### 2/5 — Update lacking

*2026-05-31, version 11.0.10*

There appears to be no place in the app or online to control the number of emails that are sent to you. I would like to restrict the number of emails (as I did before) but can’t.

### 3/5 — Used to be better

*2026-04-11, version 11.0.1*

Before the update, I would get notified where I was throughout the day, not anymore. My steps will not sync unless I do it manually. I also don’t like that our “program admin” has to place us in our groups. I appreciate the app for the motivation and friendly competition, just not a fan of the update.

### 3/5 — Apple Health sync issue

*2026-03-17, version 10.0.44*

I had issues with syncing with Apple Health. Even with support team assistance the issue was not resolved.

### 3/5 — Annoying in so many ways

*2025-09-28, version 10.0.43*

I lift and do the stair master in the gym. I spend 2-3 hours on the weekends in the gym but I can’t log my full workouts because “it’s not fair” and there’s no limit on tracking devices. I track my workouts on my Apple Watch and it doesn’t transfer to the app. It’s not fair that I do the work and can’t log it!
Navigating is also horrible. I can’t bookmark my company so I have to search then I see my progress vs my colleagues there. I can’t see my history so I’m not sure if I have entered all of my workouts.
So many opportunities for improvement.

### 3/5 — Missing steps

*2025-05-25, version 10.0.37*

Everything started really well with this app. I go to the same park and do the same rounds, yet lately the step counts are less than all the other times. It’s very discouraging. Especially when trying to meet challenges.

### 4/5 — Suddenly it doesn’t work

*2025-04-19, version 10.0.33*

Used to work great, but all of a sudden since yesterday first i couldn’t log in and now it won’t open. I also tried to get app support but i received a message saying that the page doesn’t exist .
I’m not sure where i can go to find out how to fix it.

### 1/5 — Crashes when opening

*2024-12-21, version 10.0.25*

Crashes when opening on iPhone 12 Mini

### 1/5 — Ugh, how awful.

*2024-12-19*

You know, probably would have given this app a 3-star review, or just not reviewed it at all because while it works fine enough (though the steps total often deviates from steps on phone, that’s weird.), today I got a full on push notification begging for a 5-star review on the App Store. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! How horribly insulting and invasive of an app to misuse notifications for such self serving needs.

IF YOUR APP DOESN’T GET ENOUGH 5-STAR REVIEWS ON ITS OWN, YOU SHOULD PROBABLY LOOK INWARD TO FIGURE OUT WHY NOT…you should NEVER use pop ups to beg for reviews, ESPECIALLY when a user has “in-app reviews” turned off in settings to avoid such things. I will now be actively working on getting a new vendor at my company to replace this awful app.

Text of the pop up “If you enjoy using Walkingspree, would you mind taking a moment to give us a 5 star rating in the App Store? It will only take a minute. Th...”

**Developer response:** At times, the Apple Health app may reduce the step totals after initially reporting them. This adjustment can happen either within minutes or hours and is due to a few reasons:

The Health app on your iPhone collects data from various sources, such as your iPhone and Apple Watch.

To prevent double-counting steps from different devices during overlapping time periods, the app automatically recalculates and adjusts the totals.

### 1/5 — Unreliable and terrible sync functionality

*2024-12-13, version 10.0.25*

Installed it for a company health challenge competition and does not accurately display steps recorded by Apple, rolls back the number of steps few times a day, and has issues updating. If you are in competition you cannot rely on the this app to accurately reflect your place. Absolutely awful and frustrating.

### 2/5 — Difficult to sync with Apple Health

*2024-11-21, version 10.0.22*

Use WalkingSpree through my employer to receive health insurance discounts. I use an Apple Watch to record steps, etc. the sync function is poor and inconsistent, not tracking all my activity for my health insurance. Frustrating.

### 2/5 — New UI is a downgrade

*2024-11-15, version 10.0.22*

App was just okay before the update. Now it’s substantially worse. My coworkers/teams/challenges are now much harder to see where I rank. The challenges page used to have rank available which was very important to me. The new ui just has a map and it’s really challenging to see rank for everyone near you when they’re pucks moving on a jpeg.

I’m not struggling with syncing like many others, but I wish when I opened the app I had more information available rather than having to scroll or change pages to find it.

### 1/5 — It does 1 thing. Badly.

*2024-10-30, version 10.0.21*

It is astoundingly slow to pull steps from Apple Health, if it even manages do it. This is a function countless apps do instantly. Embarrassing.

