### 2/5 — Better, still needs work (and users!)

*2022-12-04, version 5.9*

RGT is better now than it was last time I tried it a couple years ago - and it definitely has potential- but it’s not there yet. UI is buggy in places on the AppleTV, to the point of being app-breaking. Beyond that, there’s nobody here! 22 users on the main course… compared to 4,000+ on Watopia. I’m ending my trial 6 days early because I can’t enable my speed sensor today even though it worked the last time I used the app. Works fine in Zwift, as I’m riding right now as I type this. Hopefully the team at Wahoo can make this a true Zwift competitor but it isn’t one today.

### 3/5 — Ok could be better

*2022-10-23, version 5.7*

For the money spent with wahoo youd think we could get at least a year or 6 months free if purchased a kickr as the free rides are nothing to get excited over and the feedback such as ambient sounds (crowds noise etc) makes for a dull riding experience as opposed to Zwift. I like the things it does offer but before moving from one to the other id like to know its worth it

### 2/5 — Graphics

*2022-10-19, version 5.7*

I have fiber optic to the house running directly to the Apple TV with Wahoo RGT and it’ll only run low graphics so it’s not worth it as far as I’m concerned. you can see the other riders feet are not attached to their pedals

### 4/5 — Very Good and Getting Better

*2022-08-05, version 5.6*

Started using this when Wahoo bought the platform. I was turned off by Zwift but so like the ride feel in this app. They really have figured out the physics of riding in the app. It also allows for uploading workouts and real world courses. I would like to see a bit more improvement to some of the interface but overall I am enjoying the app.

**Developer response:** Hello, thanks for taking time out to review the app. We love the ride experience ad physics too and agree that we could work to improve the interface in places. See you on the road.

### 3/5 — Can’t use leuven after newest update

*2022-07-17, version 5.6*

Hangs on the loading screen. Only canary wharf available for free

### 4/5 — On an iPhone 11 plus the screen is super tiny. Unreadable

*2022-07-16, version 5.6*

I don’t know who designed this app, but they must have microscopic vision. The screen on a plus size iPhone is super tiny. I need a magnifying glass to read it.
It must have been designed for an iPad or computer rather than a phone.
Make it so you can zoom in. Or design it to be legible on a phone.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the four stars! We've had some feedback before about text size etc. and although we have not scheduled any work to improve it, we do want to make it better for everyone to use.
Keep your eyes peeled (no pun intended)

### 2/5 — Want it to be good

*2022-06-06, version 5.5*

I hope Wahoo puts some effort into this. I’ve have several rides timeout/crash several miles into the ride, frustrating that I have to start over. Also noticed that several KOM times are unattainable. I’ll stick with this in hopes that it will get better similar to the Sufferfest app which I had been a long time member of prior to Wahoo taking over…please fix the constant crashing

### 3/5 — Sparse roads, small font, but not bad

*2022-05-14, version 5.5*

After getting annoyed with the woke politics of other well-known writing apps, I decided to give RGT a try. I'm 52 and I wonder if any of the developers or employees at the company are over the age of 25, because the small font makes the app practically unusable. Once I got my glasses and got my ride going I was able to screen cast to a big TV so I could see what the heck was going on. They were only a few riders on the road with me but overall I can see this will be a fine alternative.

### 1/5 — Not working for me on iPhone 8

*2022-04-28, version 5.4*

Installed app but when you try to start the ride it keeps saying waiting for rider packet then get a red connection wifi symbol and never connects.

### 3/5 — Sensor support needed

*2022-02-18, version 5.3*

Sure would be a 5 star if RGT supported speed sensors on Bluetooth and dual speed/cadence sensors like other competitors.
RGT looks great, but I can’t use it for now so I’ll be on the ‘other’ one

### 2/5 — Frustration

*2021-11-25, version 5.0*

This app is an endless source of frustration. I often spend at least 15 minutes just trying to get it started because you have to coordinate the bike sensor, app, and another device. Then you have to push power button to connect the sensor, which is not intuitive at all. They must’ve changed something again and I cannot get this thing going.
It’s free and you get what you pay for!

### 1/5 — Great idea horribly executed

*2021-11-14, version 4.12*

Love the idea and I loved the various free rides…when they worked and when they were available. This is easily the most buggy and least reliable app I’ve ever installed. When it was free, I didn’t mind, but they trimmed back the free rides so much that it’s basically pointless and yet it still works so poorly (freezes, won’t connect or stay connected to your trainer, etc) that it’s hard to think paying is a good idea.

They need to make it work before moving the pay wall forward. If it worked, I’d definitely pay.

### 2/5 — No free lunch, almost no free rides

*2021-04-11, version 4.1*

Apps installed easily and worked on first try with no problems on iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPad Pro (gen 1). The promise of free rides is just a bait and switch though. Free rides have been trimmed back to only 2 and neither is much of a ride. Every other ride is now “Premium” meaning $$$. It’s not that I’m cheap (well I am a bit) but if an app is pushing free whatever the way that RGT is then I would expect t them to stand behind that. If you’re going to pay then go with Zwift.

### 1/5 — Zswift is just much better

*2021-03-30, version 4.1*

Have been using RGT as an alternative of Zswift for past 3 months. At the beginning, thought it was great, but now I’ll be going back to Zswift for the following reasons:

Magic road graphics are plain and repetitive. Doesn’t make you want to explore like Zswift does. Using ultra or medium mode slows down your PC (using MacBook Air).

Most of the time you are riding alone unlike Zswift which has a nice community feel.

RGT continues to limit free courses. This was the main benefit of using the app. As they continue to take away free courses, Zswift makes more sense to use.

