### 1/5 — Horrible, absolutely horrible

*2025-08-30*

Lags all the time, app is so cluttered and UI is very unintuitive. I can program an app better than this, and Im not even a CS person. Bring GrubHub back I dont want this trash

### 1/5 — Not User Friendly

*2025-08-30*

The app itself is not very official looking. I cannot get my campus card to link to the account, and the UI is very finicky. It’s hard to tell whether I’m checking out or exiting from a location without losing what is in my cart. When opening the app, it asks multiple times (3-4 times) for the location that I want to order from. Given how glitchy the app is, I also would not want to give it any personal information because it seems like something that a third party could easily gain access to.

### 1/5 — Broke everything

*2025-08-29*

The entire dining program has fallen apart. Most places you can’t order and when you do order you don’t even get a side with your food for your meal exchange. I don’t even know how any app could be so bad at its one job and also it’s entire design is stupid. Please can we just have GrubHub again nobody wanted this

### 1/5 — Won’t let me add my Cav Card

*2025-08-29*

Please fix this. I just want to use my meal exchange T-T

### 1/5 — Genuinely awful

*2025-08-29*

Button presses, UI, and general interaction is genuinely terrible and clearly developed by a company who will never use this

### 1/5 — Just Not Good

*2025-08-29*

Have no idea why the university decided to switch grubhub to this, i understand having your own app for campus dining, however, it should properly be tested before rolled out for active use during the semester. Extremely unoptimized. Connected my card and tried to use my meal exchange to grab food and it prompts me for payment method and does not let me proceed further. Effectively making this app useless for me. We're informed a 1 dollar total would pop up but the fact the app asks for a payment method is absurd. I do hope you will fix this as it's just extremely unconvenient and I was not able to use my physical card either as the scanner at The Castle wasn't working

### 1/5 — Get some compsci majors in here asap

*2025-08-29*

This app is not intuitive or user friendly, and frankly, it looks like it was built as an intro to compsci midterm. No idea why we ditched Grubhub for this dumpster fire, literally made an account here just to write this review.

### 1/5 — Terrible design and a huge downgrade from the Grubhub app

*2025-08-29*

There are several bugs in the app. I tapped a button and the app repeatedly created alerts saying “Session expired” until I closed the app. Some of the buttons don’t work at all. It should also include Apple Pay as a payment option if it’s already accessing the Apple Wallet app.

The UX and UI are terrible. The app is confusing to navigate because it reopens the nav menu when you hit the back button. The UI is unappealing at every glance.

Why is it collecting so much data? Why does it need my browsing history? Why is it asking me to submit my address? That’s a waste of my time if I’m just ordering some sandwiches from subway.

This is a terrible app. UVA should’ve stuck with Grubhub. I’m not sure why UVA rushed into creating this app instead of keeping Grubhub while they created a stable app.

### 1/5 — Terrible UI

*2025-08-29*

Terrible to use and keeps signing me out

### 1/5 — Ts ts ts

*2025-08-29*

Gurt ahh app

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2025-08-29*

Useless and terrible ux.

### 1/5 — Terrible UI

*2025-08-28*

Doesnt work with all restaurants, slow, subpar appearance. Bring back grubhub over this nonsense

### 1/5 — Horrible horrible app

*2025-08-28*

I have no idea what the hack UA was thinking about. The login step was annoying and I couldn’t link my campus card to the app. The interface also was horribly designed. I literally have to log out to be able to switch to a different dining location. They make my dining experience even worse those year.

### 1/5 — An undergrad could do better.

*2025-08-28*

Only for a second let’s ignore the fact that this app was delayed and not prepared to launch on-time.

Using the app feels incredibly clunky, slow, and downright unusable at times. The vast majority of users have been reporting app-breaking bugs such as the inability to add campus cards to their account. That is the entire point of the app. Nobody needs this if you can’t add your card to it. Even for the small percentage that do just add a debit card, the user experience is horrible. This app, officially contracted by the University of Virginia, performs worse than the final projects of many first-years in their Software Development courses. How this got funded is quite frankly absurd.

