I’ve been using this app for several years and still find it unreliable. 
Trying to connect to check the car’s charge the app reports synchronisation was 24 hours ago since when the car has been charged. Quitting the app and even sitting in the car with the ignition on still no connection. 
It also seems incompatible with my Zappi charging point giving me error messages and preventing charging. 
So disappointing.

Tried adding my vehicle as per the instructions on the vehicle and in the app but won’t recognise the VIN. Tried the QR code but it just sends you into an infinite cycle of syncing and failing. Pointless feature and app if it won’t connect.

Ever since my phone updated to version 4.1.1 today, the app won’t open and just keeps crashing. I was able to fully access the app and view my car’s data yesterday before it updated, but now I cannot even get the app to remain open. Please can this be looked at to fix this problem. When I login to the Volkswagen UK website, it shows all of my details correctly, including most recent trip details and vehicle status information which has synced from my car.

I still have connectivity via Bluetooth and CarPlay works but I cannot sync to the vehicle. I have no vehicle data and It just shows a blank screen.
Edit: I have no idea why but have had to re register is a primary user to fix the problem?

Mostly works ok but I have frequent problems with the app not showing the car’s location and syncing data from the car such as charge and remote locking. All despite good signal for car and phone. Many others have reported issues online and any fix only seems to last a few days. Really needs sorting

So much basic functionality missing.
Can’t open / close the windows.
No option to use phone as a key.
No internal temperature.
Can’t view the cameras.
Can’t open/close the boot.
Can’t flash the lights or sound the horn.

ID7 is a great car but so let down by the software and app.

Die App ist generell gut gemacht und erfüllt ihren Zweck. Manchmal scheint sie in meinem Fall (neuer ID.4 Ende 2025) zu vergessen dass ich ein E-Auto fahre und zeigt mir Tankstellen an statt Ladesäulen. Manchmal sind meine eingespeicherten POI (zu Hause / Arbeit) nicht angezeigt. Und das Wichtigste: Wenn ich die Routenplanung nutze und eine Route mit Ladestopp ans Auto sende, dann wird der Ladestopp einfach entfernt - das Auto navigiert immer zum letzten Ziel, alles dazwischen ist weg. Es ist also witzlos die Routenplanung in der App zu nutzen bzw. einen Zielladestand anzugeben. Ich mache jedes Update für App und Auto-Software, aber diese Problem bleibt bis heute. Auch Face ID funktioniert gar nicht (neues iPhone aus 2025), man muss zum Entsperren via App immer die PIN eingeben. Das Vorheizen/kühlen funktioniert allerdings gut. Auch die ChatGPT Funktion ist sehr gut (aber warum nicht Mistral als EU Alternative nutzen?). Ich werde mir alternative Software für die Routenplanung ansehen und CarPlay oder Android Auto nutzen.

First of all, this is highway robbery to make people pay £90 a year to turn on the heating while charging & then once they’ve paid the £90 for it not to work is beyond insulting - not impressed

UPDATE August 2025 the so hasn’t been working for 3 days now :(

Update September 2026 it’s pants keeps logging me out then won’t let me use it - it’s rubbish even if wax free I’d be angry but fir £90 per year it’s unforgivable

A very bad unresponsive web based app with very limited functionality that now is even worse because VW want a subscription. I tried to book an appointment for a service and that failed miserably. This app is mediaeval in comparison to the Tesla app (native, fast, responsive, helpful and full of options and information).

Very Very Glitchy & Poor! This must rank as one of the most frustrating vehicle Apps I have had the misfortune to use. This coupled with the Infotainment system in my VW T-Roc just makes everything so much worse!

One word, Useless. Always shows as unlocked, constantly out of sync. Can’t perform the task and throws an error. I’ve used Tesla, Leapmotor, Honda and this is embarrassing for Volkswagen. Sort it out.

Avant la mise à jour tout allait bien. Ensuite l’application ne se synchronisait plus (données de conduite ou de l’état du véhicule non mise à jour, porte etc…). Également, l’ouverture à distance parfois possible cependant quand j’arrivais à déverrouiller le véhicule, l’application remettait le bouton actif sur « verrouiller », du coup verrouillage impossible à distance.
J’ai désinstallé et réinstallé l’application, rien a changé. J’ai donc réinitialisé en « réglage usine » le module du véhicule et là tout refonctionne.
Il faudrait peut-être alimenter la section faq avec des éléments plus techniques (tuto, témoignages des utilisateurs).

Après plusieurs mois d’utilisation, je suis vraiment très satisfait de mon ID.5 GTX. Le confort est excellent, le silence de conduite est bluffant et les performances sont largement au rendez-vous. Les accélérations sont franches et la transmission intégrale apporte un vrai plus, notamment sous la pluie.

L’autonomie est conforme à ce que j’attendais, avec une recharge simple au quotidien. L’habitacle est spacieux, agréable et la voiture est très confortable, même sur de longs trajets.

L’application Volkswagen est pratique pour suivre la charge, programmer la climatisation et gérer le véhicule à distance.

Quelques petits points pourraient encore être améliorés, comme la réactivité de certains menus de l’infodivertissement ou quelques fonctions de l’application, mais rien qui gâche l’expérience.

Au final, c’est une voiture que je recommande sans hésiter à ceux qui cherchent un SUV électrique performant, confortable et agréable à conduire.
