## What is Wakes?

* Find Nearby Lakes:
Use your location to discover lakes near you. Wakes highlights lakes within your search radius and shows
key details at a glance, including name, distance, mapped routes, and media.
* Interactive Routes:
View real paddle routes mapped directly onto each lake using GPX data. Routes include distance estimates,
estimated travel time, and are visualized on an interactive map — ideal for planning a paddling or fishing
session.
* Virtual Lake Tours:
Experience the water before you go. Wakes offers synchronized first-person video tours of selected
routes, so you can preview the scenery and assess the experience in advance. As the video plays, a marker
moves along the mapped route for real-time visual context.
* Parking & Directions:
Lakes include designated parking locations, with one-tap access to get driving directions via Apple Maps
or Google Maps. No more guessing where to launch — just tap and go.
* Live Position Tracking:
Your current location is shown on the map, helping you orient yourself in real-time while exploring new or
unfamiliar lakes.
* Depth Maps Integration:
Curious about water depth or underwater terrain? Need to know where to drop anchor? Tap “View Depth
Map” to open a lake-specific nautical chart, seamlessly embedded within the app.
