### 4/5 — D’autre langue

*2026-07-03, version 2.47.3*

### 3/5 — Make it better

*2025-11-06, version 2.40.1*

I regret updating to the October 2025 version. More images fail to load in my feed than before, and when I go back to All from a sub, it freezes. This version did not fix the mandatory reload when memory is low-ish.

### 3/5 — Better than many, but still a lot of bugs

*2025-09-29, version 2.40.0*

I’m glad this dev is still active. So many good Lemmy apps have been abandoned. Overall this app has a lot of the best features, but the bugs are still too numerous to tolerate.
When I block a user or community, the first time, the app helpfully hides the post and I continue on. Later, if I block another, the feed JUMPS and I have to figure out where I was.
There are TONS of image/video posts that simply will never load on this app, yet they work flawlessly in nearly all other apps.
The worst, though, is the crashing. It seems like this app doesn’t do a good job of keeping its memory cleaned up. If I scroll (sorted by new) the app will crash after about a day’s worth of my subscribed feed. I can sometimes mitigate this by manually clearing the cache a few times during my browsing.
I would love to see a merger between this app and the Arctic app. I walked away from these bugs and switched to Arctic, but it has sadly joined the abandonware heap.
Devs, I’m back on V-GER for now because the abandoned Arctic has begun to fail with server timeouts. You’re getting a second look out of me after some time. All of the bugs I walked away from are still here. I hope they’re on your priority list somewhere.

### 5/5 — Fantastic Lemmy app

*2025-06-28, version 2.36.0*

Clean and simple to use and fast, reliable, and I’ve used it daily for nearly two years - actually even longer from when it was just a PWA, and it has been absolutely amazing. Great support and compatibility for all my devices across all operating systems to have a familiar and feature rich interface for lemmy no matter what device I am using. Open source, respects your privacy, the best way for an app to be. It single-handedly facilitated my transition from Reddit and my favorite Reddit app into lemmy while doing more, and for that I will be forever grateful :)

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2025-05-30, version 2.35.0*

This app rocks

### 5/5 — Good lemmy client

*2025-04-14, version 2.29.1*

Working stable and looking good.

### 4/5 — Like I never left

*2025-04-14, version 2.29.1*

A seamless transition from Apollo to Lemmy.

Feels like home from home. Which is just in time because fork spez!

### 5/5 — Reddit alternative

*2025-03-30, version 2.27.0*

While not nearly as big it is an alternative to doom scrolling. Good alternative to people permanently banned from Reddit also!

Please add the ability to post gifs in comments like Reddit

### 5/5 — A great Lemmy app

*2025-03-29, version 2.26.0*

This app works great and has all of the app functions I can think of that you’d need to have a good time browsing Lemmy. It also runs great. The New Account Highlightenator is a helpful feature.

If you’re new to the site, it will take a minute for you to personalize your feed, but in general you can find a great community and have a successful time navigating with this app.

The only nitpick I have is that when a person with a long username (which is sometimes even longer due to the name of their home instance following their name) comments, it is difficult to un-collapse their comment one it has been collapsed. The little down arrow v on the righthand side of their comment will un-collapse the comment, but it is a small button that is partially under the scroll bar and also right up against the trim of a phone case so it is difficult to press. Comments by users with shorter usernames are easier because you can just tap the empty space by their name to un-collapse.

Is there any way in-app to see the sidebar for an instance that you come across? Like to see their rules, etc.

It’d be cool the Random Community button could filter by instance. Another idea that may be limited by Lemmy itself, but being able to see the edit history (i.e. times and contents) of posts and comments would be great.

### 5/5 — Great social media

*2025-03-28, version 2.26.0*

Lemmy is a fantastic alternative to Reddit, and Voyager is an interface which offers so much more great functionality and usability. I’m really enjoying it, and learning some new feature every couple of days. This puts the “social” back into social media.

### 5/5 — Solid

*2025-03-25, version 2.26.0*

This app has come a long way. Stellar work by a very good indie dev. I look forward to seeing how the app (and dev) continues progressing. Cheers 🤙

### 5/5 — Solid App for Lemmings

*2025-03-25, version 2.26.0*

I tried this app at first but was so used to Boost on Android that I decided to try some of the alternatives for ios. I didn’t end up liking the other apps so I returned to Voyager and what do you know, this app is great in comparison.

### 5/5 — Refreshing the social media experience

*2025-03-24, version 2.25.1*

Easy to get started for me. Much chiller than Reddit, imo. I feel like the focus is on fun first here, which I am thankful for. This app is definitely helps to make the experience so great. Voyager has for sure won me over for the long haul. I recommend joining if you’re been looking for a more friendly social media. For me it feels akin to how Reddit used to be.

