## What is Vyx Player?

Vyx is a fast, focused media player and playlist manager for your own IPTV and M3U content.

Vyx does not include any channels or content – you bring your own playlist or provider account.

Your playlists and viewing history are yours. Nothing is sent to us. If you turn on iCloud sync, they travel through your own iCloud account to your other devices and nowhere else. To show richer movie and series details, Vyx can look up titles on TMDB – only the title is sent, never who you are, and you can turn it off in Settings.

### 1.7.1 — 2026-08-25

- Deleted playlists stay deleted, and re-importing no longer leaves duplicates. Settings gains Delete All Playlists.
- When something won't play, Vyx says why instead of showing a black screen.
- If your provider stops serving films and shows, Vyx says so before you go browsing.
- Titles with a comma keep their whole name across your devices.
- Exported playlists keep their catch-up.
- The TV guide is only downloaded again when it has actually changed.
- Better contrast in light mode.

### 1.7.0 — 2026-08-21

- Send live TV to your television. Choose an AirPlay device in the player and live channels now arrive with the picture, not just the sound.
- Catch Up for playlists that keep their own recordings. If your playlist says it holds the last several days, those programmes now appear and play; before, this worked only for Xtream accounts.
- Large TV guides now load. A guide too big to read was quietly thrown away, leaving the whole playlist with no programme data at all. It now loads, and a guide that genuinely cannot be read says so instead of looking empty.
- Long lists of films and box sets no longer skip titles as they load.
- In search, tapping a poster opens the show you tapped.
- The player no longer freezes on a stream that has stopped responding.
- Spotlight finishes indexing your library if a first run was interrupted.

### 1.6.0 — 2026-08-16

- Your playlists, favourites, watch history and settings now follow you to your other devices over iCloud. Turn it on in Settings, under Privacy & Security.
- Parental lock: give a group a PIN and its contents disappear from the app until you unlock it - out of the lists, out of search, and out of Spotlight.
- Vyx now speaks Arabic, French, German, Russian, Spanish and Turkish as well as English, and follows your device's language. You can also pick one yourself in Settings.
- Light and dark. Vyx follows your device's appearance by default on a new install, and you can set it either way in Settings, under Appearance.
- Find a film, channel or box set from your home screen. Vyx's library now appears in Spotlight search, and tapping a result opens it. Turn it off in Settings, under Privacy & Security.
- Playlists can refresh themselves on a schedule, so a provider's changes arrive without you asking.
- Play the next episode automatically, and set the subtitle and audio language you prefer once instead of every time.
- Search moved behind an icon and searches the tab you are on, so the lists are no longer pushed down the screen by a search bar you were not using.
- Player: a lock button so a stray touch cannot change anything, the channel name where you can see it, and settings you can read at a glance.
- A playlist of box sets is now filed under Series instead of Channels. Anything you had favourited moves with it.
- Films and box sets from a playlist imported from a file now reach your other devices too, not just its channels.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-07-28

- Catch up TV: replay programmes that have already aired, on channels your provider records. Look for the clock on a channel, or filter the list to just those channels.
- Change channel without leaving the player – step through with previous and next, or open the new channel browser over the video and jump anywhere.
- Buffering is now yours to set, separately for live TV and for films. Raise it if the picture keeps freezing; change it mid-stream from the gear.
- See a stream's real resolution and frame rate, so you can tell apart the near-identical copies of a channel your provider lists.
- Playback speed for films and series.
- Your subscription's expiry date now appears on the playlist card, with a warning in its final week.
- Settings reorganised into sections, so it is no longer one long scroll.
- You can now set a custom User-Agent if your provider blocks the default.
- Importing a playlist by URL no longer misses features that only the provider's account can supply.
- Fixed a bug where Vyx could delete your playlists if it failed to open your library. It no longer deletes anything, and tells you what happened instead.
