### 5/5 — Helped me a lot and saved me $ in flight training

*2022-05-10*

One feature that would be nice is Holdings for example 1NM from station. That way you don’t have the flip flag for example

**Developer response:** Thank you very much, and working on it!!

### 5/5 — Excellent App for basic IFR

*2021-11-27*

Easy and helpful, allows creating custom scenarios and get the idea of ‘the big picture ‘ .

PS; they have great after sales response. I was having trouble with an app and emailed the creators, they fixed it with an update within days!

### 5/5 — Must have !

*2021-09-20*

Very useful app whichever Pilot you are ! Super helpful when I was student pilot to prepare my sim session or my IR flights.

And of course to maintain « the skill » to fly basic IR stuff !

### 5/5 — Great training tool

*2021-04-09*

This is a great way to train your brain to quickly visualize the needles. I’m using this to exercise VOR nav skills in quick 5 minute breaks. Beats social media and cheaper than burning fuel. What it can’t simulate is the task saturation that you can experience in the cockpit. With that, this app is perfect with what it aims to exercise and will hopefully help reduce that workload saturation.

### 5/5 — Useful app for pilots

*2020-12-14*

Very good app for IFR training !
Holding/DME Arc/Interception... You can create your own missions and choose your instruments.
As said in the description, it’s definitely not a game but a great tool for professional pilots.

### 5/5 — Excellent well made trainer

*2020-11-22*

Great tool for students as well as any pilot wanting to have a bit of fun!

### 5/5 — Does the job!

*2020-11-20, version 2.0.10*

I’ll be recommending for my IR students

### 5/5 — Old school interface

*2020-11-04, version 2.0.10*

But very helpful, must have to learn HSI

### 5/5 — HSI

*2020-09-25, version 2.0.10*

To this point, all of my instrument flying had been undertaken on aircraft that was not equipped with an HSI. My plane now has one fitted. This tool has proved itself as an invaluable learning aid.

### 5/5 — Fabulous app

*2020-09-18, version 2.0.10*

Great app to easily & cheaply! practice intercepts & holds.

### 5/5 — Effective and intuitive training tool

*2020-09-01*

Great tool to help learn, practice, and visually understand VOR navigation and holds. A must have for students and even seasoned pilots!

### 5/5 — Most helpful training app.

*2020-07-19*

There are a lot of training apps out there and unfortunately I’ve purchased my fair share. In my opinion this is the one I come back to you most often. It’s easy to use, but it definitely challenges you so you can calibrate your brain to interpret the needles. The author has done an excellent job with this app. I would echo other comments that it would be great to see even more scenarios. Money well spent.

### 5/5 — Nice app

*2020-05-04*

It’s excellent. Requires some patienc i you are hsi expert but it teaches well. You will get the hang of it.
More videos from Kaarsten would be a bonus.
I think the blue arrow on the ehsi points to the vor ?

### 3/5 — Good trainer

*2020-02-22, version 2.0.10*

Where is the common VOR nav receiver? Would be great to have this along side the HSI so that aspiring pilots can practice with the instrument that is more frequently found in trainer aircraft? (More so than an RMI)

Otherwise, nicely done.

### 5/5 — Basic but simple, efficient !

*2019-12-18*

Really a good app to maintain a good level in basics IR procedures.
Efficient to prepare assessment or get your brain ready to work on IR basics path at a time you can’t in your GNSS aircraft.
Cheeper than a simulator software to do exactly the same job you need to do for an assessment or an IR check.
Don’t hesitate! Up load right now!

### 5/5 — Simples e Pratico

*2019-11-11*

Simples e pratico. Facilita muito e potencializa a habilidade de interpretação dos instrumentos quanto a identificação de curso, radial, interceptação, arc dme, etc.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — The way how you rotate the knobs is a nightmare

*2024-05-27*

It’s not possible to use the app because it’s almost impossible to rotate the knobs

A message to the developer. Please change the interface. The best way how to change the heading and a bearing is the way how you enter the alarm time in the clock app. Just do the scroll wheel. But for now I decreased my rating to even 1. I will increase it to five right after you change the interface.

