Do I need it? No. Do I want it? No. is it good to scare and weird people out with? Yes, yes it is. So should you buy it. The talking characters really engage students! I just recently tried the app and I was disappointed by the lack of characters to select from. The app does not offer any of the fairytale characters or the career characters. These were the two categories that I selected images from the most. I was disappointed that the selection on the website didn’t match the options on the app. One good change was a new feature allowing paying subscribers to download the videos. Now, my videos play automatically when inserted in a slideshow. ### 2/5 — I paid for ALL and did not get them ALL *2020-06-02, version 5.9.3* This app has potential but price is really high and also the promotional offer has issues. DO NOT buy it until they fix it. I paid for ALL avatars and the app only released one for me! Not good that way! ### 3/5 — Crashes often *2018-11-23, version 5.9.1* Hi there, been a Voki fan for years! This app while awesome crashes when you press the play button after you hear the audio bit. Plus it took too long to “download characters” when they aren’t all free which makes no sense. There are so few that are free and I don’t see why they aren’t all free. I do think it can continue to get better. Here are some of the things I want as new features since my last review I noticed they are really listening: 1. I want to be able to move the avatar and position it anywhere I want. 2. I want to have more production features such as lighting features just like filming. 3. I want more freedom to animate the avatars 4. I want to be able to create sequences with my avatars. 5 I want to be able to make my avatar have dialogue with another avatar on the set . Please work on some of those features Thanks... ### 3/5 — Easy to use *2018-06-22, version 5.9* Need access to more characters in free version ### 1/5 — Ummm what? *2018-04-21, version 5.6* I was in a French class and my teacher went on the computer version of this and it looked really useful, I thought it could really help out with practising my speaking. I proceeded to download it only to discover that the creators have put so much effort into creating loads and loads of characters (that you have to pay for) that the app has lost any quality it could have had. When it came to typing the French that I wanted to hear it was constantly freezing and could not say what I wanted it to.
