My one beef is that the slider used to rewind and fast forward recordings is too small, making it difficult to accurately replay certain quotes without listening to previous “tape.” ### 4/5 — Well worth the price *2018-01-20, version 2.6* Dear Voice memos+ app developer, I just purchased your app for $1.99 this morning. Would you please add more functionality in the next upgrade? I currently use the iPhone 4's Voice Memos app to record background vocals/ideas. I then transfer the m4a recordings to my iPad which does not show me an icon for the iPad version of Voice Memos. That's why I bought your Voice memos+ app. Your app does not give me the option to play m4a sound files that I recorded and transferred over to my iPad. I would also like the ability to see visual symbols of the sound amplitude in your next upgrade. I will send you a screen shot to follow in the next email. Can you give me an idea of when your next upgrade is projected to release? Also, what is the file extension of your app sound recording files? At the very bottom of this screen shot you can see the sound spikes of my sound recording. I like having this kind of visual cue for sound recording layering and other purposes. I also want your next upgrade to have the ability to pull my iPhone 4 voice memos sound recordings m4a files and transfer them over to your app. I would also like help files and/or a FAQ built into the app. I would like the ability to import sound files off of my email inbox and over into your app. I would like an iPhone version of your app. I have older iPhones 3 and 4. I am unlikely to upgrade to newer iPhones. The $1.99 price for the iPad version of this app is a very fair price because there are no annoying ads and this basic app does the job of recording memos. Of course, you can use it to records vocals for song ideas or background vocal ideas or other similar singing and recording ideas. For what it is I give this app a grade of B. I hope to move my rating for the next upgrade up to a grade of A after the app developers implement all of my suggestions. After two days of attempting to get the meter to register so something ANYTHING is recorded it has failed. The app creator offered some things to check but from reading the forums it would seem apple is the one who needs to fix this and thus far has not. I must caution you that until they do you may be sorely out of luck. It seems unfair to rate this poorly when it seems it is in apple's corner. ### 5/5 — Great Tool *2013-07-16, version 2.0* Great since iPad doesn't have one pre-loaded like iPhone. I use it to record song work tapes and rehearsal run throughs, then load the results up to Dropbox to share with the other musicians who need listen back and it works perfectly. The trim on the mic always comes out fine for these quick recordings whether I'm alone with an acoustic instrument or there's drums 5 feet away, I use it all the time. First app review I've written and have had an iPhone since 3G came out, so definitely happy with it. It's a great sound recording and sharing utility, the graphics (which looked fine in both versions people are talking about) are irrelevant, right? ### 3/5 — The world is not flat... But I guess it's getting flatter. =( *2013-07-05, version 2.0* I use this app only occasionally, but I've always liked the look of it. It does a good job for what it is. Had I been paying attention, I would not have updated to the new version. I understand that this current trend for a flatter look and feel is being driven by Microsoft and now Apple. I hope it's just a passing fad. I don't prefer over the top skeuomorphism but I don't care for the flat, soulless look on the horizon either. The new flatter design is rather boring looking. I'm afraid I liked the old look & feel better. Hopefully some balance can be struck. Customer service is non existent as no one has return the several emails I have sent over the last week or so. It is a shame as the recording app itself is fine. How difficult would it be to make an instruction page on their website for trouble shooting. Not returning emails is the worst type of business. I bought the app and recorded the first memo. From reading the reviews, I knew ahead of time that I needed to buy a second app to transfer the memo to my computer. Unfortunately, it won't let me buy it! I keep getting the message "You must purchase the app that this item is for before you can purchase the item". Apart from advising KendiTech to invest in a good copywriter - I'm stuck and can't transfer file to the PC. I clicked on support for the app and was delivered into a non responding website. Another 99cents down the drain it seems. ### 1/5 — Took away functionality then want to charge again for it in update *2011-10-29, version 1.4.5* Updating Review below. Some update or another TURNED OFF functionality of moving the file to your computer. I HAD original cost for app, AND paid .99 to turn on e-mail function. NOW it wants another .99 cents to copy the file off the app onto my computer when I sync it in iTunes. Scam. I'm going to find an app that won't keep downgrading when it is updated then have to pay to do what I used to do. First the cost total is 99 cents for the app and 99 cents for turning on the e-mail function. You do not need the e-mail piece to get recorded files off the iPad - the latest release lets you do that in iTunes. Reasonable sound quality - even when only using iPad built-in mic. E-mail function crashes if the memo is too long/big. I recorded 45 minute lecture, will not e-mail off iPad - crashes program. (not surprising, file is probably too big for my e-mail provider to accept as attachment) Keep that in mind if you are traveling (have to connect to iTunes to get longer recordings off iPad). Otherwise works well. 15 minute memo e-mailed just fine. ### 1/5 — They ask for extra money just to import on your computer *2011-10-24* The app seems to be working fine however they ask you to pay more money if you wish to export your files on computer, trim memos and email.
