## What is WalkBlock?

Welcome to WalkBlock, your guide to a healthier, calmer relationship with your phone. Whether you are trying to reduce screen time, beat brain rot, or simply feel more present in your day, WalkBlock is here to help. One step at a time.

Here is how it works. You pick the apps that pull you in: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, Snapchat and WalkBlock gently blocks them until you hit your daily step goal. Walk your steps, unlock your apps. It is that simple. No harsh restrictions. No guilt. Just a small, healthy deal you make with yourself every single day.
Most people spend five to six hours on their phones without really choosing to. WalkBlock does not judge that. It just gives your body something to do first. And when you start moving, something shifts. You feel clearer. More present. Like your day belongs to you again.

WALK TO UNLOCK
Transform your screen time into step time. Choose any app or category to block: Social Media, Games, Entertainment — and set a daily step goal that feels right for you, anywhere from 3,000 to 15,000 steps or more. The moment you hit it, everything unlocks automatically. No reminders. No willpower. Just the quiet satisfaction of earning your time.
WalkBlock users walk an average of 2,000 more steps per day. Steps that make digital detox feel effortless. Steps toward better focus, better sleep, and a phone that finally feels like a tool again, not a trap.

BLOCK SOCIAL MEDIA. EARN IT BACK.
WalkBlock is a social media blocker that rewards movement. Block individual apps or entire categories and set your own rules. Use it as a dopamine detox, a doomscrolling cure, or simply a way to build healthier daily habits around your phone. However you use it, the result is the same, less mindless scrolling, more time doing the things that actually matter.
Unlike other screen time apps that rely on willpower alone, WalkBlock gives your body a job to do. Your steps are the key. Walk more, unlock more. It is the only app blocker free of complicated setups and hard-to-break habits that does not ask you to resist your phone, it asks you to move instead.

WHY YOUR SCREEN TIME IS HOLDING YOU BACK
The average attention span on a digital screen is now just 47 seconds. High screen use is linked to a 61% higher chance of feeling anxious and a 45% higher chance of feeling low. Blue light at night disrupts your deep sleep, leaving you slower and foggier the next day. Every step you take with WalkBlock is a step toward reversing all of that. And it happens automatically.

BUILD A HABIT THAT LASTS
Small steps become big changes. WalkBlock keeps you motivated with streak tracking, a visual weekly calendar, and over 30+ achievements across six rarity tiers — common, uncommon, rare, super rare, athlete, and legendary. Watch your progress build week by week.
Detailed statistics show your step history, goal achievement rates, and activity trends over time. Watch your screen time fall as your step count rises.

DESIGNED AROUND YOUR HEALTH
WalkBlock integrates with Apple HealthKit, tracking your steps automatically with no manual input. Blocks and unlocks happen in real time as your step count grows. Set your goal once and let WalkBlock take care of the rest.

COMPLETELY PRIVATE
Everything in WalkBlock stays on your device. We use Apple HealthKit and the Screen Time API to track your steps and manage your apps. Your data never leaves your phone. No account required. No cloud storage. We never collect, store, or transmit your information.

Download WalkBlock today and take your first step toward a calmer, more present life.

### 5/5 — Personal experience

*2026-08-09, version 2.1.2*

Great app, gets me out of bed and helps me take my step and kind of sets the momentum for the day. Ngl, best app to get your life back together one step at a time!

### 5/5 — Stellar.

*2026-07-23, version 2.1.1*

I love this app and concept. I’ve wanted to cut my phone usage and get more steps in… genuinely the perfect concept.

### 5/5 — An app that really helps

*2026-06-26, version 2.0.2*

I like that this app is a guide towards my desired behavior not a hard block. I can still unlock it if I have to, but there is enough resistance that I don’t do it willy nilly. Great app.

### 5/5 — Happy

*2026-06-18, version 2.0.1*

This a great app to hold yourself accountable and make sure you get your steps in!

### 5/5 — Just What I Needed

*2026-06-12, version 1.9.0*

I’ve been pretty sedentary lately and doom scrolling on my phone, a lot more than I’d like to admit. To the point where I’ve been slowly developing a shopping addiction. I’ve been struggling to stay off of shopping apps. This app helps me lock my shopping apps keeping me off of them for most of the day and re-locking them at midnight. This motivates me to get some steps in to unlock the apps. Funny enough because I’m feeling so good about getting my steps in my desire to shop isn’t as intense. This app has been a huge help to me and I’m glad I got it.

### 1/5 — Great concept at a cost

*2026-06-11, version 1.9.0*

I’m really disappointed this costs money. I was so excited and was looking forward to setting up this app for my weight loss journey but the second i saw it costs money i deleted it. Sad.

### 5/5 — Good App

*2026-06-10, version 1.9.0*

Had some weird issues—likely just app updates and such—but it works now.

### 5/5 — Must-have app

*2026-06-08, version 1.9.0*

Great concept!

Flawless execution!

Recommend 100%. I’m going to gift this app to my loved ones!

### 5/5 — Just what I needed

*2026-06-08, version 1.9.0*

Life happened last year and I went from moderately active to bump-on-a-log, and once I lost the momentum it has been a slog trying to get back to it. I’ve tried everything: gamifying, incentivizing, withholding, competition (non-monetary), gold stars… The problem with all of these forms is it was based on self-control.

Literally just yesterday I was searching for another gamifying app to motivate me, but I’d either tried them all or they didn’t look interesting. Today I saw this mentioned on Reddit and boom! Day 1 and I’ve already hit my goal and then some. It takes my fledgling self-control out of the equation and forces a choice - to get up and move or sit with an expensive brick in my hand. Instead of feeling defeated because I gave in AGAIN while I loaf, I’m feeling energized and in control.

The UI is clean. The instructions were clear. Integration with Apple Health is quick. If I could squeak in a future enhancement ask, it would be to allow other tech to naturally integrate, but I’m savvy enough with the workarounds I’ve got to do (I’m actually a Garmin user).

I am so impressed. Brilliant idea, team!

### 5/5 — I don’t know how I could live without this!

*2026-06-08, version 1.9.0*

This has been the best thing to ever come into my life. The ui is clean and crisp and so easy to look at, the features do exactly what they should and now I finally am able to make a serious change for the better. With other apps I would bypass the blocking or just eventually delete the apps and still be on the couch on Facebook with nothing better to do. This actually motivates me to do better, get healthier and calm my mind to not be so ingrained into social media. It’s like a breath of fresh air. Thank you so much for making this!!