**Developer response:** True, it is almost impossible to rotate the knobs, but only if you try to use a rotating gesture. Tab and slide makes it very smooth. Fun fact: DmitryDen's initial rating was 3 stars, after telling him he did it wrong, he changed it to 1 star.

### 1/5 — Problemas para baixar em ipad

*2020-03-12*

Estou com problemas para baixar no iPad ele trava na metade do download tentei contato com a Apple tmb não resolveram falaram que foi erro do app.

**Developer response:** Hi and sorry to hear you are having problems downloading the app. We can only fix the problem if you provide further information. The problem seems to be very specific and for most users does not exist. Most likely it is related to the iOS version you are using. Please send an email to info@vor-tracker.com and we will fix it.

### 1/5 — Not able to download after purchase

*2020-02-14*

I’m unable to download the App 2nd time (after accidentally deleted it). Please look into the issue

### 1/5 — Won't work

*2017-02-18, version 2.0.3*

App freezes every time I open it, won't respond to any input. Not worth 10 dollars

### 1/5 — Not worth the price

*2016-09-07, version 2.0.3*

Expensive app compare to some free apps you can find and do very much similar practice.

### 1/5 — Prefer a refund

*2016-08-02, version 2.0.3*

Not at all intuitive, no real explainers and a waste of money

### 1/5 — Crap

*2015-11-30, version 2.0.1*

How do I get my money back?!?!?! This thing is garbage. It's useless and more confusing to use than an actual instrument flight. I want a refund!!

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2015-06-06, version 1.2.2*

App doesn't work, totally unusable. Would like a refund

### 1/5 — Worthless...

*2014-08-01, version 1.2*

Complete waste of $7.99

### 2/5 — Doesn’t mimic real world intercepts

*2021-04-14*

The random placement makes no sense. In what world would I intercept the 264 radial inbound if I was EAST of the station? I have to open the map almost every time and reposition so I can intercept under 90 degrees

**Developer response:** There is an option to limit the starting position to within 90°.

The app is not necessarily meant to simulate real life conditions, but to let you practice IFR procedures, so that you get the most out of it. Only being comfortable with intercepting from a certain sector gives me the feeling that it might be better for you not to reposition, but to just fly into that sector. This will greatly enhance your situational awareness.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excellence app to practice DME Arcs

*2026-07-02, version 2.10.0*

Highly recommend for those leading instruments

### 5/5 — A must for anyone wanting to become instrument rated .

*2026-03-07*

The best app for training your brain to instantly know at a glance where your aircraft is, without being actually in the cockpit! Just the repetition and sheer volume you can do helps so much, I love this !!!!

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2024-07-04*

I am currently in IFR training for ATPL. I was looking for a tool that could help me learn how to fly holdings etc. The app is awesome! It has helped me tremendously to understand and practise how to fly a holding!

### 5/5 — Best Interception and Holding Trainer!

*2024-06-19*

I am currently in my practical ATPL training and I was looking for an app that gives me interception and holding tasks as I would encounter them in the cockpit. This app does exactly that. Extremely helpful!! Haven't found anything similar.

### 5/5 — Best App in the world

*2024-05-19*

I downloaded all the vor training apps on the App Store to study instrument flight, but I don't think any app is as practical and helpful as this app. I needed an arc of less than 60 degrees, so I sent an email to the developer, and I was impressed by his immediate response and proactiveness in making corrections. It's worth even $50.
If you want to study instrument flight, be sure to download this app.

### 5/5 — Cool

*2024-05-18*

🥶🥶🥶

### 5/5 — Helps to Understand Vor Navigation

This App is just perfect to get your IFR-skills freshened up for the next check ride or Sim-Assessment. Used it several times for sim assessment preparation over the years. Definitely a recommend!

### 5/5 — Very useful IFR trainer for pilots

*2022-05-12*

This app is really useful to practice IFR basics procedures, such as holdings, interceptions.
It helped me a lot to prepare airlines sims assessment!
I strongly recommend it to all pilots and students to maintain or train their basic IFR skills.
This app has been made by a pilot, for pilots!
