But if you don’t have the app open on the other device and your own it will not connect and work which is ridiculous… i like it for my young children and having it be open all the time is redundant of the app because they mess with it or close it out and now i no longer have control ALSO after so long it has to be refreshed and reloaded back into which ever option you chose which again is redundant to the purpose! So i wouldn’t recommend the app since you have to pay for it… it’s working capacity is something that should be free. ### 3/5 — Buy a bluetooth media button instead *2021-09-02* I’ve been using this app for a months but lately it seems like the ipad side is constantly unable to reinitialize after waking up. I have to get up and foreground the app to get it to receive every time. I finally decided to purchase a bluetooth media button from Amazon instead. Love it. A much more reliable and convenient way to remote control the ipad. ### 2/5 — Useless App... *2018-11-20* In order for this whole thing to work, you must have this app running on all the devices you want to control. Which makes the whole purpose of this app pointless... Example: you’re in one room doing some work and can’t interrupt, or simply resting on a couch, and you decide to control volume on your other device (iPad), which happen to be in other room with some TV show playing. Well, you CAN’T. Unless you knew you will be using the app and opened it in advance. So, basically, if I have to walk up to the device to open the app to be able to change the volume, I can easily change it without the app..., blah blah, this app is useless, even for $1. ### 4/5 — Works as described *2018-06-19* The app works exactly as described. I’m using it to control my iPad volume remotely as it’s streaming Amazon Music and iHeart Radio over Bluetooth to my A/V receiver. I haven’t used it enough to see if there’s any issues between apps or disconnecting. Very simple and does the trick, one thing I would add would be the ability to name each device so you know which you are controlling as it simply just says iPad and doesn’t differentiate. Doesn’t stay connected so I still manually turn down the iPad when I close the app making it completely useless. Waste of money. Try taking an iPad from a 5 year old to put it into receive mode so I can turn the volume down. Both phone and iPad use the same Apple ID. No way to contact support. In the App Store, it clearly states it supports up to six devices on family sharing. ### 1/5 — Hopeless *2017-09-04* Got the app to try and control the volume on an iPad in another room. It disconnected the Bluetooth speaker when it took control. And, the UI for changing the volume up or down is horrible. Impossible to increase or decrease in small increments like with the volume buttons on the actual device. ### 1/5 — Scam! *2017-01-14* Dear "volume remote control" team, if Apple API can interrupt the program life cycle keeping it from be available at all time and you know it! you are cheating people (stealing to be more clear) by offering this app. You should remove this app from the store just to be honest with the audience. Shame on you team of thieves! Dear parent, if you are like me and you are looking for a way to control your child iPad volume, this program can't do it, in fact probably any program can. This application only work for a little period of time until the OS decided to kill it. **Developer response:** We are not really sure what exactly your statements mean. The app is simple to use. Set one device to Receive Volume, set the other to Control Volume. Keep in mind that if one of the devices goes to sleep, then iOS will disconnect the BlueTooth connection. ### 1/5 — Does not work *2016-03-24* Won't control the volume while on YouTube please refund **Developer response:** The app can control the volume in YouTube in both Safari as well as the YouTube app. The app works by controlling the system volume, so it works with any app. You just need to be sure to allow Bluetooth sharing as described in the settings. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Super handy Volume Control App *2023-09-03, version 1.2* A terrific little AP that I’ve made use of whilst working from home. Whilst working I have music playing from my iPad and now I control my iPad’s volume, remotely. So good. If I had a “Feature Request” it would be for volume “+” and “-“ buttons at either end of the Volume slider. That’d be awesome. ### 5/5 — Let me be clear.. this App works Perfectly *2021-01-19* At night I like to watch some streaming TV on my iPad Pro because it gets me sleepy. But I don't like to get up to pause or mute the show when I'm about to fall asleep because the blood rush from getting up takes away my sleepiness. So I found this app but I was weary because it looks old and the reviews were mixed. I took a chance and let me be clear, it works perfectly. Exactly what it says it does, it does. I installed it on my iPad and iPhone. Set one to receive and voila. It controls the volume exactly as described. Should be 5-Stars but people don't read the description and expect it to do things that it's not designed to do. Thank you! ### 5/5 — Works to control volume on iPad from iPhone *2018-11-24* Worked exactly as described, and was very easy to set up. It would be twice as good if it were accessible from the lock screen, or my phone’s Control Center so it’s easier to control the app without unlocking the phone and getting to the app. I am using this to control my iPad that I keep hardwired into my vintage hifi stereo. I also have a Bluetooth adapter connected to the stereo and I can use the iPad that way too and just keep it relatively close to the Bluetooth receiver/adapter. Either wayI can roam around the house with my phone without worrying about losing connection to the Bluetooth because this app works over the wifi not Bluetooth. I also can control my Spotify on my iPad from my iPhone over wifi (this is native to Spotify), so between Spotify, a more or less dedicated iPad, my old stereo system and this app I have something that works similar to a Sonos set up. I wanted this to control Music volume on a remote device. Had to by Bluetooth. This is the solution I was looking for. Simple to setup with 2 push buttons and then magic!
