Love word games? Then Volcano is the game for you. Come to build words in a remote tropical jungle, but be careful not to awaken the volcano! How to play? - Draw lines between the letters to form words and earn points (any direction works). - Each letter in the word has a score. Longer words are worth more points. - Use green letters—they are worth more than regular letters. - Struggling to find a word? Shuffle the board to get new letters. Watch out for hot letters! - A hot letter will melt the letter beneath it at the end of each turn. - To get rid of a hot letter, form a word with it that has at least 3 letters. - If the letter reaches the bottom of the board, you have 10 seconds to form a word with it, or the game ends! We worked hard on making the game feel like the original bookworm game. Really means a lot ❤️ ### 3/5 — Decent, With Problems *2026-07-07* It’s a decent replacement for people who liked Bookworm, but it doesn’t recognize some basic words. It could use a complete update using a dictionary. ### 1/5 — Nice try, but not up to par with classic bookworm *2026-04-21, version 2.1.7* Totally disappointed, it does not even have simple words like “sly”, “keen”, etc. The worst part is the control, I was trying to form an 8 letter word, “monsters”, by the time my finger slide M-O-N, it submitted the “mon”, so I lost my 8 letter word. ### 4/5 — Great relaxing game *2026-02-27, version 2.1.5* Takes me back to Popcap’s Bookworm. Very well done. It would be good to know what dictionary it uses as it doesn’t accept some words that are absolutely in all dictionaries. ### 2/5 — JUST ADS little play *2026-02-11* Way too many ADs and way to much money to go Ad free otherwise it’s a great nod to my all time favorite game Book Worm ### 3/5 — Restart *2026-01-09* In order to start a new game, I have to delete and reinstall the app ### 3/5 — Too many Z and X hot tiles *2025-11-15* Honestly this game is a decent replacement for bookworm but it gives flaming Z and X tiles WAY too often, making it very difficult to get past level 6. I’ve only ever scored 7 thousand something. Sometimes you get a flaming z or x in level two and never get any words around it. Pretty frustrating and makes the game alot less enjoyable **Developer response:** Thanks so much for the feedback! You’re absolutely right. Z and X hot tiles were showing up more often than they should, especially in early levels, which made it harder to form words around them. Good news: I’ve completely rebalanced the English letter distribution and hot-tile system, and the fix will be included in the next update. Rare letters like Z, X, Q, and V will now appear far less often, and flaming tiles will be much more fair and manageable. Really appreciate you pointing this out, it helps make the game better for everyone! ### 3/5 — Program is odd *2025-10-19* There are way too many V’s dropping down, it is impossible to make longer words, unlike Bookworm. **Developer response:** Thanks for taking the time to write this! You’re right, V tiles were appearing more often than intended in English levels, which made building longer words much harder. This has now been fixed: I’ve updated the English letter frequency table so letters like V, Z, X, and Q appear much less often, closer to their real frequency in English. This adjustment will be included in the upcoming update.
