## What is WaitWhat?

WaitWhat helps you break the loop of opening apps on autopilot.

Instead of relying on willpower alone, WaitWhat adds a small moment between impulse and action. When you try to open a distracting app, you get a chance to pause, reflect, and decide more intentionally.

Whether you want to reduce doomscrolling, stay focused during work, or simply feel more in control of your screen habits, WaitWhat helps you slow the moment down.

With WaitWhat, you can:
- Add a mindful pause before opening selected apps
- Block distracting apps and websites
- Set focus schedules for times when you want stronger boundaries
- Use stricter modes to make impulsive openings less automatic
- Track saved time, resisted impulses, and daily patterns
- Unlock achievements as you build healthier habits

Premium includes:
- Website blocking
- Focus schedules
- Strict mode
- Dark mode
- Extended insights and history
- Full achievement collection
- Unlimited protected items

WaitWhat is built for people who do not want a harsh blocker, but something more intentional: a tool that helps you notice the reflex before it takes over.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-05-24

A clearer, stronger protection flow for the moments that matter
This update makes WaitWhat easier to understand, faster to set up, and stronger when you need real focus.

The redesigned Protection tab now starts with a guided setup before anything can run. You choose how long the pause before opening should be, whether extra delay should apply, and how short the opening window should stay. After setup, the screen stays focused on what matters: the active rules, what is protected, and where to adjust apps, profiles, or schedules.

Premium now includes Strict Protection for the moments when normal friction is not enough. Start a hard focus block with a timer and decide in advance how it may end early. Choose between PIN, waiting, charging only, extra delay, or no bypass until the timer ends.

Setup is smarter too. Focus profiles and templates like Deep Work, Study, Bedtime, and Weekend make it easier to pick the right protection for your day. Quick Focus is faster to start, including widget support. And the new Weekly Recap gives you a short Sunday summary of saved time, strongest days, streak, and common reasons.

The dashboard has also been simplified. Instead of showing too many info cards, WaitWhat now makes the next step clearer: set up protection, choose protected apps, start Quick Focus, or open protection settings.

In short: less guesswork, more control, and protection that fits real everyday situations.

### 1.1 — 2026-04-30

Thanks for using WaitWhat. This update is designed to help you make better choices faster, especially in the moments when you would normally open the next app on autopilot.

New in this update:

- The new Premium widget lets you start a focus session right from your Home Screen
- Quickly choose 15, 30, or 60 minutes when you do not want to be distracted
- It is now easier to see which focus profile is currently active
- The widget looks better in both light and dark mode
- Small improvements make WaitWhat feel calmer and smoother in everyday use

As always: a short pause can be enough to stop autopilot from taking over.
