About

Walkie is a keyboard that turns your voice into text — in any app. And now it reads to you, too. Tap to dictate, speak naturally, and Walkie types what you said right where your cursor is: Messages, email, notes, Slack, search bars, anywhere you'd normally type. No copy-paste, no switching apps. WHY WALKIE - Works everywhere — it's a keyboard, so it goes wherever you type - Fast, accurate transcription that keeps up with how you actually talk - Talk as long as you want; tap done when you're finished - A real keyboard for typing too, with autocorrect that learns your words - Your words, your way READ ALOUD - Turn anything into audio: paste text, open a PDF, or share an article straight to Walkie - 950+ natural voices — search by name, language, or country - Follow along with word-by-word highlighting, or just listen - Recent reads are saved so you can pick up where you left off MAKE IT YOURS - Dictionary — teach Walkie names, brands, and terms so they come out right - Snippets — say a short trigger, get a full phrase (addresses, sign-offs, more) - Text styles — Formal, Casual, or Very casual (no caps, no punctuation) - Everything syncs across your devices when you sign in PRIVATE BY DESIGN - Your audio is used to transcribe and is never stored or used to train models - Delete your account and all your data anytime, right from the app Set up takes a minute: add the Walkie keyboard in Settings, enable Full Access (required so the keyboard can transcribe in the cloud), and start talking. What's New in Walkie

1.1.0

August 14, 2026

Read Aloud round 3, plus a big pass on the keyboard. • 950+ voices with illustrated avatars, searchable by name, language, or country ("french", "hindi", "mexico"). Pick your voice right on the Read tab. • Large PDFs no longer freeze the app — import shows progress, huge documents open instantly, and word highlighting stays smooth all the way through. • Playback no longer pauses mid-sentence between sections. • Switching voices keeps the picker open until the new voice is ready, then starts speaking immediately. • Swipe left on a recent read to delete it (with confirmation). • Clear notices when your connection is too slow to generate audio, with a retry. Keyboard: • Short words are left alone. Typing "Hy" no longer turns into "By", and two- and three-letter words stop getting swapped for something you didn't type. • Fast typing no longer eats spaces, so "Hey man" stays two words. • Haptics now follow your pace — lighter and sharper as you get into flow, fuller on a deliberate press. • Passwords and one-time codes are never corrected, learned, or logged. • Key sizes and spacing tuned to match the system keyboard. Home: • Your history is grouped by day and no longer stops at 100 entries — everything you've dictated is there. • Tap any transcription to read the whole thing, copy it, or delete it. Read-aloud entries open straight in the reader. • Faster scrolling, even with thousands of entries. • Dark mode, in Settings → Appearance.
