## What is Volara Log?

Volara Log is a professional flight logbook built for commercial pilots — designed to handle regulatory compliance across multiple aviation authorities, with native PDF exports formatted to match each one.

IMPORT YOUR FLYING HISTORY IN MINUTES
- Import your Flight Time Report directly from your airline's crew portal — every flight logged automatically, no manual entry
- Sync your roster from Google Calendar or straight from your iPhone/iPad's built-in Calendar — or import a CSV export from another logbook app
- Only the data that matches a real Volara Log field gets imported — nothing forced into the wrong place

BUILT FOR REAL AIRLINE OPERATIONS
- Full OOOI time tracking (Out/Off/On/In) with automatic block, flight, and night time calculations
- Simulator sessions, duty periods, and flight duty period (FDP) tracking — all in one place
- Multi-crew logging: PIC, SIC, instructor, and augmenting crew
- Custom aircraft and crew registries, searchable and sortable

REGULATORY LIMITS, TRACKED AUTOMATICALLY
- Real-time currency and limit tracking (landings, block hours, duty periods) with expiry alerts
- Generate compliant PDF logbook exports formatted for your regulatory authority (EASA/UK CAA, FAA, GCAA, Aerocivil Colombia)

YOUR DATA, YOUR CONTROL
- Sign in with Apple or Google — used only to identify your account, never a Volara Lab login
- Automatic backup and sync to your own Google Drive — access your logbook from any device
- Nothing shared with third parties beyond what's needed to run the app
- Works fully offline; sync happens whenever you're connected

Whether you're flying for a major international carrier or building hours toward your ratings, Volara Log keeps your logbook accurate, compliant, and always backed up.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.12.0 — 2026-09-03

Simulators registry
Create a simulator once and pick it when logging a session — no more re-typing its identifier, level and aircraft type every time. The selected simulator's details appear in a collapsible card, the same way aircraft details do on a flight.

Simulator sessions in duties
A duty that covers a simulator session now shows that session, not just flights.

Trainers and trainees
Simulator session detail now lists the trainers and trainees you logged, each with a nationality flag.

Ryanair email import
Captain Remarks and delay codes now go to Personal Notes instead of the Remarks field that prints on your logbook PDFs.

### 1.11.0 — 2026-08-29

New: Automatic Ryanair import by email
Forward your "Verified Flights" email to import.ryanair@volara.dev (once, or set up auto-forwarding) and Volara Log picks it up on its own — no more pasting text or attaching a PDF. Just make sure your Crew ID is set in Settings first.

Simulator sessions now get missing-duty detection, just like flights — if a sim has no duty logged, Volara proposes one using its own recorded times.
Logbook PDF improvements: several formats (EASA, GCAA, Australia, Chile, South Africa) now show your real IFR time in the IFR column instead of IMC, matching each authority's own definition. Previous Experience also gained its own separate IFR field.
Fixed a bug where Dashboard widget order and visibility could revert after restoring a backup or syncing. Several design consistency touch-ups across Flights, Duties, and Simulators.

### 1.10.0 — 2026-08-28

Import, rebuilt.

Choose your airline or logbook from a searchable list. Each source opens its own page with clear, step-by-step instructions for that export - no guessing which format is which.

New: Ryanair import
- Paste or attach the after-duty "Verified Flights" email.
- Import the monthly eCrew Flight Time/Duty Certificate PDF - sector routes and block times, plus a flight-duty per day and your standby duties.

IFR and Simulated IMC
Now three separate durations instead of one. IMC and IFR each have their own auto/manual switch (auto IFR just equals block time); Simulated IMC is always manual. Turn IFR and Simulated IMC on in Settings if you log them.

Smarter imports
- Airline files ask what time zone their times are in, then store everything correctly in UTC.
- The same flight is recognised even across two different export formats, so re-importing won't double it up.
- Imports can build your duties for you, and take you straight to your Flights list when finished.

Duty Calculation
Starts blank on a fresh install - nothing is proposed or created until you set the report/off-duty rules for your operator.

Also: fixed the Settings duty-buffer fields losing what you typed, corrected the "Instruction Given" label, and several smaller import fixes.

### 1.8.0 — 2026-08-20

This update adds Fuel Entries: track Trip, Taxi, Departure, and Arrival fuel for every flight, with automatic Fuel Planned, Used, and Saved calculations in your choice of kg, lb, or tons.
A new optional Dashboard widget shows your fuel savings alongside an estimated CO2 impact (trees saved, car km saved).
Also new: optional Crew Count and SOB (Souls On Board) fields, both available when building Custom Dashboard Widgets.
All new fields are off by default -- enable them in Settings > Logging.

### 1.7.0 — 2026-08-18

ster, and better understand which features matter most to pilots using Volara Log. This is on by default and can be turned off anytime in Settings > Privacy.

• Fixed a rare sync edge case where, in specific offline-then-reconnect situations, a genuine edit on one device could be silently overwritten by a delete on another device instead of prompting a conflict resolution dialog.
