## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Don’t buy through the app

*2020-01-22*

Bought tickets through the app. After the 49ers game the app wouldn’t open for some reason, and the fine guards on duty after the game wouldn’t let me through. Not a big deal to lose $5 just highly inconvenient to have to hunt down a ticket location. Lesson learned that VTA doesn’t do tech. :(

### 1/5 — won’t work

*2019-09-12*

i’m so annoyed. the app keeps saying that there’s a problem accessing the app due to an unknown error, and to uninstall and reinstall. i’ve done this about 6 times and it hasn’t made a difference. i have a good signal and have used both wifi and mobile data and still nothing changes. all other apps i’ve downloaded today have no issue. now i gotta pay double fare bc i don’t get the free transfers.

### 1/5 — Frustrating!!

*2019-08-29*

It’s ridiculous that one has to download the app just purchase a bus fair ticket! Not everyone likes to use their phone for everything and use their bank card! And whats the point of those machines at the light rail station if you cannot purchase a bus ticket?!

### 1/5 — Ambiguous description

*2019-08-15*

Be very careful with what you’re buying. Tickets are only valid in the local area. I was fooled and bought it for my trip all over the Bay Area which turned out to be totally useless!

### 2/5 — No schedule or trip planning

*2021-05-21*

To make this app worthwhile it should have the schedules and trip planning. I need to take VTA light rail into downtown. I’ve been directed to three apps so far. It’s shouldn’t be difficult. As a kid I knew the entire SanTrans bus schedule on the Penninsula. I’ve live in the South Bay for 22 years. Still can’t get an easy to read schedule.

Apple Maps did a better job of informing me, then I could backtrack on the app.

The app either shows the images of routes. Or the map. But not both together. If you’re not familiar with the stops you have no idea which stop is near your destination.

### 2/5 — Ticket type not showing

*2020-06-26*

Cannot book ticket as ticket type is not showing... Missed the bus because of it :(

### 2/5 — Not user friendly

*2019-11-05*

Poor layout. The trip planner portion is impossible to use. Not useful at all. CA is abysmal at mass transit. Tried to plan ride from Milpitas to Levi’s stadium. I know there’s one at great mall but I-880 stop may be easier. Unable to find times the trains run.

### 2/5 — Some improvement

*2018-12-13*

The app has been improved. The ticket purchase screen is more orderly, but still lacking a map view and schedule info for easy trip planning.

There still isn’t a map 🗺 of the bus stops.

The more info page is just links to other apps and to the desktop version of the website. This makes getting info and timetables a hassle.

Apple Pay support has been added, a much overdue feature.

### 3/5 — Super convenient, could be 5 Star

*2018-05-30*

First of all, I’m not sure what the 1 star reviewer who says that this isn’t on the iPhone X is talking about, I’m on an X and this app works perfectly.

I don’t typically carry cash or coins so this app has been a game changer. A clipper card is just another card to make my wallet fatter when I’m desperately trying to do the opposite. Since I already carry my phone, being able to buy a bus pass on it and not waste paper or have an extra thing to keep track of is simply wonderful.

However, this app could use a few things.

The Good:

- Super convenient, I can buy my bus pass as I’m boarding and I don’t have to carry cash or coins

- the interface and options are simple and straightforward, no excessive bloat

For Improvement:

- I wish I could buy and have a monthly or annual pass on the app

- I buy the same ticket every time, having a “purchase again” option would save me taps and time and make me so much happier

- Having active/unused tickets on the main screen instead of in a separate menu would be another tap and time saver

Absolutely Crucial:

- As you move forward, please keep the app as simple as possible, similar to how it currently is.

- Adding Face ID authentication for purchases and logging in would be smart. At the moment, anyone who gets my phone while it is unlocked could buy or use a ticket and be cities away before I track down my stolen phone.

Kind of Annoying:

- what’s up with all the separate trip apps? I thought tapping those menu options would open functionality in this app. I’d rather 1 app instead of multiple. Just like cutting down on wallet size.

Just to tell how great this app is: I was biking back from Hollister this weekend, the total trip distance would have been 132 miles, but, due to the high head wind and 80 degree sun brutally beating me, I decided I was content at 100 (actually 101). With no cash in my wallet and the closest bank miles away, this app let me buy a ticket and hop on the 68 and enjoy the lazy, AC chilled rest of the ride.

Thank you VTA

### 4/5 — Super convenient

*2019-06-03*

I only wish it had mobile friendly time tables.

### 5/5 — Convenient

*2019-06-15*

It’s a great app to have when you realize you don’t have your clipper card or cash on you. I can only assume very few people not having their phone with them nowadays

The app has always worked and the transfer to the bus is a breeze. I haven’t had any issues with payments or anything. Pretty simple to use.

### 5/5 — Easy convenient

*2019-02-22*

I use this app to purchase ticket. Don’t worry about cash or the ticket machine. I can validate my ticket when I am in rush without scanning clipper card or buying ticket. View schedules and transited routes

### 5/5 — No clipper card needed

*2019-02-19*

Great app any time I wanna but a ticket it’s right at my finger tips and it’s so convenient it’s better then the clipper card

### 5/5 — Moovel’s rock!

Now we’re talking! This is how you design modern app in Silicon Valley! With ❤️ Pay, Face ID and X screen support. Way to get it done!