### 1/5 — try again

*2025-08-28*

horrible is generous… new app is skirting on unusable, took me seven (7 !!) tries to upload my cav card without it bugging out. overall looks like a first year cs student hobby project but functions more poorly. at least they took the extra time to delay the release to really perfect the app, right??

wrong. try again uva

### 1/5 — What even is this

*2025-08-28*

I guess this was created to phase out Grubhub to save money? They’re not doing too hot. And the university probably pockets the money. Clunky UI, random error messages, no way to check wait time or how many people in line, no way to log in with netbadge, it leaves a lot to be desired. UVA should have waited until all features were implemented and tested before removing everything from Grubhub. It seems like they downgraded our experience for no reason.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with meal exchange

*2025-08-28*

Such a horrible product. Switch back to Grubhub!!!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Horrible and unnecessary

*2025-09-03*

Even if the app worked as intended, it still has awful interface and is clunky to use. Going from GrubHub to this was a waste of resources and ruins the dining experience.

### 1/5 — Sum Buttcheeks

*2025-09-03*

This jawn ain’t even work bruv, try adding my campus card and it hard locks my screen. So not epic dudes, also like Grubhub wuz right there. Erm idk what we doin guys but it’s not great. My 3 year old cousin could program a better app

### 1/5 — Where’s my rice bowl

*2025-09-02*

If you’re gonna make an app for the uva meal exchange and flex dollar dining options, then you’d probably want to put all of said dining option on the app. Not really feeling sitting in line to order my rice bowl which will take about 10 minutes including the line when they’d pump that baby out in two minutes after I’d order on grub hub last semester. What are we doing guys. Should have expected this from the people who brought us SIS I guess

### 1/5 — 1st year gender studies major can do better.

*2025-09-02*

Wahoo Eats is an exercise in frustration disguised as an app. Its entire purpose is supposed to be simple: let students order ahead and pay with their campus card. Yet it consistently fails at the one job it was built to do. The interface is buggy, crashes are frequent, and the process of adding a campus card is so confusing and broken that many people give up entirely.

The irony is that ordering ahead should be the most basic, streamlined feature imaginable. Instead, Wahoo Eats makes you jump through hoops, only to deliver error messages and wasted time. The app creates more hassle than convenience, which defeats its entire reason for existing.

Honestly, a first-year gender studies major putting together a prototype for class could design something more functional and intuitive than this embarrassment. Wahoo Eats does not just underperform, it is actively hostile to users trying to do something as simple as grab lunch between classes.

Do yourself a favor: skip the app, stand in line, and save yourself the headache.

### 1/5 — delete this

*2025-09-02*

this is the worst app I have ever used. Everytime I open it I want to leave. this app makes me want to transfer. save your soul and DO NOT DOWNLOAD

### 1/5 — If it could be zero- it would be.

*2025-09-01*

I can barely log in and when I do I can’t get anything and once I select a store it kicks me out. Unnecessary app.

### 1/5 — AAAAAHHHHHHHH

*2025-09-01*

What the heck UVA. Worst app on the planet. Makes you pay 1000s of dollars only for your orders to be screwed up if this app even registers them at all.

### 1/5 — Worst app ever

*2025-09-01*

Throws lots of bugs, not intuitive, couldn’t order food, confusing, annoying

### 1/5 — everyone behind this app should feel bad

*2025-08-30*

#andimeanthat

### 1/5 — Trash

*2025-08-30*

What intro CS class assigned this as the final project

## Most praised reviews (3 highest-rated)

### 2/5 — Wahoo did not eat with this one

*2025-08-29*

UI equivalent to fluorescent lighting, extra star because I did get my food

### 2/5 — Needs more info

*2025-08-28*

Doesn’t tell me how many meal swipes or flex dollars I have left, not a fan

### 2/5 — Downgrade from using Grubhub

*2025-08-28*

It’s new, hopefully it will get better. It being location based makes it difficult to find all the options on campus at once.

The order process is no longer streamlined - you don’t have all the options in front of you and the UI is pretty confusing.

No way to go back to main menu to switch restaurants without closing the app either is pretty brutal me
