I want to pitch up at the club, tap a few buttons whilst walking to the tee and off we go. But you have to click play, add a game, name a game, add a leaderboard 🤷🏼select a course with the right number of holes, select a time, view the scorecard then and only then can you view GPS to see what you are driving into. Then you have to close the GPS to add a score and if you don’t open the GPS it forgets which hole you are on 😤 It’s a bit too much for me perhaps I am not techy enough 🏌️‍♂️Bit more work needed I think OR less work needed, haven’t even touched all the other masses of other stuff in the app that I don’t think most people would find useful. **Developer response:** Hi Mark, thanks for your review and feedback. We have been working on a 'quick start' option, so that if you are not interested in your game format or leaderboards, starting a game will be quicker. we also have a 'GPS Only' mode which means you can skip all of the set up that you mention and just select the correct course. If you are happy to provide some further feedback into the terminology and where you are finding the app complicated, to help steer our future development, please could you contact the team on support@vpar.com. ### 2/5 — Not user friendly and glitchy *2026-05-17* Swapped from hole 19 to vpar and got to say I wish I won’t be renewing . It’s an endless faff starting a game. Once your through that it doesn’t automatically start on your watch so you have to start your watch too . More endless faff and then it won’t recognise the game you’ve started on your phone. It won’t let you mark down your friends scores on your watch either which you have to get your phone out for defeating the object. Also yardages flicker about constantly . You have no idea how far you are from the green . It’s a mess **Developer response:** Hi Richy, thanks for your review and feedback. We're also improving the steps needed to start the game on your watch. Currently you cannot score others on the watch due to the amount of space, but we have also been working on a soltuion to this too. I'm not sure why your yardages were flickering, this certainly shouldn't be the case, so the team will look into this. You can track all your stats (GIR, putts, fairways, sand saves, etc.) and it builds up a clear picture of where you’re gaining or losing shots. It also doubles up as a GPS, so you’ve got distances and course mapping right on your phone perfect for plotting your way around. Plus, if you’re playing with mates, you can set up live leaderboards and track each other’s scores in real time (makes a casual knock about feel like a proper event). There’s a free version if you just want to give it a go, but the premium opens everything up and is 100% worth it if you’re serious about improving ### 5/5 — Best golf app out there *2025-08-15, version 10.6.119* Best golf app by far. The app got the matchups wrong and didn’t work they way we expected. We ended up keeping score on the scorecard instead. Big waste of money ### 2/5 — Course selection crashes on current version *2025-05-05, version 10.5.121* Generally this has been a great app but on the most recent few version the app immediately crashes if you try and access the course list ### 5/5 — This app is a must for all golfers. *2025-04-21, version 10.4.123* The GPS is spot on and works great with my apple watch. Very easy to use and set up games. Plus all the stats you get at the end of the round is good to see how I am getting on. I would recommend this app whether you are a beginner or even a pro. ### 4/5 — Leaderboard filter *2025-02-20, version 10.1.190* App is great for scoring with our society, and is much better than manual cards. But the order of the leaderboard is based on nett strokeplay vs VPar HCP, and not based on Stableford points. For example, team A with 16pts appear in 1st place, despite team B having 18 pts. This is because team A’s VPar net score is +16 and team B’s is +22. But format is a fourball stableford, so should show team with most points in lead. Is there a way to change this setting? ### 3/5 — Updates made but now have errors *2025-02-19, version 10.1.190* Have used for a few years, and it has been great for our groups. Mine updated a few days ago… and now I am unable to change the Handicap allowance from 100%. Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy using our app. Changing distance between yards and metres can easily be achieved from the profile settings area. You are incorrect about the email address. As you were a Premium member, there is no requirement to add an email address for your playing partners. If you fancy giving the app another chance, email the team - support@vpar.com - for a discount code. ### 1/5 — Could be good *2023-11-19* Been using Vpar for a while now and I can find it frustrating to use, as far as I can see there no way to edit or delete your round very annoying. Only found a button to delete from feed but that doesn’t do anything. Quite accurate calculating handicaps, and found the SI to be accurate. Also app never connects to Iwatch so can’t use that to see yardages etc, contacted VPAR about this and awaiting a reply. Adverts annoying too and need to pay a fiver a month to become advert free. Shame because it is really good at hcap calculations and like I say only golf app that has all the SI of the holes correct that I have used, so it works out stableford points right. I need to use it on my Iwatch though so if this doesn’t work will have to delete app. Latest update seems to connect to Iwatch but now receives a message saying you need premium to be able to see yardages on Iwatch, this wasn’t required before the update so why now? **Developer response:** Hi Drew, thanks for your review. If the game hasn't finished and hasn't been submitted yet you can swipe left on the round (from the list within the play button) and hit the ‘delete’ option. Be careful not to delete rounds you want to keep as they cannot be retrieved once deleted. If the game has finished, and has been submitted there is a restriction on being able to delete rounds. This is for two primary reasons. Firstly, there may be other players in the round that it will also affect, and secondly as it may skew your handicap calculation as well as your stats and achievements. If you need a game edited or deleted that you have submitted let us know - support@vpar.com - and we'll be able to help. We can also update any tee data that you have noticed isn't accurate. *Updated - Thanks for your input re the watch, our version 2 is pending Apple's approval and will hopefully be in the store very soon. The gps function just did not work at all. I eventually gave up trying and resorted to use the free version of BEEZER.