Recommendations for RGT: invest in better graphics and provide better free courses. Otherwise folks will try your app and go back to Zswift like me!

### 1/5 — Wont Pair

*2021-03-16, version 4.0*

App will not pair with bike. Has no problem pairing with other cycling apps. Don’t waste your time

### 1/5 — Zswift is just much better

### 1/5 — Poor app - full of bugs

*2023-05-13*

Incredibly hard to use because the links, buttons, and font are way too small. Created events either don’t save or are impossible to find once created. The concept of this app is amazing! But whoever created the UI needs to put some more work into it. It hasn’t improved over the last 6 months either. I created an event and then missed it because I couldn’t find it!

### 1/5 — Unacceptably Bad

*2023-03-31*

I tried RGT because I thought Zwift was poorly done but this one is even worse. I have Wahoo hardware that I like a ton more than their competitors so I had some hope here too. The most frustrating part was that on tvOS my ride would get interrupted by the screensaver. Sometimes I simply could not figure out how to navigate to an item on the screen. For example, when I finished my ride I could not navigate away from the summary nor get it to upload to Strava, which I had already connected. I am an app developer myself so this is not coming from someone that doesn’t have a good understanding of technology.

### 1/5 — Bluetooth connections don’t work

*2022-12-22, version 5.9*

Sensors always fail to connect to Bluetooth after a minute or so, then the virtual rider stops until you turn Bluetooth off and on again, fails to connect after another minute, rinse and repeat ad infinitum.

Contacted support and supposedly they’re aware of the issue but no fix forthcoming.

### 1/5 — Literal trash

*2022-12-02, version 5.9*

This is the first app I’ve found that is capable of crashing my Apple TV. When it does work, the “free trial” popup takes up about 90% of the screen. It does not respond to the remote, because the remote navigates the main menu — behind the popup. That’s fine on a tablet where you can just tap to focus. But not on a TV. It’s so bad there isn’t even any way to start the trial! You’re just stuck on the popup. I guess Wahoo doesn’t support TVs. That puts it far behind everyone else.

### 1/5 — Can’t log in

*2022-11-21, version 5.8*

Can’t log in with my wahoo account on iPhone. :(

### 1/5 — Regular crashes in middle of workout

*2022-11-19, version 5.8*

This app crashes in 3/4 of the workouts I have done. Either just freezes up or looses network connection (while the iPhone is still reporting full internet connect and I am on stable high speed WiFi). When it freezes up and I restart at least the app asks if I want to continue the workout. But when it looses network the session is just gone. Going to try a few more times before returning the hardware and just going back a non smart trainer which at least always works.

### 1/5 — Can’t even login without crashing

*2022-11-13, version 5.8*

Try to auto fill my password and it immediately crashes. Even the tvOS app won’t let me dismiss a full screen banner saying “Beat your Best.” Literally unusable. Thank god this is free because charging for this would be criminal

(iPhone 12 Pro on iOS 16)

### 1/5 — This is

*2022-11-06, version 5.8*

not RGT

### 1/5 — No way to unsubscribe

*2022-05-03, version 5.4*

If you sign up online you cannot unsubscribe. Total scam!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works great so far!

*2022-11-09, version 5.8*

Just getting started on it after being away from my original Wahoo KICKR, impressed so far. Looking forward to its improvement and growth!

### 5/5 — Excellent customer support

*2021-12-21, version 5.2*

Switched from Zwift and had some early issues with connecting sensors. Mike with tech support immediately established one on one communications and got the issue corrected. Love the app.

### 5/5 — Ride anywhere in the world

*2021-11-30, version 5.1*

I love it. I can make a magic road of any outdoor route and ride it in RGT. This is the main feature that makes it so different from any other indoor cycling software; Great community and excellent events, on real roads.

### 5/5 — RGT Cycling is A+ the best indoor cycling experience.

*2021-10-25, version 4.12*

Started on RGT recently. So far I am VERY impressed. The ride feel and dynamics of the corner braking, draft and overall experience make this the closest indoor cycling to real life riding that I have ever done. RGT blows that one away other apps for realism. Plus they continually rollout new roads that are real! Very cool RGT!

### 5/5 — Great for indoor riding

*2021-03-02, version 4.0*

No frills indoor riding app. Racing is great. Realistic drafting as well as slowing into corners. Paid feature has some great workouts. If all you want to do is break up the monotony of riding indoors with no frills or gamification this is a great app.

### 5/5 — Best E-Racing Hands Down

*2020-12-18, version 3.6*

Draft feels real plus cornering makes it seems like irl. Great job.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2020-12-17, version 3.6*

More realistic than Zwift. Newer so work to be done but a great future if they keep it up.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2020-12-02, version 3.0*

Been on RGT for a little over a year now and love it. Started with the free version (which is robust in itself) and recently upgraded to premium. Really great community and platform with tons of workouts and races. Can’t wait to see what’s next!

### 5/5 — Fantastic Cycling Platform

*2020-11-29, version 3.0*

Before I tried RGT Cycling, I hated to ride indoors. With RGT, I am motivated to ride much longer and harder.

The free version is fully functional, except it lacks the ability to create courses and select certain RGT courses. However, there are many group rides and races that take place on a huge variety of courses.

There is a learning curve, so be patient.

### 5/5 — It’s Amazing!

*2020-04-29, version 2.31*

I use this app with my Schwinn IC4 Indoor Spin Bike and love it! It was a bit difficult to pair to the bike at first, but once I got over that hump, it’s been almost flawless. I’ve got to figure out how to set everything up, as my metrics feel a bit off. Also my MacBook Pro had a connection issue once mid ride. Still, this app motivates me to work harder, longer...plus it’s FREE!
