## What is Vota?

In Vota's secret ballots, your organization can know that you took part. Never what you voted.

That sentence is easy to write and hard to keep. Vota keeps it in the data model, not in a promise: the ballot is stored apart from the roster, in a place where no column holds your name, and the permit that connects them is deleted inside the very transaction that casts the vote. After that, neither the administrators nor anyone reading the database can rebuild the link. Even the ballot's timestamp is rounded, so cross-checking the two lists by time is not enough to identify you.

THE APP AND THE SITE DO THE SAME
Whoever prefers a computer votes on a computer. Nobody is left out of the meeting by the device they happen to have.

HONEST ABOUT ITS LIMITS
No system can promise absolute secrecy: in a vote among very few people, the tally alone says a lot. Vota is built so the secret holds against the administrators and against anyone reading the database, and it would rather explain that than promise magic.

Since the previous App Store version, almost everything you do with the phone in your hand has changed.

• Voting by unit: in a subdivision or a condominium the unit votes, and any of its members can cast the ballot
• Proxies with a photo: upload from the camera or the gallery, the administration approves them and they count for every unit vote
• Vote by proxy for another person, and delegate your unit's vote from the ballot
• Roll groups, to summon part of the organization instead of all of it
• Edit a member (name, share, role, status) and resume a draft before publishing it
• The named record of an open poll, for organizers
• Rename the organization and see who an invitation was addressed to before accepting it
• The app speaks English: pick it in "Your account" and everything switches at once
• An invitation link opens the app, and tapping a notice takes you to its screen
• On iPad it looks and works the way it should
• Fixed the unexpected close when saving a draft near a daylight-saving change