### 2/5 — Montly point not updating in latest version

*2024-09-29, version 10.0.19*

Same count for monthly point it not updating in latest version of app.

### 1/5 — Bloated

*2024-09-29, version 10.0.19*

Less is more. Get rid of all unnecessary junk you added.

### 1/5 — App Help Screens DO NOT look like the version on App Store

*2024-08-24, version 10.0.13*

This is very frustrating! I go to get help and the screens shown are COMPLETELY different than the ones I have in my app. There’s no way to manually add in steps like it says you can do on the “Help” section of the website. Please fix this! Please allow us to manually add in steps when you can’t get your watch to sync.

### 2/5 — Wyoming

*2024-07-29, version 10.0.9*

Needs to be more intuitive. Connect/link the points to what we need to do. The maps for challenge was great but had not context. Maybe I’m expecting too much but there are little pieces that could connect dots better. Overall it’s clunky and lacks flow from task to task.

### 3/5 — Enough with the required updates

*2024-07-21, version 10.0.9*

My employer switched to this app for the steps wellness program. The app works fine for what it is, but I’m getting sick of opening the app to sync my steps only for the app to lock me out until I compete the update. Can you please just let people use the app and update it on their own time?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Boooo

*2026-05-12, version 11.0.8*

Wish my company would go back to another app. Walkingspree sucks and never works

### 1/5 — App Sucks

*2026-04-15, version 11.0.3*

Fails to sync with Apple Health and login to reset takes 24 hours or more. Help function is worthless.

### 1/5 — Not sure who lives good reviews

*2026-04-14, version 11.0.3*

App stop sync with Fitbit no matter how many times during the day you can try. Newest design is titl fail. They sync steps for the challenges manually day after day.

### 1/5 — Latest update doesn’t work

*2026-04-02, version 11.0.0*

I just updated the Walkingspree app to it’s latest version and nothing works. It won’t show my daily steps and my record is showing fewer 10k steps than I had. Looks like a lot of information was lost, and the interface is non responsive. Complete mess. I might have to remove the app.

### 1/5 — Upgrade to version 11 broke all connections

*2026-04-02, version 11.0.0*

Horrible update. Step screen is now tiny and hard to see. Don’t Update!

### 1/5 — Forced to use, wish I could delete

*2025-11-03, version 10.0.44*

Clunky, doesn’t update well, I don’t know why myhealthcheck got roped into using this program but sheesh there’s got to be something better

### 1/5 — Walking Spree

*2025-10-25, version 10.0.44*

Yes, I concur this app is terrible. It doesn’t tell you of your progress. You can’t find anything they hide the reimbursement window in the mobile app and it took forever to find it on the website. Then after I fill out my reimbursement all of a sudden I see every day. The app design is absolutely terrible.

### 1/5 — do not recommend

*2025-06-13, version 10.0.40*

app is constantly crashing and disconnecting from apple health. does not sync accurately, my apple watch/apple health will say i have 9k steps and the app will only give me credit for 6K. my employer relies on the app for our fitness stipend so when it didn’t sync correctly i miss out on the stipend.

### 1/5 — Clunky, missing challenge data, terrible navigation.

*2025-06-09, version 10.0.39*

This app is terrible compared to other trackers. You can’t see challenge progress within an event. You click on challenges and it just shows them. You can’t see anything as to the challenge tasks or your progress. For example; we have a current challenge with 21 days left, but nowhere can I even click on the challenge to find the tasks and progress of myself or anyone else. I can’t even see who’s in the challenge. So if you plan to do challenges I would not choose this app.

### 1/5 — Horrible. App doesn’t load

*2025-04-19, version 10.0.33*

App doesn’t load and crashes often. I do NOT recommend.

### 5/5 — Great Customer Service

*2022-03-25, version 8.1.1*

The one time I had an issue with the app, I wrote them an email with the problem I was having. Their team contacted me that same day and resolved my issue the following day. I was very impressed with their level of professionalism and wish others had the same customer service.

### 5/5 — Enjoy

*2021-12-01, version 7.1.0*

Very easy to use

### 5/5 — Great App

*2021-11-22, version 7.0.0*

I use this app with work. It is easy to use and fun to see the friendly competition between all of my coworkers.
I like that I can see my ranking anytime and can push a bit harder to stay in the top 20!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2021-07-05, version 6.2.0*

My work does challenges in this app quarterly, and this has really helped motivate me to be more active. It’s super helpful to track steps and see my averages and everything. Only “complaint” is that sometimes it takes a long time/hangs while syncing steps.
