## What is W Card Sorting Test?

The W Card Sorting Task (WCST) is used primarily to assess perseveration and abstract thinking, the WCST is also considered a measure of executive function because of its reported sensitivity to frontal lobe dysfunction.

Test instruction:
Each card has three stimulus parameters (color, mark, and number).
Respondents are required to sort cards according to different principles and to alter their approach during test.

Results:
Results are reported as the number of seconds required to complete the task and number of mistakes; therefore, higher scores reveal greater impairment.

As such, the WCST allows you to assess respondent’s strategic planning; organized searching; and ability to utilize environmental feedback to shift cognitive sets, direct behavior toward achieving a goal, and modulate impulsive responding.

A rough standard:
Score is depends on age or gender however most in 120 seconds, 10 mistakes

### 1/5 — Wrong

*2025-05-27*

That’s not how test works. In real test it just tells you if answer is right or wrong and nothing else. This is waste of money

### 2/5 — 練習用ですね

*2019-12-21*

赤とオレンジの色の区別がつきにくい。太い線と細い線が混在。細い線はことさら赤とオレンジの識別困難。本物のテストとはルールが全く違う。練習用には良いかも。

**Developer response:** 色の違いが区別しにくいのは古いバージョンとの互換性のためにあえてそのままにしています。　練習用としてお使い下さい…
