About VTAlerts. 
 This safety application is designed for the VTA bus and light rail system in Santa Clara County in California. The VTAlerts App offers riders a quick and discreet method for reporting safety concerns and suspicious activities directly to VTA Security or, in the event of an emergency, directly to police. Riders can send VTA security pictures, text messages, and locations of suspicious persons and/or activities making riding safer and more comfortable for all.  

From the app home screen, riders have two easy options for contacting security:  

1. The “Report a Problem” button allows riders to send text or photos directly to VTA Security. To ensure discretion, the camera flash is automatically disabled when photos are taken through the app. Riders can select station locations and report categories to assist VTA Security. Riders can also send reports anonymously if they choose. If you send a report in an area without cellular connectivity, it will be stored and sent when connectivity returns. The system is also designed to send the message before pictures so that VTA Security can get App reports as quickly as possible.  
 2. The “Call 911” button will connect customers directly to the police.

BOLO (Be On the Look Out) Alerts. BOLO Alerts on the See & Say App may display alerts from VTA Security about specific persons of interest. For example, VTAlerts may display information about a missing person or child, such as where they were last seen. Very lazy, and not useful, approach to the app ### 1/5 — They don’t fix reports *2025-06-18, version 4.0.0* App is ok but doesn’t do any good. There was human feces at VTA station on the stairs everyone has to use. I reported it with pictures. Nothing was ever done about it. Three weeks later there’s a second pile of feces. Station is filled with graffiti and garbage. All the drivers are wonderful: riding over a year & the only problem was a driver who had trouble with GPS/directions—still he stayed pleasant. Bad. Even on a good day you must allot 3 hours for a 30 minute errand. Missed MD treatment last week after driver called in & driver responsible for extra was freaking out—very late. Two persons going home & I had MD appointment but VTA never prioritize. Several riders tell me VTA can literally drive by their home, but not allowed off—can drive 30 minutes after passing your home to turn around & finally be permitted off— no sense & very costly . It should allow common time and date entries without requiring the exact format. When you view a trip then go back it should still show your last entry so you don't have to retype everything. For the love of God, just release an official app that shows an interactive, live updating map, with ALL the stops, an accurate time table and a journey planner.
