Why do I have to wait weeks to be approved for a checking account? There is nothing on Walden’s web site that explains this process or says how long it will take or what the approval decision is based on. It’s just a checking account, not a mortgage; why am I waiting weeks for approval? If I had known this was going to happen I would not have opened an account with them. ### 3/5 — Good service. Avg products *2025-07-09* Walden Mutual has great service from US based employees who answer quickly and efficiently. However, I have been a customer since the beginning and they have not made a lot of feature enhancements since opening. Still no Apple Pay for debit cards. Their rates don't really match other online only banks. And they recently took away my favorite feature of having one main account in favor of having traditional checking/savings split accounts with no interest on the checking. Their support team is very responsive and eager to help, they have a mission that tangibly helps the community and they clearly communicate how they support it, and their app is impressively developed considering that they are a newer and smaller bank.
