITE TO US
The top of Settings opens a thread straight to Mariusz. Ask anything – replies arrive in the app, in your language, with the original a tap away.

ALSO
• Vocards offers daily reminders once you've come back on your own, and "no" is always reversible
• Ask the AI about a card from a deck's card list too, with one-tap fixes
• Two new app icons: Emerald card and Purple card (light)
• A card's pronunciation replays instantly instead of downloading again
• Better AI-generated cards, and far fewer unexpected sign-outs
• Plenty of fixes and polish across the app

### 1.1.1 — 2026-07-24

Widgets, for real this time.

HOME-SCREEN WIDGETS FIXED
The last update promised widgets but shipped without them. They're in the app now: add Today's Review, a card or your streak to your home screen, pick the style and colour, and learn without opening Vocards.

A NEW APP ICON
Vocards now wears Paper minimal – an ink V on warm paper. Still like the purple one? Purple card is waiting in Settings › App icon, along with the rest of the lineup.

ALSO
• Small fixes and polish across the app

### 1.1.0 — 2026-07-19

A whole new look, and a lot more ways to learn.

FRESH DESIGN
Rebuilt from the ground up – new type, new colours, new icons. Cards, decks and stats all feel lighter and quicker to read.

HOME-SCREEN WIDGETS
Put your words where you'll see them. Pick Today's Review, a card widget or your streak, choose the style and colour, and learn without opening the app.

PODCAST MODE, REBUILT
Listen through a whole deck hands-free. Podcast Mode now runs on your phone's own audio player, so it keeps going when you leave the app or lock your screen – and it plays the deck all the way through.

ALSO
• Undo your last answer mid-session
• Look words up in DeepL, Linguee, Google Translate or Wiktionary
• Select text in any app and send it straight to Vocards
• Full iPad layouts across every screen
