If you are still doing hand written checks, this is the app for you. We were skeptical at first. How could such an affordable app be this good we asked. We decided to give it a try and WOW! So easy to set up. Once you set up the first item, the rest are simple to copy and edit. It will even jump to another page to prompt staff to add modifiers (like temperature and other choices). The best part-most of the staff are carrying their own terminals! It is a free download for your staff to load the remote software and then while taking the order at the table, they are entering it rapid fast and it is at the kitchen and bar before they even leave the table! Got a question? Just send the developer your question and you get answers quickly. I have only just started working with waiter one and have found the app very easy to set up and the customer serves fantastic. All my questions have been answered within 24hrs and every answer spot on.. I look forward to many great updates of this app and I encourage anyone looking for a cost affective yet very functional POS for their small business to jump onto this app.. Great work guys!!!!! I sent several emails to WaiterOne support and each of my questions and problems were answered and solved promptly. I am presently using WaiterOne with an Apple Airport Extreme router and Airport Express network. I purchased the recommended Epson TM-T88 wireless printer with WaiterOne Remote running on several iPhones and iTouches. There have been a few bugs in the program but there are frequent updates which continue get the bugs out. An I found this. Fully customizable, works great, and truly a value add to my business. No annual subscriptions or pushy sales guys that dog the service industry. If you own you own business, this one is for you! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — New update is awful *2026-07-11* We have used WaiterOne for over 6 years. Been pleased with it in the past, until these current updates in the last month. They are awful. If a customer changes their order mid order, you can no longer swipe to delete or change the items. This makes it incredibly difficult, especially being in a tourist driven area. We have to resent the entire order and start again. Not ok. Why fix something that’s not broken? We are actively starting to switch to a new system. Very disappointed with the lack of care to rectify these on going issues. Updated again to the current V1.8.15, still awful, didn’t fix any of the issues. I will not be sad to get rid of this now that it is run this way. Sincerely a lost customer. **Developer response:** We're truly sorry for your recent experience, especially after you've been with WaiterOne for more than 6 years. We really appreciate your loyalty, which makes it even more disappointing to hear we've let you down. Version 1.8 was by far the biggest update we've ever released, introducing many new features and internal improvements. Unfortunately, that also allowed a few unexpected bugs to slip through. The issue you're describing with modifying items in an existing order turned out to be a particularly pesky one, and we understand how frustrating it is during a busy service, especially in a tourist-driven business. The good news is that we've identified the cause, and the fix is already included in our next update, which should be available very soon. We're genuinely sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and hope you'll give WaiterOne one more chance. Been waiting for well over a year to be able to use the app without problems. The latest update has made it worse than ever. Crashes all the time. Can't even cash I item. This app needs lots of work before it is useable. ### 3/5 — Not improved :-( *2012-06-18, version 1.0.12504* Although I purchased this app when it was first released, it has recently become slow when selecting the "accept money" button. I do not use the app to its full potential but I am still waiting for an Amount Tendered feature as it is sadly missing... Still. I am running a mobile bar so don't use either the 'tables' or the 'print' features. Sort out an amount tendered feature please and the slow response times and the review will improve. I would also recommend this to a number of other friends in the pub/bar business. ### 4/5 — Good and getting better *2013-11-30, version 1.2.1* Amazing for the price. I know several cafés using it every day with no problems. There are still some bugs and minor features missing, but Eddy is very responsive to emails with support and looks like new features and fixes coming all the time. It does take a bit of work from the user to set up especially for printers etc, but it's not complicated and beats paying hundreds and hundreds to have a salesperson from revel do a half arsed job for you... ### 4/5 — Great register *2012-03-09* I purchased this app to run a concession stand. My requirements are simple but as a previous restaurant owner I feel this would be a great app for a restaurant . We chose Waiterone, regardless of price. It works for our medium size resort in Belize. Support has been quick and thorough, they even accessed our system remotely to set up a printer we were having trouble with. At $48 it is an amazing value, we will be adding the remote apps and the kitchen display apps soon. ### 5/5 — Great app *2015-05-24* We used this app to replace a subscription service. It took a few weeks to get everything transferred over and to ensure that it did what we want, but now that we are on it we are very happy. The app writer was very helpful and quick to respond to support requests. Receipt printing is instant. I use the Epson TM88V which works flawlessly. I can create new PLUs in 30 seconds and the flexibility in button placement is brilliant. Easy to use export of daily totals and a quick switch into graphs comparing previous days. It's intuitive for my staff and for small businesses I think it's unbeatable.
