Please bring this feature back. ### 3/5 — Average, but not beyond *2020-12-07, version 1.1.8* VUit is great for watching your local news live or on replay. The biggest flaws are that if you use your control panel it’ll pause what’s playing. There’s no multitasking. If your alarm goes off and you swipe it up to dismiss then your program will pause. For that reason I’m giving a 3/5. IMO it’s the best way to watch your local news stations on the go without a cable subscription by far! ### 3/5 — Feature suggestion *2020-10-09, version 1.0.9* VuIt needs to add multitasking capability to allow users to watch a stream while using another app, either via picture-in-picture or side-by-side app tasks. ### 1/5 — Not Ready for Prime Time *2020-09-03, version 1.0.9* Read a nice article about VUit in the WSJ and decided to try it. Well, I found that it’s one of those things, “That’s not quite ready for prime time.” Appears they have “jumped the gun” on announcing it was ready - ‘cause it “ain’t” ready by a long shot! Most channels I clicked on were blank with a message saying they were “having technical difficulties. Too, and it might be the time of day I tried VUit, seems like local news and weather is all I get at the channels that I can receive at all. VUit seems to be trying to provide streaming of many TV stations around the United States, but at the moment they are struggling. If they don’t iron out their technical problems and carry things other than local news/weather within a few weeks, they might as well hang it up. I’m tired of businesses using the present day strategy of, “ready, fire, and then aim.” They need to go back to the tried and true business model of, “ready, aim, and then fire.” ### 1/5 — Truly Disappointing *2020-09-03, version 1.0.9* There are stations on here that are nearby (available on local cable) but hard to pick OTA. I was thrilled when I saw those stations on here and the schedule even shows regular broadcast shows. But it’s only live when the news is on. The rest is repeats of the news. Well one station is completely dark outside of the news hours. It’s kind of funny but sad how it periodically breaks the darkness for a commercial break. Hope this evolves into something better but it’s barely worth it for just the news. ### 1/5 — Limited, slow and buggy *2020-09-01, version 1.0.9* I can’t record. Only shows news but nothing in between news shows. No audio. Constantly buffering. Black screens are common. It might be good if my favorite show to watch was local news and nothing else. I only use it for KTSF. Why Spanish commercials? Annoying inconstancy volume? I’ll definitely not use this app if KTSF will offer another option for Cantonese news streaming ### 1/5 — Totally irrelevant commercials *2022-04-26, version 2.0.0* Several months ago, Vuit was unbeatable. It was a fantastic app to catch up on your local news, even if it was a replay because you couldn’t watch it live at the time. Now it has completely irrelevant commercials. Who cares about a car lot selling cars 400 miles away and watching the same 6 irrelevant commercials replay over and over? If anything, that’s a real turn-off for viewers. Now if you happen to miss your local news at the live time it’s on, you’re end up watching a news channel somewhere in Tennessee. Why would a viewer in Wisconsin want to watch a random news channel 800 miles away? Whoever is in charge of this app and it’s content needs to step aside and let someone with some common sense take it over and put it back the way it was. ### 1/5 — If I could give 0 I would *2022-01-21, version 1.2.2* KTSF shouldn’t have moved to this app. When it airs commercials it goes overtime into whatever you’re watching and it suddenly cuts to your broadcast, but the show has already started, so you’re basically watching half the broadcast without knowing the first half. The ads are also long and irrelevant. Do not download. ### 1/5 — Keep Chinese commercial instead English commercials *2022-01-18, version 1.2.2* This app is good but when my parents watch Ktsf 26 on this app when it time for Chinese New and then commercials cut into English version and my parents don’t understand so which you guys can keep the commercials in Chinese instead English commercials ### 1/5 — 12/29/21 KTSF issues problems ver 1.2.2 *2021-12-29, version 1.2.2* Using ktsf the ON DEMAND videos: 1) it is unorganized! ————————————————— 2) also to view previous ON DEMAND videos I need to keep on scrolling to the right while only can see two events at a time. ——————————————————————————— Fix VIDEO ON DEMAND organization ———————- 1) Organize separately by event titles: i.e. ktsf/news section, drama section, etc… ——————————————————————————- 2) VIDEO ON DEMAND needs larger viewing area instead of two events at a time when scrolling to the right. Also whatever is under video on demand at the bottom is old and not needed like New Years and Martin Yan! ——————————————————————————- 