### 5/5 — Solid

*2025-03-16, version 2.25.1*

I spend a lot of time using this app, and it provides an excellent experience using Lemmy.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — If you want to read what porn addicts & incels have to say.. come to Lemmy

*2026-07-16, version 2.47.4*

I didn’t think a place could be worse than reddit but I was wrong, the app was like installing a mini hell

### 1/5 — Expected a community of like-minded people

*2025-11-28, version 2.40.4*

Do you dislike how reddit's upvote system encourages engagement farming?

Do you dislike AI?

Do you dislike lifeless corporatization?

Do you dislike memes without any depth?

Do you dislike keyboard warriors that run on pride instead of their own selfless values?

Then don't touch this thing.

### 1/5 — Share links open an ad for voyager instead of the post/comment

*2025-11-16, version 2.40.3*

If a link to a post or comment is shared from voyager instead of taking you to the post or comment it takes you to an ad for voyager. If you use a different lemmy, or piefed app this means you cannot see the post or comment in your app.

### 1/5 — No longer working on iPhone

*2025-08-27, version 2.39.2*

.

### 1/5 — Cant post comments

*2025-08-11, version 2.39.2*

Can’t post comments from the app. I wish I could but I can’t. I have so many comments I’d like to post but the app refuses to let me. I have so much to offer the Lemmy community that you will never know

### 1/5 — Great until today

*2025-07-22, version 2.39.1*

No longer working on iPhone since the update.

### 1/5 — Limited

*2024-12-13, version 2.21.0*

I was able to ignore some of the non compliant iOS features but now I see it restricts which instances you can sign into. This wasn't previously the case and it's really weird that I have to select from an approved list.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2024-11-04, version 2.18.4*

No matter how many times I make an account remember the login information and passwords it ALWAYS tells me wrong login info. Terrible app wish I could give a 0/5

### 1/5 — Show instances at top

*2024-04-27, version 2.6.0*

Can you make a way for instances to show at the top of the page instead of after the photo? I scroll by looking at instances and skip past the ones I don’t care about. Having the instance at the top would be more efficient so I don’t scroll down then back up.

When you swipe to left on accident and get to the page with all the communities, there is no way to go back. You literally have start at the top and again and scroll until you’re back where you were at.

### 1/5 — Since the update I can’t login to my instance

*2024-04-19*

Since the update it only lets you select instances from the list, but my instance isn’t on the list. Where is the url login?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The best lemmy/piefed app on iphone

*2026-06-26, version 2.47.2*

I really like the compact view with the thumbnail on the right here. Moved from Arctic since they stopped updating the app and this is superior.

I really like how the large post view here, it's my second favorite after thunder's card view, it's faster than thunder and is more feature-complete though.

### 5/5 — Voyager for Lemmy Review

*2025-12-01*

I love the Voyager app so much. It’s open source and privacy focused with lots of great features.

As my first and currently only starting point for Lemmy I found it to be one of the most accessible apps out there.

### 5/5 — GOAT’d

*2025-10-20, version 2.40.1*

Why is this free—THANK YOU! The New Apollo!

### 5/5 — Fantastic app

*2025-09-22, version 2.40.0*

Makes viewing Lemmy from the phone very intuitive and many of the features put it on par or better than comparable (now defunct due to corporate greed and exorbitant API access costs) third-party apps for Reddit.

### 5/5 — Need notifications

*2025-09-21, version 2.39.2*

Love the app, really needs per community and per thread notifications.

### 5/5 — Great app, terrible and extremist community.

*2025-09-12, version 2.39.2*

Doesn’t matter where you go on Lemmy. It’s violence and more violence. It’s an extremist haven that should be avoided at all cost, unless you want to find yourself slowly brainwashed to revel in bloodshed.

I spent two years there after the Reddit API fiasco, and finally, I’m done. I’ll miss it, but not enough to tolerate calls to violence.

It may seem strange to see this review coupled with a 5 star rating. The developer is top notch though, and the app is perfect.

It’s what you encounter across the fediverse though. I have no reason to believe that the developer behind this app is in any way responsible. Otherwise it would be a one star review. I have no complaints with the app, though, just the community.

### 5/5 — A great way to use Lemmy

*2025-08-30, version 2.39.2*

Voyager is a great replacement for Apollo for Reddit. All functionality I used to use in Apollo is here and works beautifully. Fast performance and rock-solid stability. Keep up the great work!

### 5/5 — Grown on me, like the look now

*2025-08-17*

It quick, bugfree, and I prefer it to the other app that supports piefed right now so this may become my main

I really like how the large post view here, it's my second favorite after thunders card view, it's faster than thunder tho

### 5/5 — Voyager for lemmy is a sleak, powerful, and convenient way to interact with the fediverse

*2025-07-17*

It feels almost luxurious to scroll social media without ads embedded every few posts. Voyager’s word filtering and blocking capabilities give you precise control over what is in your feeds. Really excellent experience compared to traditional social media.

### 5/5 — Not my favorite looking one out of the bunch

*2025-07-01*

But its quick, bugfree, and I do prefer it to the other app that supports piefed right now so this may become my main
