What's New in Wake

Each recording, in its own space. • Every recording in WAKES is its own card: its spectrum behind the wave, and under it when it was made, how long it is, how many wakes (and the longest and shortest), the clock it ran across, what it sounded like, where, and its seal. • The ICLOUD line says what it's doing while it checks — files seen, whether they're all here, what the library weighs in iCloud — and counts down to UP TO DATE instead of sweeping. WAITING says how long nothing has moved. • No more borders: panels, wells and controls read by tone and space. Finlandica everywhere but the wordmark. • Nothing pops in or out any more: the captions pane, the session well and the control well are always there, and things land in them. Make the display taller and the captions pane gives it the room. • In SPLITS the rail's buttons stay put — SELECT relabels them in place — and a tapped wake's facts land in a well under the list instead of pushing the strips down. • The export dialog says a too-long selection in LENGTH itself, and keeps one NOTE line for what the last export did. • The library comes back scrolled to where you were, and every IMPORT folder has a line saying what its scan is doing. • The display's resize grip tracks your finger one to one — and so does the spectrograph's grip inside a wake. • With QUICK CAPTURE off, the Action Button asks to open Wake and starts recording once it's on screen; the Control Center toggle springs back instead of showing a recording that isn't happening. • With the microphone off, Wake says MIC OFF and RECORD won't arm. Picking a recording back up can't lose it any more. If something takes the mic mid-session, Wake says so — a red STOPPED tab and a notification with a sound. • → WALL is gone — the members wall closed.
