Pick your voice right on the Read tab. • Large PDFs no longer freeze the app — import shows progress, huge documents open instantly, and word highlighting stays smooth all the way through. • Playback no longer pauses mid-sentence between sections. • Switching voices keeps the picker open until the new voice is ready, then starts speaking immediately. • Swipe left on a recent read to delete it (with confirmation). • Clear notices when your connection is too slow to generate audio, with a retry. Keyboard: • Short words are left alone. Typing "Hy" no longer turns into "By", and two- and three-letter words stop getting swapped for something you didn't type. • Fast typing no longer eats spaces, so "Hey man" stays two words. • Haptics now follow your pace — lighter and sharper as you get into flow, fuller on a deliberate press. • Passwords and one-time codes are never corrected, learned, or logged. • Key sizes and spacing tuned to match the system keyboard. Home: • Your history is grouped by day and no longer stops at 100 entries — everything you've dictated is there. • Tap any transcription to read the whole thing, copy it, or delete it. Read-aloud entries open straight in the reader. • Faster scrolling, even with thousands of entries. • Dark mode, in Settings → Appearance. ### 1.0.9 — 2026-08-01 Read Aloud round 2: PDF support (open PDFs from the File tile — text is extracted and read aloud), the reader highlight now hugs each word precisely, the READ tab indicator is properly centered, and the keyboard Listen key is removed (use the Read tab, share sheet, or Android text-selection menu). ### 1.0.8 — 2026-07-24 Very casual means very casual If your style is set to Very casual, dictation now comes out fully lowercase — every time. AI polish still cleans up your words and fixes sentences; it just never capitalizes them anymore. Hold to delete, with momentum Holding backspace now feels like the system keyboard: it starts deleting the instant you touch, picks up speed as you hold, and shifts to whole words on a long hold — with a little tick for every deletion. Single taps are instant now too. No more surprise capitals Fixed words like "you" and "on" getting capitalized in the middle of a sentence. Names from your contacts still get their proper capitals — everyday words are left alone. Editing mid-sentence — Fixed the keyboard capitalizing the next word after you move the cursor; typing "at 7pm" into the middle of a sentence stays lowercase. Names, capitalized properly — Weekdays, months, and names get their capitals, and "hey matt" greets Matt properly. ### 1.0.6 — 2026-07-21 What's new in Walkie 1.0.6 Your words always show up now. Some of you dictated into apps like WhatsApp or Slack and watched… nothing appear. The transcription worked — it just never made it into the text box. That's fixed. Walkie now double-checks that every dictation actually landed where you were typing. And in the rare case an app still refuses it, your words show up as a small button right above the keyboard — one tap and they're in. "10 seconds" stays "10 seconds." Walkie sometimes got a little too clever and turned durations into times of day — you'd say "give me 10 seconds" and get "give me 10am." Fixed.
