## What is W?

W-AIR MIDI is a midi enabled app which sends and receives MIDI messages and is designed to be a companion app for the BOSS Waza Air Headphones as well as midi capable foot pedals and controllers.  Via the use of midi messages, the app can select/retrieve presets, adjust and toggle effects, and adjust some of the effects settings.  The app provides a full touch interface as well as mapping of midi CC codes to most controls for midi controller or foot pedal use.

Specific features include:

- Preset selection which retrieves the preset and displays the preset's effects state and levels
- Gauges for Boost, Mod, Fx, Delay 1, Delay 2, Reverb, and Ambience with level change (slider under the gauge) or on/off toggle (tapping the gauge)
- Each effect displays the active effect colour and name, and tapping this will cycle through the three effects (green, red, yellow)
- The effect assignment to each colour block can be swapped from the list of effects via the swap icon to the left of the effect colour block
- Some effects settings are exposed and can be edited via the levels icon to the right of the effect colour block
- Tap tempo can be set with a slider or tap for both delay 1 and delay 2, showing both BPM and millisecond intervals.  The tap tempo also has a copy and half value copy feature between the two tap tempos
- Faders for Gain and Volume control
- Noise Gate setting
- Preset EQ, Bass, Mid, Treble, and Global EQ settings
- Selector switches for Amp Selector, Gyro Selector, Sound Selector, and Cabinet
- Battery level indicator
- Tuner
- Decoupling of Fx/Delay and Mod/Boost so that all effects can be used simultaneously
- Allows preset settings to be saved (including name updates) as well as exported and imported
- Assignable Midi CC codes for most controls via a Midi learn mode feature (when activated, the app listens for incoming CC code and shows that code in the learned code box, simply tap the gauge or slider you wish to assign that code to).
- Midi CC mapped controls can be used to select presets, toggle effects on/off, cycle through the effect block/colour, open effects settings, move faders (with an expression pedal or volume knob) and the same CC code can be assigned to more than one control when appropriate (i.e. one button to toggle the Fx and Boost at the same time)
- Assigned CC codes are preserved as user settings and recalled when restarting the app and can also be exported to file and imported from file
- Supports landscape,  portrait, as well as split view
- The screen is zoomable with pinch gesture.  This is useful for Split View and resizing the Split View of this app to fit the screen
- A bluetooth device discovery page is available from within the app (to view/select the connection state of the headphones and any midi bluetooth pedals detected)

This app is not meant or intended to replace the official BOSS BTS app, it simply exposes some of the most common settings that would be adjusted while playing.

Note that the BTS app does not need to be running to use this app (in fact it is best if it isn't to avoid conflicting messaging).  

IMPORTANT: This app works with the BOSS Waza Air Headphones with no guarantee of compatibility with future firmware releases.

Compared to the Boss app this is sooo much easier to use. The tuner works great as well. Get this app if you have waza airs and if you have the katana air amp, the K-Air app is layer out the same way and makes using both products a step up from the Boss experience! Thanks for developing these apps. They have made me a better guitarist as they are awesome for practice!

This is a great app for wazza air headphones . The boss app is absolutely awful this simplifies it brilliantly . If you have the headphones get this it’s great . Best on iPad by the way 👍

I’m a blind guitarist and this works pretty well with voiceover on iphone.  The official app does not.  I can now edit my Air headphones without bugging a friend with sight to help.  The only thing is i can’t figure out how to get presets and live sets from Tone Exchange to my headphones. I would greatly appreciate any help.

As for importing/exporting presets, this only supports exporting and importing to and from files that are in its own native format.  It is intended to backup/restore presets or to exchange presets between users of the W-AIR MIDI app or the K-AIR MIDI (the Katana Air version of this app).  Unfortunately the app will not interact with the Tone Exchange directly, you would need to import those via the Boss Tone Studio app.  Once imported however, this app can be used to interact with those presets as designed.  I hope this helps.

Could use a facelift but at least this app lets you use a mod such as chorus along with a a boost of overdrive. Better than boss tone studio.

As for the UI, the initial goal was to provide a UI with as much of the key settings visible/accessible on a single screen (at least for the iPad version) and being able to activate/adjust settings relatively easily (either via touch or midi, while keeping the menu diving to a minimum).  Basically keeping it as simple and functional as possible.  This was harder to achieve on the iPhone version (hence the three screen modes).  That said, I appreciate the feedback and will look to improve the UI in future updates.
