### 5/5 — Great Walking cheerleader

*2026-09-26, version 12.1.56*

I have used Walkmeter for several years, walking, cycling, hiking, tramping. Love it. Gives great info on accomplishment and performance. Find it very useful.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2026-09-22, version 12.1.56*

GPS stays in touch. Great on the road. Like the history and paces help motivate my runs. I especially like the way it distinguishes between walking or running and stopping.

### 5/5 — Great App for Walkers

*2026-09-13, version 12.1.55*

I have used Walkmeter for many years after trying a few others.
For my walking record purposes, Walkmeter has every thing I need and exports links I need for Google Maps and Google Earth

### 5/5 — Love Walkmeter!

*2026-09-07*

Love to see the map when walk is finished!!😃😃😃

**Developer response:** Thank you! It's always fun to look back at the map after a good walk! 😃

### 2/5 — Inconsistency

*2026-08-25*

The distance tracking is extremely inconsistent and makes the app difficult to trust. I can walk the exact same route on the same trail and get significantly different mileage readings.

For example, today I walked one direction on the trail and the app recorded 0.93 miles. I ended the session, started a new one, and walked the same exact trail back in the opposite direction. This time it recorded 1.19 miles.

That’s a 0.26-mile difference on what should be the same distance, which is significant for a walk of only about a mile. This also throws off the pace and calorie metrics because they’re being calculated from an inaccurate distance.

This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed it either. I can walk the same route on different days and consistently get different distance readings.

I really want to like this app, but accurate GPS distance tracking is one of the most basic and important functions of a walking app. If I can’t trust the mileage, I can’t trust the rest of the workout data either. Please improve the GPS tracking and distance calculations.

**Developer response:** Sorry you're running into tracking issues. The GPS readings we use come directly from your iPhone and can be affected by your surroundings and environmental conditions. Please contact us at support@abvio.com so we can review your data and offer advice on improving your results.

### 5/5 — Torrey Pines

*2026-08-19, version 12.1.54*

Good hike today 6.5 miles
App used to be better with less clutter but overall really accurate.

### 5/5 — Why all the pestering?

*2026-08-16*

Yes I love this app. 5 stars. Use it every day. Even with the recent price increase it’s great. But WHY is it now asking me to rate it on the App Store so frequently? I can hardly tap in the app without the annoying “enjoying this app” thing coming up! Yes I love you, WalkMeter, but right now, no, I am not enjoying using you!!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the 5 stars and for using Walkmeter every day! Sorry about the repeated rating prompts. They only appear for a limited time and should go away soon.

### 1/5 — Can’t bring up cycling any more.

*2026-08-04, version 12.1.54*

All I get is walking. This happened through nothing I did.

### 2/5 — Clunky and draining

*2026-08-01, version 12.1.54*

I have used this app for years so I need my history. Very difficult to find and turn notices/announcements on and off. OK if keep those the same. Battery drain too high for longer hikes.

### 5/5 — Great app! Tip: more voices available via iPhone settings.

*2026-07-31, version 12.1.54*

Awesome app, love it! ❤️👍

I didn’t like the announcement voices and the developer informed me that the voices are provided by Apple. You can add additional voices via the iPhone Accessibility/Read & Speak/Voices. Once you download additional voices they will automatically be made available in the Walkmeter app.

Thank you developer for replying directly to me regarding the voices, and thank you for creating a fantastic app! 😁

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 12.1.60 — 2026-10-27

This update includes many smaller quality improvements. Thanks so much for your feedback and support!

### 12.1.59 — 2026-10-17

This 12.1.59 update includes some quick fixes, as well as the following features released in 12.1.57.

IPHONE

Live Activities. Your workout now shows on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, so your stats are a glance away without unlocking your iPhone. It's on by default.

A smarter Pedometer. The Pedometer page now pulls your step totals from Apple Health, combining steps from your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods Pro 3, and it now reflects your complete step history. It also opens much faster. The first time you open it, Walkmeter reads all of your history, so give it a moment.

One light or dark appearance for the whole app. Appearance is now in More > Settings as well as in Stopwatch Settings, and it now controls the look of the entire app, not just the Stopwatch.

Finer control over sensors. A new Sensor Interval setting on the Devices page lets you record sensor data every second instead of the automatic interval. You can also turn off the Low Battery Alert for an individual sensor in its settings.

Leaner FIT files. FIT import and export have been largely rewritten, and exported FIT files are now about 75% smaller.

Friends sharing and posting are now Elite features. If you already use them, you keep them.

APPLE WATCH

A rebuilt Apple Watch app. We rewrote the Apple Watch app from the ground up. Text now sizes itself to fit every Apple Watch, and your route or activity appears on the main pages. You can turn that off in Settings. When settings arrive from your iPhone, the watch shows a brief progress indicator until the transfer finishes. Because so much is new, some things may look or behave differently. Tell us what you notice.

Siri on your wrist. Siri and App Intents now work fully in the Apple Watch app, with no setup required, just like on iPhone.

Smart Stack widget. Add the new Walkmeter widget to your Smart Stack to see it at a glance.

CYCLEMETER BIKE COMPUTER

Now works with Apple Watch, no iPhone required. Just be sure to use Record on Apple Watch mode. Note that watchOS allows at most two Bluetooth connections at a time.

Better maps. Color maps now show trails, the map displays your zoom level as you change it, and you'll see "No Internet" when you're offline.

BUG FIXES

Includes dozens of bug fixes across the app.

### 12.1.56 — 2026-09-21

Includes a few bug fixes and other improvements.

Turn-by-turn navigation is here.

Plan where you're going, then let Walkmeter guide you there. Drop points on a map, search for an address, or start from where you're standing, and Walkmeter finds the roads and paths between them for walking, running, cycling, or driving. You see distance, time, and elevation before you leave, you can switch between alternate routes, and one tap closes the loop to bring you home. Save it and you have a Navigation you can follow any time.

Every turn is spoken as you approach it and shown on screen — on your iPhone and on the Cyclemeter Bike Computer — while your workout records as usual. Leave the path and Walkmeter announces you're off course, reroutes, and lets you know when you're back on. Add your own Custom Cues for the things a map doesn't know: a water stop, a gate, the turn at the red barn.

Saving a Navigation also creates a route, so every workout you record along it is grouped and compared. Routes planned elsewhere work too — a TCX or FIT file from Ride with GPS or cycle.travel keeps its cues when you import it.
