She taught me the method herself just at the piano. I recorded it, but I just couldn’t keep up my exercises later I looked for this program, and I found it and I paid for it, but it would not allow me to use it on another device, and I tried to contact, customer service or Mr. Catona and no one ever responded to me. The method itself is very good it’s useful, it does work. It’s not simple, you have to put in the effort. You have to follow through, start from the bottom and work your way up and do it every day. You will see a difference in your singing ability and your speaking ability but I only understood what was going on because my friend explained it to me. It is not explained in this app, and that’s so sad because the average user has no idea of what they should be doing or how they should be doing it, such as using your fingers to hold the bottom chin while you’re doing the eh or the ah. Also, keep your head straight and drop your jaw. Those are things that I was taught from my friend. I just wish there was a better explanation. A revelation!! *2021-02-23* Having watched a documentary about Gary Katona the voice coach helping stars of stage and screen, and seeing his simple straightforward methods work, despite the awful sounds of the process (voice cracking and breaking and all sorts) I was blown away - even doctors had said that this particular star of the west end, would never sing again. But she did!! I used to sing when I was younger but hadn’t for many years really, using this app a couple of times a week I feel my voice build in strength a clarity. I just wouldn’t have thought it could come back so swiftly. The problem is NOT using it fully because we think those cracks and breaks are bad. When I go to sing now there’s a freedom and clarity I only recall from when I was in a choir at school! Utterly amazing. More than worth the fee. One of the best apps I’ve ever had. I needed to practice with something to help me do it right. I have become a popular karaoke artist in my community and I have fans in many other countries now. I can say that I have never sounded as good as I do now. Sometimes I go without practicing for months then only practice a full lesson little over thirty minutes the same day of my show and sound just as good and more importantly have no problem holding my breath. When I sing in front of an audience, I usually take requests, and and have never been able to stop in less than six or more hours. Absolutely foundational ### 5/5 — Genuinely unbelievable *2020-04-30* I spent 8 months diligently trying to learn to sing with youtube vids, singing teachers etc, and nothing worked (so many nonsense metaphors “imagine you’re singing into a rainbow..”). I found this and did it religiously for 3 weeks, doing exactly what it said in the pdf supporting book I found online. Honestly, it was a real game changer for me. I could actually hold a tone throughout my register without it breaking. My pitch improved (along with doing external pitch exercises), and my voice control was so much better. It does take around 35mins to complete each day, and is quite tiring. Really focus on each note you do and don’t just go through the motions (mind/muscle connection). To supplement this, I was learning a few songs 100% properly at the same time. That meant getting every note and phrase down before I moved on. This will really help your pitch too. I want to thank Gary and his team for making this, it’s really been a fantastic addition to my music career!! ### 5/5 — Excellent!!! *2020-04-14* Love this app. You can vocalize in your car while driving, or anywhere else without the need for a piano/keyboard. I have a Masters of Music in Voice from a prestigious NY Conservatory, and I can honestly say that the Gary Catona method has developed my voice more than any voice lessons/methods in all my years of professional “academic” training. My voice is more secure, resilient, reliable and solid now, and I can JUST SING, without worrying about the million “vocal technique” details like correct breathing, diaphragm, placement etc, etc. I can literally just open my mouth and sing the notes, knowing they will be there. Before this method, I had to obsess about whether my technique would get me through, juggling all the aspects of it while trying to stay on pitch and emote at the same time. Super stressful! Not anymore. I’ve been professionally coaching and training singers for decades - and this tool will not be recommended to the people I work with. It is also extremely creepy, with that “singing head” - oh my goodness, that made me laugh so hard, I nearly passed out - and you can’t turn it off via your Settings! :-D Just keep looking for a good, experienced, patient voice teacher for your voice type, who will support you in your personal singing goals — it’s old-school, and will cost you money and time - but it is the only way to get what you need.