3) viewing video in landscape it is not possible to scroll/skip through video with Apple Home Bar (long white horizontal bar) blocking the circle. ### 1/5 — On-demand streaming removed *2021-08-17, version 1.2.0* Version 1.2.0 came with the on-demand streaming removed, and so channels can now only be watched in real time. This app became useless in an instant! ### 1/5 — Poor *2021-07-21, version 1.1.11* Don’t want to load anything not even my local channels, and if it does load then I can’t watch my local channel cause they’ve already aired and have to wait for it so I can watch it later. I’ll just go back to paying extra on my services to watch my local channel at least I know it will be on and I don’t have to wait for or even hope it comes on. This app has gone downhill and just needs to be removed ### 1/5 — Can’t get my local news *2021-06-11, version 1.1.11* For almost 2 weeks I hasn’t been able to get my local news ### 1/5 — No integrations with airplay or Chromecast *2021-01-13, version 1.1.11* The app itself has a basic and simple user interface. Not the most visually appealing but it does its job. The biggest pain point is the app’s inability to cast to other devices such as AirPlay or Chromecast. This is a very basic option that any video streaming platform should have. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Good Content, overall good can be excellent *2022-09-07, version 2.0.3* I’m glad I can finally watch local news without paying a subscription, but the app can use some touch ups, like PiP (Picture in Picture) feature or at least a background player. But overall, i’m not complaining since it’s free of charge ### 5/5 — Love it *2020-09-05, version 1.0.9* I only wanted the app to get my favorite local channel that isn't on my streaming service. Works great! ### 4/5 — Still needs a good bit of work *2024-02-11* Still needs some work. I was watching a video of an earthquake in Alaska. Video but no sound. This is my second time trying to watch the same video after hang ups in getting the video to play. It’s a great video on a earthquake that hit Anchorage back in 2018. I only got into about 20% of the video before it started screwing up. if you want to watch the video just do a search for 7.1. ### 4/5 — Great App for Locals *2023-09-26* I’ve been using VuIt on Roku for years, and now on my iPhone. No performance issues, everything works well and how it should. Some reviewers complain that most stations have repeats of local newscasts when not airing the station’s news live. That has nothing to do with this app - its the local stations that do not have live 24 hour streaming news. Most local stations do not. Local stations cannot carry the network programming, but that may change soon with changing of how carriage fees are contracted. VuIt has a good amount of and variety of local tv stations, many that are not carried on other live streaming apps. History of updates indicates VuIt fixes security issues immediately, which also protects the app users. I do watch specific distant station’s news and live feeds when there is a major news event in their area, mostly severe weather events or other major news story to get the unedited and unspun real perspective that only local news can provide. ### 4/5 — Mostly very, very good. *2021-12-10, version 1.2.2* I use the app to watch Channel 69 news either from my iPad or Apple TV device. However, Channel 69 has not worked on Apple TV for several days, yet the other channels do work. Deleting the app, reinstalling, makes no difference. So I will just use the iPad or mirror it to the TV. Sorry to put that in a review, just see no other place to report it. Back to the app…it is a good one, and with the above mentioned exception, works very, very well. If I were to improve it I would NOT use the slow time lapse images or vegetation or the parrot during commercial time, but instead would use some screen save type image like colorful changing patterns or similar. One additional annoyance…sometimes, during commercial break, it freezes up and the you have to out of the program and come back in, then it works again. The app on this iPad works great, always has, but on the Apple TV device, not so much. To view on TV I will continue to screen mirror from this iPad. ### 4/5 — Chrome Cast *2021-07-18, version 1.1.11* It would be nice to be able to cast this from my phone to my google chrome stick. I tried updating to no avail, same problem. I removed the app, cleaned up and reinstalled the app. Same problem. Not on my end I guess I’ll just have to use the website instead of the app. Good reason to ditch apps for websites! ### 3/5 — Latest Update From August 2021: Lost On Demand *2021-08-14, version 1.2.0* I just recently updated the app and when I did I noticed that the on demand feature that showed the past shows and newscasts on demand was gone. This is very disappointing to me as I used the feature frequently.
