Is my private information in this app safe!? **Developer response:** Your data is safe. That activity is from MoPub, currently a Twitter company that serves the ads in Wallet Guard if you haven’t removed them. This is how I keep the app free. It has no access to your data stored in Wallet Guard. Still, I will look into ways to mitigate this (like less ads or different provider). Thanks for the feedback. ### 4/5 — Needs updated *2020-02-04* I have an IPhone 11 and when I take a picture of a card it only gets half of it. You can adjust where you put the box in relationship to the card and make it work but it’s not smooth like it should be. **Developer response:** Version 11.2 has been submitted to Apple, it includes a new flow for cropping images and dark mode support. ### 5/5 — Fantastic App *2019-07-05* We use it to store a copy of all our cards and share them between phones. Brings up barcodes and photos of the cards quickly when you need them. I have both my sisters using it. It has been a savior when I forgot my ID at the doctor office. I feel safe knowing I have backups for everything important. It is easy to use and I love the photo capture. Fingerprint authentication is quicker and easier than having to remember a complex password to get into the app to retrieve my complex password. UPDATE: I take that back - touch id works great! I really appreciate the response. Keep up the good work! **Developer response:** Wallet Guard does support Touch ID to unlock it. This app does it all and it's free! How cool is that? ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Lost Cards *2025-10-03* I’ve used this app for years and now all of a sudden it started crashing every time I would click on a card. And now, all of my cards have vanished. LOST. GONE. VERY UNTRUSTWORTHY APP. I NO LONGER RECOMMEND. ### 1/5 — Useless after getting new phone *2025-04-03* I loved this app and relied on it heavily. I was using biometrics to get into it but when I got a new phone it appeared to have transferred over but now is locked and I can’t access any of my important info. I have contacted the developer multiple times and have not had any communication in return. I understand that the purpose of the app is to keep things secure but there is no way to reset. Beware. **Developer response:** I never received an email (not sure why, will look into it). But if you don’t remember your passcode I have no way to retrieve it. If you still have your old phone you can login with biometrics and reset your Passcode. Then backup to Dropbox. Delete and resetup Wallet Guard on your new phone with the new Passcode and restore backup. Sorry for the trouble. ### 1/5 — Trash *2024-02-16* I’ve had this app for years. Then one day, everything in it was gone. I no longer have the cards for some of the things. Thanks a lot!! ### 1/5 — Changed the rules regarding ads! When I bought it it was add free standalone. *2021-01-06* Changed deal after purchased! Don’t want to be held hostage to annual fee for a simple app. Just taking advantage of us. Better apps available for the price of one year fee. ### 1/5 — Adds *2019-02-01* I paid full price for the app when it originally came out specifically so I would not have to see the adds. They then changed their policy and charge you by the year to remove the adds. If I had known this, I would never have purchased the app. This is not the app I paid for. But for this slimy deception, it is a good app. **Developer response:** Version 11.1 has code to prevent showing ads for old customers. ### 1/5 — Don’t update *2018-09-05, version 9.10* I guess I made a mistake by updating this app. I had an older version with NO ads. I’m NOT PAYING for a subscription. There are too many free apps that do the same thing. DELETE. ### 1/5 — I’m not paying for this app! *2018-01-19* I guess I have an older version without ads. No way I’m updating just to pay 6 bucks a year. I’ll switch apps first. Too many other free or one time purchase apps that are just as good or better. And this app doesn’t automatically sync with your other iDevices. Definitely not worth a yearly subscription. Verified that version 8 does not have ads showing on my iPad. But the updated version 9 on my iPhone does show ads. While I understand app creators are here to make money but this app just doesn’t have what it takes for an expensive yearly subscription rate. **Developer response:** I’m sorry you feel this way. Wallet Guard remains free and you do not have to purchase the subscription to enjoy full functionality of the app. However, by purchasing a subscription you not only remove ads, but also help to support the development and maintenance of the app. ### 1/5 — Wallet Guard v. 9.4 *2018-01-17, version 9.4* This version has a yearly subscription required to remove advertisements it is unacceptable to change a paid App. in this way by updating the App. I have therefore stopped using the App. ### 1/5 — It's a piece of crap! *2017-01-05, version 7.1* I downloaded this app after seeing it on ozbargain. Instead of carrying all of my cards in my wallet, I have them accessible right on my phone!! Love it!! But recently when I have tried to add a new card, and take a photo, all I get is a dark screen, wondering if this app needs updated or is something wrong with my camera settings? I like that I can manually take a picture of my cards. I’ve had problems with the apps that are supposed to automatically take pictures that don’t. I also like that I actually have a picture of the card to show if I’ve left my card at home. It’s so easy to open the app and see all my cards in alphabetical order. Wish you had an Android version. Combine this app with apple wallet and all you have is paper dollars. I chose not to put Credit Cards in it. I put them in apple pay wallet. there’s a bit of a learning curve, at least for me the was to how to arrange the cards in the wallet. the neat thing is you can actually put 3 Cards in each slot. So for example Medicare card, front of Insurance, back of insurance card. fit in a slot. You get to file the by category. which is something i’ve always tried to do in my own wallet. Now i can just use my $ Clip. 💳📲 ### 5/5 — Very handy! *2020-06-03* You have to appreciate an app that does its job well. I can pop open Wallet Guard and view a credit card or insurance card faster than I could find it in my real wallet. The developer regularly updates the app and adds nice touches too. The sync via Dropbox is excellent and makes it easy to keep current details available on all iOS devices.
