## What is Walkingo?

Walkingo turns Apple Health walking and hiking workouts into a calm, local-first home for routes, progress, and outdoor momentum.

Use Walkingo to:

- open Dashboard for a clear briefing on your goals, streaks, recent activity, and familiar routes
- browse Walks and Hikes with search, filters, route thumbnails, and fast drill-in to activity detail
- revisit each activity with maps, elevation, pace, conditions, notes, tags, ratings, and matching photos or videos
- follow weekly, monthly, yearly, walk-count, elevation, and duration goals
- spot patterns across days, hours, distances, durations, effort, and elevation
- read weekly and monthly recaps that reflect your goals and walking rhythm
- keep progress visible with home screen and lock screen widgets
- support development with an optional tip jar

Walkingo works directly with Apple Health and keeps the core experience local-first. No account is required, and the app does not depend on an external backend.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.9.4 — 2026-06-15

Walkingo 2.9 turns your recaps into outdoor memories you can open.

- Tap any recap story — a favorite walk, a place you returned to, the week's photo — and Walkingo opens the activities behind it.
- Your places show up in the story: "You came back to Retiro this week" or "the river path was your most-visited place this month."
- A photo from the week can headline a memory, with a real thumbnail right in the recap.
- Walkingo's recap speaks its own language: it leads with time outside and your outdoor rhythm, not distance.
- Time outside and familiar places, never step-count pressure.

### 2.8 — 2026-06-03

Walkingo 2.8 notices a specific next step, gently.

- When a familiar place would help finish a goal, the goal now names it — like "Retiro could round this out."
- A gentle nudge can notice when a place from your outdoor rhythm has gone quiet, with no guilt or streaks.
- Opt in to goal notifications and a single calm reminder can point out when a place you have named would complete a goal.
- Time outside and familiar places, never step-count pressure.
